Announces

Entrepreneurship Week 2011

(5-12 FEBRUARY)
E-SUMMIT

During the past several decades, the significant and growing scholarly interest in
entrepreneurs and new venture creation, has resulted in the shaping of entrepreneurship
as a rigorous academic field of study, including the creation of several dedicated
scholarly journals and rise of entrepreneurship-specific research conferences.

Entrepreneurial organizations face unique challenges; depending on the industry setting

and the specific nature of the business. New ventures often experience constant change
and limited financial resources. These pressures can have a profound effect upon ethical
decision-making processes, resulting in ethical situations for entrepreneurs that are
fraught with ambiguity. Specific ethical dilemmas that are especially salient to
entrepreneurs can arise with respect to the division of profits within the organization, high
risk associated with newness, and the trade-off between impression management,
legitimation, and honesty. Furthermore, entrepreneurs tend to face ethical dilemmas
involving their own values, organizational culture, employee well-being, customer
satisfaction, and external accountability.

The intersection of entrepreneurship and ethics, though receiving more recent research
attention, remains relatively embryonic. Entrepreneurship scholars point out the
importance of entrepreneurial ethics to the global economy and ethics researchers argue
for more empirical orientation on small and emergent firms, rather than just large
organizations, in ethics research.

We at JIM, Noida, would like to invite you to share your views & experiences, about
“Ethical Entrepreneurship” with our budding entrepreneurs. Organized by the
Entrepreneurship Cell of the institute, the ‘Entrepreneurship Summit 2011’ on 5th Feb
’11, Saturday at 10:00 am, is the inaugural event of the E-Week 2011, which aims to
bring together the entrepreneurial passions of the nation to converge on one platform.

This year the theme for “Entrepreneurship Week India 2011”is Ideas for India. Through
this event E-Cell wishes to provide the students from NCR, a chance to motivate and
educate people about entrepreneurship and serve as a meeting ground for corporate and
young budding entrepreneurs from distinguished institutions across the whole country.
