LEARNING : At the end of this course, students should be able to:

1. discuss various definitions, theories and models of creativity

2. develop children’s capacity for creative thinking and
achievement through carefully planned classroom activities

3. use creativity to increase levels of motivation and self-

4. design and perform a lesson that foster creative thinking

5. display novelty and originality in finding and solving a

6. communicate ideas in novel and appropriate ways (A5)
SYNOPSIS : This course will expose students to the concept of creativity,
including theories and models of creativity and how it can be applied
in the science classrooms. The focus will be on the aspects of
teaching and assessment that can elicit and promote creative
thinking skills in students and the role of motivation and how it
affects creativity in students. Students will design teaching and
learning activities that translate the primary science curriculum in an
interesting and challenging way through alternative teaching and
assessment strategies which still meet the Integrated Primary School
Curriculum for Science requirements.

Kursus ini akan mendedahkan pelajar kepada konsep kreativiti,


termasuk teori dan model kreativiti dan bagaimana ia boleh
diaplikasikan di dalam bilik darjah sains. Tumpuan adalah kepada
aspek pengajaran dan pentaksiran yang boleh mencungkil dan
mempertingkatkan kemahiran berfikir pelajar dan peranan motivasi
dan bagaimana ia mempengaruhi kreativiti pelajar. Pelajar akan
merekabentuk aktiviti pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang berupaya
menterjemahkan kurikulum sains sekolah rendah dengan cara yang
menarik dan mencabar melalui strategi pengajaran dan pentaksiran
alternatif tetapi pada masa yang sama masih memenuhi keperluan
Kurirkulum Bersepadu Sekolah Rendah bagi Sains.
