Entrepreneur Baltazar Fedalizo, franchisee of Subway in San Pedro and
owner-operator of Infinite Solutions Adult Day Health Care Center in Long
Beach, has been recruited to the United States Navy Supply Corps Officer
Corps. This is a recruiting program specifically for entrepreneurs and high-level
executives under age 40 and able to serve their country. These officers-
candidates have demonstrated over time the ability to manage and scale
financial challenges coupled with meeting milestones in their corporation's
vision or their own critical path. This is the business managers' Department of
the Navy.

His Subway at Gaffey and Channel streets in San Pedro was ranked at the
bottom out of 500 stores in Los Angeles County in 2004; the same store won
the distinguished award of highest net sales in the history of Los Angeles
County with a 146 percent increase for 2005.

the aerospace corpORATION

The Aerospace Corporation has promoted Donald J. Boucher Jr. and Albert C. Hoheb Jr.
to principal engineer positions at its headquarters in El Segundo.

Boucher, an expert in satellite remote sensing, will work on the Defense Meteorological
Satellite Program, National Polar-Orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System,
and other programs as a space weather sensor specialist. He advances from systems
director for sensors and ground systems.

Hoheb, assigned to The Aerospace Institute, will be responsible for identifying


requirements and strategies that support space education and work force development for
the company's customers. He also will provide technical subject matter expertise to
support the design and delivery of technical courses. Hoheb's most recent position was
director of the Technical Education Department at the Institute.

Leiner Health Products Inc. of Carson has appointed Kevin McDonnell as executive vice
president, chief financial officer. Before joining Leiner, McDonnell served as CFO of
Memorex Corp., a global leader in the sale of blank CD and DVD media.

portofino hotel & yacht club

The Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club in Redondo Beach has appointed Roberth Sundell as
the new executive chef. Sundell oversees all food and beverage operations, including 78
staff members, creates all menus and banquet functions, and hires and trains staff in the
food and beverage department. Sundell will be part of the hotel's renovation and launch
of BALEENlosangeles this winter, replacing the current Breakwater restaurant.

Sundell, who was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, has more than 14 years of
experience working as a chef in a number of fine dining establishments, including chef de
partie at Baiyles Hotel in London and Hilton Slussen, as well as sous chef at Hotel
Continental in Stockholm.

women in health administration (WHA)

Susan L. Brilliant of Redondo Beach has been elected president of Women in


Health Administration (WHA) of Southern California, a nonprofit professional
association for women health executives. Brilliant, a project manager at Kaiser
Permanente, was elected to a one-year term and will serve through 2006. She
has served on various board of director positions at WHA in the past and has
been an active volunteer for various charities, including the Los Angeles
County Museum of Art, the Beach Cities Health District and the Multiple
Sclerosis Society.
