SOCIAL BANKING & MICROFINANCE (SBM)

ASSIGNMENT
Weightage: 30 %

General Instructions

1. Composition of Groups: A group of not more than 4 students each will work on
any of the topics listed below. Selection of the assignment topics is to be made in a
manner that no two groups in a Section will work on the same topic.

2. Allocation of Assignment The Class representatives may please mail to the


instructor at prabal_sen@xlri.ac.in, the file containing the position of allocation of the
assignments, separately for the BM Class and the PM & IR (Section A) and the PM &
IR (Section B), respectively. This statement incorporating allocation of topics among
groups of students is to be typed in MS Word-not in Excel please, strictly in the
format appended to these instructions.

3. Presentation: Presentation will take place from the 17th session (in case of BM) and
the 18th session (in case of PM & IR) onward of the course. The order of presentation
will be decided in consultation with the class representative. Each group will be
allowed 15 minutes for presentation, which will be followed by a question-and-
answer session of 5 minutes each.

4. Date and time of submission of written papers: The presentations (typed in PPT
format) and the texts of the reports (typed in MS Word-not in PDF) are to be
submitted within 48 hours after presentation of the respective assignments. In case of
each assignment, besides the soft copy, the hard copy each of the text as well as the
presentation (properly stapled/bound as a single volume) may be submitted to the
Instructor within the time limit indicated above.

5. Typing Style: The reports are to be typed in MS Word; Font Size: 12 with 1.5 spacing

6. Word Limit: The paper should not generally contain more than 3,500 words.

7. End notes, references and annexures: may be given if considered necessary. These
will not be included in computation of the word limit.

8. Weightage and Evaluation: Weightage accorded to the Assignment will be 30 %.


Evaluation will be made based on the presentation. The written report will be
scrutinized only to check originality and overall consistency
