Speech Preparation
1. Using language
Use the right words, so the audience would understand your idea. Good
speakers use words accurately and correctly. Using language clearly by using
familiar words.
2. Delivery
Most audience prefer delivery that combines formality with the best attributes
of good conversation, directness, spontaneity, animation, vocal and facial
expressiveness and a lively sense of communication.
Avoid using chalkboard for visual aids, avoid passing visual aids among the
audience, display visual aids where listeners can see them and only while
discussing them, talk to your audience not to your visual aid, explain it clearly
and concisely, don`t forget to practice with your visual aids.
Speaking Skills
1. Try to ensure everyone can see and hear you when you speak.
2. Only one person can speak at a time.
7. Don`t pretend that you speak for everyone, use I rather than we.
Body Language
Action is a language and it`s universal. We use the language of action all the time.
Our bodies respond to our feeling. We use action to tell other what we need. In
public speaking, language of action has 3 part:

When we use this in speech situation, we need knowledge and right practice.
1. Physical skills
First, we need to controlling our anxiety, such as empty our bladder before
starting to speak, make the audience comfortable. Speaker and the audience
have to be in the same page on the same way, don`t let them have their own
journey.
The next, eye contact, we associate eye contact to telling the truth. We respect
people if we look at in their eye.
Learn to stop talking long enough to realy take in what we gonna say. The
pause is the most important thing we can do. Get some picture, before the
next thing we gonna say.

Power point is a digital story telling to a first of all. As presenter, we use this
tool a lot. We use power point as a complement to combine between two ideas,
visual and verbal.
2. Open a blank slide, get rid of the template, and get rid of the bullet.
3. Put one idea cross per slide. Don`t put much graphic or animation, it would
lacking in thought, meaning and value. Use minimally animation sound.
4. High contrast has more impact. The same emphasis will makes difficult to

emotion, humor to make people laugh, another way to adding your story. Take
a photograph of some children works.
8. Use remote mouse, it will allows you to the room and became part of the

Active Listening
Good speaker not only inform their audience, they also listen to them. By
listening, you know that they are understanding the information and if that
information important to them.
Nerves
Do not fight nerves, welcome them. Then you`ll feel that the presentation is
a challenge and you became better. If you let your nerves take over, then you`ll
withdrawing from the audience.
