Features: Applications:
Self generating, no power required Large industrial gas turbines
Stainless Steel Housing Furnace fan monitoring
Zero friction - infinite resolution Hazardous areas:
UL intrinsically safe for Class 1, Grps (A-D), Div. 1; Non-incendive
for Class 1, Grps. (A-D), CSA Explosion-proof for: Class 1, Grps
(A-D), Div. 1; IEC intrinsically safe for: EEx ia IIC T6 Tamb: -54°C
to 375°C; IEC non-incendive for: EEX nA IIC T6 -54°C to 375°C.

These transducers provide accurate, repeatable vibration measurements over wide ranges of amplitude and fre-
quency. They are constructed for continuous operation at elevated temperatures. This makes them suitable for use
on large gas turbines, furnace fans or any application requiring use in a hazardous area.

This symbol indicates that the user should refer to this manual for use and installation.

1.0 Transducer Installation

The sensitive axis of the transducer can be oriented in any direction. To ensure clean response to high frequency
vibrations, the transducer must be securely mounted to a flat machined surface using four #6 (or 3mm) socket head
screws. If a bracket is required, it should be of rigid construction to prevent spurious mechanical resonances in the
pass band.

2.0 Wiring the Transducer

In ordinary, non-hazardous locations the transducer should be wired according to Page 4 or drawing 7623, Sheet 2.

In hazardous locations the wiring method depends upon the area classification.

a. In Class I, Groups A, B, C & D or IEC Zone 0, Group IIC hazardous locations, the transducer may be connected
through a zener diode safety barrier to the safe area receiver in accordance with Page 5 or drawing 7623, Sheet
3. Alternatively, in Class I, Div 1, Groups C and D hazardous locations, the transducer can be installed in 7263
explosion-proof housing and wired through rigid conduit directly to the safe area receiver.

The Ci, Li & Ri values for the transducer are listed below:

CENELEC AND IECEx ENTITY PARAMETERS

Note: For integral cable versions, the maximum additional Ci & Li is 2nF and 60uH respectively.

b. In Class I, Div 2, Groups A, B, C & D or IEC Zone 2, Group IIC locations the transducer may be wired as in
(a), or it can be wired without a safety barrier if wired in accordance with Page 6 or drawing 8096.

The maximum low temperature for use is -54°C for both types.

The temperature classification as a function of ambient temperature is:

Max. Ambient Temp. Temp. Classification

45°C T6
60°C T5
95°C T4
160°C T3
260°C T2
410°C T1

Note: For units requiring 4850 cable - Torque connector nut 12-14 inch pounds. Insert lock wire into cable con-
nector nut and double twist approximately 7-10 twists per inch, pulling tight to connector nut and sensor body or to
lock wire screw on top of unit. Wrap once around sensor body and double twist three to five twists minimum. Cut-off
excess.
