Idolize someone for me came from my love of something. Like when I was child, I was
dreaming that one day I can wear toe shoes and dance with the tip of my toes. And then that
became my idol is ‘Mary Cahan’. Character in a comic who is described like and expert
ballet. Despite many obstacles and competition with other ballet dancer who is more
fowerfull and professional, marry with innocence and simplicity that she had always been
able to show that she is a true ballerina are always dancing with the heart. Then I began to
imitate the movement in the copmic let mary chan. Is difficult, because I am self-tauhg then I
askede my cousin to bring me a tape containing a movie about ballet. Since that tim e I really
wanted to like mary chan. But what I realized was, I was ten years old. So it is imposible for
me to learn to dance ballet as a child ages 3 to 5 years. Since than that I idolized another
figure. No longer a comic character like’ mary chan’. But a figure who was real in my life
namely my own grandmother.

Grandma who is firs know that I wanted to learn to dance. And then me granmother put me
on a cultural image dance studio. Where there I began to learn traditional dance of java.
Grandmother who always accompany me to dance and see how far I progress in learnig the
dance . one day, at the age of seventy years old grandmacalled me and asked me to play a
tape. I think the grandmother would tell me to dance. But the happene, it made me fascinated
by the dance that was the delivered by the grandmother. Movements are very soft, perfect
faces in accordance whit the accompaniment of musical inspiration. I started asking, “since
when grandmother learn to dance ? “. B ut ultimated the question was answered when my
mother said that she was a dance in her day. Dancer who is admired by many people at that
time. And I lived with her nearlynineteen years. But I just know it . this makes me really
idolized he4r. not only because she was a dancer and she taught me to dance with always
based on 3 elements grandmother always said “ wiraga ( mastery of dance technique, and
mastery of space and a clear expression of motion ), wirama ( setting the tempo and rhythm ),
wirasa ( mastery of the soul which includes the intellect, imagination, concentration of mind,
feeling, mental and behavior that accompanied the balance and sustanibility of yiels from
barbagai element or element of dance )” but also because since chilhood I’ve been living with
her. And grandmother who taught me about many things. Understand everything I wan ted
and tried to make it happen. Always be my friend. So my grandmother was an idol for me.
Idol in my life. Idol because of her humility. My grandmother was the idol greater than the
figures ‘ maryt chan ‘. And will always be an idol in everything.
