INTERMEDIATE (Part I&II) (SUPPLEMENTARY) EXAMINATION, 2008.

RESULT NOTIFICATOIN
The Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Gujranwala was established in October 1982, (under the Punjab Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education Act 1976) with its jurisdiction over
six districts i.e. Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Mandi Baha-ud-din, Narowal and Hafizabad.
The Intermediate (Supplementary) Examination 2008 commenced from 11-10-2008 and the written/theory papers ended on 06-11-2008. The Practical Examination was conducted from 08-11-2008 to
03-12-2008.
22441 candidates applied for admission to this Examination. The result is being declared on 03-01-2009.

1. PROCLAMATION
(i) This Result Gazette is issued as a notice only. Errors and Omissions are acceptable. An entry appearing herein does not independently confer any right or privilege to the candidates for the
grant of a certificate which will be issued in due course of time and under the regulations.
(ii) The result of all candidates whether successful or otherwise is being published for convenience of all concerned.
(iii) The numerical figures given in the result column show the marks obtained by the successful candidates while the abbreviations show the subjects in which the candidate is fail or any other
position of the result.

2. CANCELLED ROLL NUMBERS

The unallotted roll numbers have been cancelled. Similarly the roll numbers of the candidates sent up provisionally by the institutions but finally with drawn or of those candidates who were found in-
eligible for any other reason have also been cancelled.

3. CHANCE TO REAPPEAR
Those candidates:-
(i) Who appeared in the Intermediate Supplementary examination 2008 in full subjects and failed in two subjects, shall have two chances to appear in failing subjects till Intermediate Supplementary
Examination 2009.
(ii) Who appeared in the Intermediate Annual examination 2008 and failed to qualify the failing subjects may appear till Intermediate Annual examination 2009.
(iii) Who appeared in the Intermediate Supplementary examination 2007 and failed to qualify the failing subjects shall have to repeat the Examination as a whole under part system in the Forth Coming
Examination.
(iv) Who appeared in Supplementary Examination 2008 as a regular student in part II, Their last chance will be Annual examination 2009. because their admission forms were not sent up by the
institutions in Annual 2008.
(v) The candidates who appeared in old pattern as private candidates in the Supplementary Examination 2008, in case of failure they will have to appear in full subjects under new pattern in the Annual
Examination 2009.

4. RESULT LATERS CASES

This time, successful efforts have been made to reduce the number of result later cases to negligible percentage. However some results are pending of those who inspite of repeated reminders have failed
to remove discrepancies but responsibility lies on such candidate, in respect of:-
i. Non-adjustment of fee accounts
ii. Non-determination of their eligibility.
iii. Any other discrepancy already intimated to them.
All such candidates are advised in their own interest to deposit the arrears of fee, if any and to comply with other requirements already intimated without further delay, otherwise the office would not
be able to release result intimations.

5. SUBMISSION OF ADMISSION FORMS

The Intermediate Annual Examinations 2009 is scheduled to be held on 20-04-2009 the schedule for fresh candidates is as under.
PRIVATE REGULAR
Single Fee: 02-01-2009 15-01-2009
Double Fee: 29-01-2009 29-01-2009
Tripple Fee: 20-03-2009 20-03-2009

The candidates who appeared in the Intermediate Supplementary examination 2008 have been allowed to reappear will submit their admission forms alongwith prescribed fee within 15 days of the
declaration of the result. After that the admission forms will be accepted according to the schedule as already notified.

6. CONCESSION
Candidates failing in any subject to qualify for the grant of the intermediate Certificates for want of not more than one percent of the total number of marks allotted to the relevant group have been
given the benefit for requisite number of marks in the subjects in which they have failed so as to enable them just to qualify for the grant of certificate but these marks have not been physically added in the
marks obtained by the candidates in the said subjects or the aggregate. Thus the aggregate shown in the result card is the real total of the actual marks obtained by the candidates exclusive of the grace marks.

7. RESULT INTIMATIONS

i. Result intimations to the successful and failed regular/private candidates have been dispatched to them under registered cover. No duplicate intimation card/certificate will be issued except on an
application made on the prescribed from and a fee i.e. Rs. 800/= deposited for this purpose.
ii. Original Certificates to the successful regular candidates will be sent in due course of time to their respective institutions. The certificates of private candidates will be dispatched on their home
addresses.

UNFAIRMEANS CASES
In view of strict measures adopted to curb the tendency of unfairmeans in the examination, on a remarkable improvement has been noted. Despite of our vast and comprehensive inspections 13 cases
could be detected such with alleged use of unfairmeans in the Examination Halls.

The number of unfairmeans cases detected in this examination and so far decided are mentioned here under. A judicious procedure is being observed to decide all these cases. Before deciding the
cases of alleged use of unfairmeans maximum efforts have been made to provide fair opportunity of defence to all the candidates involved in such cases. A liberal offer has been made to the candidates to avail
the chance of personal interview with the discipline Committee and it has been ensured that personal hearing is granted to every such candidate who has shown his willingness for this purpose. All the
undecided cases denoted are pending for want of written reply from the candidates in response to charge-sheet issued to them by the office. These candidates have been reminded more than once to submit
their statements to the office to proceed further in the cases. All of them are hereby advised to submit their written defence to avoitd ex-part decision.

GRADES / DIVISION FORMULA

In substitution of the old system of Division, new system of grades has been introduced. These grades will be shown on the certificates on the basis of marks obtained. The grading and division formula is as
under.

A+ Outstanding 80% or above marks 880 or above

A Excellent 70% to 79.99% marks 770 to 879
B Very good 60% to 69.99% marks 660 to 769
C Good 50% to 59.99% marks 550 to 659
D Fair 40% to 49.99% marks 440 to 549
E Satisfactory 33% to 39.99% marks 439 or below

DIVISIONS:
First 60% or above
Second 45% but less than 60%
Third 33% but less than 45%
