Regional Sales Manager (South Zone) India

The Group, as a part of its global expansion programme, is planning to start a National Distribution
network in Inida to distribute and sell its selected range of products initially in the Southern Region and
gradually on a National basis. The selected incumbent is expected to conduct an extensive market study
in all the 4 Southern States to develop a detailed business plan and to implement the same successfully.
Since this is a start up operation, the Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for establishing,
developing and managing new business and key accounts, generating leads, assembling and managing
a sales team, handling client relations, meeting revenue goals and constantly generating new business
revenue within the assigned region.

Primary Responsibilities
• Planning & Implementing Sales & Marketing Strategies
• To build up, manage and support direct sales as well as a distributor network in the markets
throughout the South Zone.
• Responsible for achieving the budgeted and stretched sales targets for the entire range of products and
increasing our market share.
• Development of fresh business through new products, product extensions and untapped commercial
opportunities.
• Preparation of Annual Budgets and Business Plans for the given markets.
• Monitor and analyze the market trends on a continuous basis and contribute effectively to the overall
business strategy of the company.
• Aggressively pursue new business and market opportunities.
• Channel Partner Appointment, Management and Development.
• Responsible to develop customer relations, customer development and sustainable business growth.
• Identifying the right partners and appointing them as distributors, setting budgets for them, discussing
and agreeing on promotions required, pricing structure etc.
• Planning and implementing comprehensive sales strategy for our range of products.
• Identify and propose development of new products to be done by us and launched into the Region.
• Propose advertising and promotion plans together with commensurate sales targets to establish our
key brands in the Region.
• Setting business targets for the distributors and for self and monitoring their achievement -- sales,
profits.
• Developing of retail level pos material suitable for the Southern Region.
• Organizing and monitoring merchandising at retail level.

Skills
• Completely fluent in written and spoken English and ability to converse in all South Indian
Languages (Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam & Kannada).
• High initiative, self motivated learner and achiever.
• Excellent Team Building and Leadership skills.
• Effective communicator in both written and oral capacity
• Smart and commercially savvy.
• Persuasive negotiator who seeks win-win outcomes and long-term relationships.
• A natural flair for sales & marketing and a presentable personality.

Experience
• Overall 10 + Years solid sales & Marketing experience of which at least 5 Years must be in Sales in
Consumer Goods industry in South India gained from within a Beauty Care/Personal
Care/Toiletries/FMCG Industry.
• Experience in selling Body Sprays will be an added advantage.
• Experience in handling Institutional Sales in India
• Currently working in a Branch Manager/Sales Manager/Regional Manager capacity with individual
responsibility of sales and operations arenas.
• Good background in financial and business management which establish the foundation for a sales
and management career.
• Willing to take on additional responsibilities relevant to work.
• Availability and ability to undertake extensive business travel within your specified geographic
region.
• Strong potential to take up bigger challenges in future.
• Proven and consistent over-achiever having met or exceeded the goals in his functional capacity.
• Team player with strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to manage business effectively.
Education
Graduate in any discipline. Additional qualification in Business Management would be an advantage.
