SHARP NEEDLE POINT

Abstract: An established procedure for stitching on fabric was R (round point) would be best
possible to achieve neater finish (basic & suitable for fabric).Needle point at R is convex dome
shape, having more probability to deflect the fabric while stitching. It had!! Then we been moved
to SES point= more acute round point but under the round point classification. However the
acuteness is pronounced than round point to the reason tendency of yarn deflection on fabric was
lower down but it’s noticeable ( Each intro fabric been developed with special process to achieve
special property. Ultimately & final result to transition of product! Emerging issues’ are variety
in nature E.g. Scarf chubby, Bandana, sateen & poly satin lining). To avoid completely! The
following studies had been done on delicate (Especially on poly satin was more delicate than
among) fabric with sharp point.

Fabric issue’s on production:

SES Point: This one where every SP are following for fabric & to all fabric. Encommon process
done with TKT 30 & 40 occasionally thickness of thread had been increased. To the same 100 0r
1mm Dia would be suitable size to getting the stitching without any loop on both upper &
bobbin. To the same at point needle entering & de-entering after formation of the stitch!
Ultimately size of Dia of needle prick would account with thread thickness. Thus result yarn
displacements are noticeable.
Objective of SES point:

1. Acute point than round point or ball point however it’s classification of round point. To
the same the shapes are convex dome shape.

2. Difficult to maintain the stitch & seam on straight.

3. Stitch Type : filled stitch ( upon using correct size on product)

4. Seam appearance will be saddle in reverse direction

5. Available in both long groove & short groove

6. Stitch hole & stitch tear strength: Good

7. Seam strength : Good

Sharp point: The needle point are neither round (fabric point) nor wedge (Leather point) point.
It’s sharp point where so acute than SES. To the same the groove shape has been modified to
such way to avoid the deflections of yarns & needle hole are unnoticeable. Commercial product
name of the needle is denim point. Note below the SEM view of needle point & graph
illustration of yarn deflections.

Sharp point tip convolution:

SEM Picture of SES Needle point:

Graph illustration: Needle punch & fabric deflection

Objective of Sharp point needle:

1. Needle point is sharp rather than round, to the same delfection of yarns will reduced at
entering & dentering!!

2. Scarf thickness has been redused than conventional scarf thickness , reason where it has
smooth penetration on fabric, also deflection of needle considerably reduced with help
special thickness & shape of scarf
3. Availability : only short groove , where it’s sufficient to product (fabric )thickness about
3.5 to 4mm ( More than will find difficult to achieve perfect loop

4. Stitch hole & stitch tear strength: Better

5. Seam strength : Better

Using of sharp point the following were result arrived & avoided the deflection to
considerable amount (unnoticeable)!! To better understanding note attached XLS sheet
( The picture resolution & size been increased to the same attaching here is not possible )
Make note RESOLVED TAB on attached sheet( control picture of SES & Sharp point
stitched on same flap with & without thread) .

Result:

1. Sharp are working on polysatin lining where found & sorted as delicate fabric. To the
same the deflection was better than SES.

2. Loop is perfected with use of needle.
