Citation  and  General  Information:
The  title  of  this  program  is  Music  Ace  2.  The  authors  of  this  publication  are
Joel  May,  Phil  Rockenbach,  Bob  Kaiser,  Kevin  Lentz,  and  Mike  Mendelson.  The
publisher  is  Harmonic  Vision.  The  date  this  was  published  is  November,  2002.  The
content  that  this  program  contains  is  lessons  for  beginner  music  students.  The  age
range  of  this  program  is  really  any  age  but  I  would  recommend  that  it  can  be  used  in
music  students  grades  3-‐6.

The  hardware  needed  for  this  software  is  either  Windows  95,  98,  2000,  Me,

Procedures:
This  program  operates  in  a  certain  manner.  Once  you  have  uploaded  the
program  you  are  instructed  to  create  a  profile.  One  you  create  that  profile  you  are
then  invited  to  start  the  program’s  lessons.  The  procedure  for  learning  starts  out
with  an  interactive  lesson  that  breaks  down  the  topics  listed  above.  After  you
complete  each  lesson  you  are  then  asked  to  participate  in  an  exercise  that  test  the
user  to  make  sure  that  they  understand  what  the  lesson  is  about  and  this  interacts
with  the  user  to  tell  them  there  progress.

After  the  lesson  is  done  the  user  is  then  directed  to  a  game  that  corresponds
to  the  lesson  that  they  have  just  completed.  This  game  is  very  interactive  and  does
not  let  you  go  on  until  you  have  successfully  completed  the  game.  After  the  games
has  been  completed  successfully  or  unsuccessfully  you  are  directed  to  the
intermission  page  where  you  can  select  where  you  would  like  to  go  whether  it  be
the  main  menu,  the  progress  page,  the  previous  lesson,  or  the  next  lesson.

I  think  that  this  program  covers  all  of  both  Educationa  Objectives  and
Instructional  Modes  indicated  on  the  “Time”  manual’s  page  21a.  Overall  I  think  this
program  is  great  for  the  beginner  to  work  and  practice  on  and  really  learn  the
fundamentals  in  a  way  that  creative  and  different  than  sitting  in  the  classroom
setting.  I  do  think  that  the  program  is  a  bit  outdates  (8  years  old)  and  that  better
programs  are  out  there.
