Pat Conroy, as you know,
is a legend in the industry,
with his novels The Prince
of Tides, South of Broad,
and many more. Although
much of his time at the
2011 Girlfriend Weekend
was sharing funny stories
with friend and mentor Pat Conroy & Bernie Schein
Bernie Schein, his message
was clear, he writes
because we read and his
new book My Reading Life
is about just that, reading.
He read an excerpt from
pgs. 304-305.

2010 Pulpwood Queens Book Awards
At the end of the second day of
Girlfriend Weekend, awards were given
to individual authors in categories voted
on by each chapter of the Pulpwood
Queens. Each winning author was
presented with a crystal perfume bottle
as a trophy.

Book of the Year to Kimberly
