This program is organized with the objectives of:
1. To create awareness amongst the students of the whole value chain of gas
commercialization.
2. To create Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) awareness of the proper usage, delivery
and application of gas products.
3. To raise understanding of the HSE & Sustainable Development issues faced by the
industry today.
4. To enhance the students’ understanding in HSE by sharing tools and practices and its
application.
5. To provide an overview of the career opportunities available in the gas industry.
Participants were involved in group activities, case study and interactive sessions
designed to test the students’ ability to understand and apply HSE concepts and to
enhance learning and knowledge building.
Various oil and gas company such as PETRONAS, SHELL, and EXXONMOBIL gave
the talks. During the talk, the safety aspects were highlighted the most especially in
industrial perspective point of view. Besides that, the safety code aspect such as hazards,
kind of hazard and job hazards analysis were
2. Competition
The competition was held base on previous group member where each group was given
two tasks that need to be completed within 12 hour. First task was writing a report was
each group need to indentify the hazard that can be found around the hotel and suggest
the way to avoid future accident that may occur. Second task was a presentation on the
case study. Each task give 50 percent of overall mark and as for the result, group A won a
second placed. Both group A and B were praised by panels for excellence report and
creative slide. UMP Group A was announced to be first runner up for the competition and
rewarded with RM1000.00 of book voucher and certificate of participation. INSTEP
Group B was awarded as the winner for the competition.
