winners will be chosen in two categories:
grades 3–6 and grades 7–12. Two authors,
two print publications, and one online publication
will each receive $500. Winners will also get
a round-trip flight to Washington, D.C., and a
one-night hotel stay in the nation’s capital.

CONTEST RULES
Weekly Reader’s Student Publishing Contest
honors the best in nonfiction publications and
individual writing by students. The contest is
intended to inspire young people to tell true,
compelling stories through reporting and writing.
ELIGIBILITY
Entries must be student writing produced Honoring Outstanding Student Nonfiction Writing
between Jan. 1, 2010, and Feb. 28, 2011.
Entries may be submitted in three categories: Type of Entry:
1. Individual Student Writing ___ Individual Student Writing
2. Whole Publication: Print ___ Whole Publication: Print (Note: Submit three copies of the same issue.)
3. Whole Publication: Online Only

Only one entry per student will be accepted in
the individual student writing category. Only Grade Level of Entry (check one)
one entry per publication will be accepted in
___ grades 3 to 6
the publication categories. Students may enter
