DMN-8600MK SCREEN EXAMPLES COMPLETE KIT

The manufacturing kit includes all the hardware and software elements
needed to design a full-featured, cost-effective DVD recorder. It includes the
DMN-8600 based digital board, analog interface boards, front panel, power
supply and DVD+RW ATAPI drive. The complete software application for the DVD
Recorder is provided. The manufacturing kit is delivered with schematics and
PCB layout files, a manufacturer’s guide and a user’s guide template for quick
creation of consumer documentation.

FULL-FEATURED DVD PLAYBACK
The DMN-8600MK supports the playback of DVD-Video disks with 5.1
channel Dolby Digital and DTS audio, and VCD discs. Dolby Digital and DTS
audio are available to an external audio receiver via coaxial and optical digital
outputs. Dolby Digital is also down-mixed to stereo for analog output. The DMN-
8600MK supports the playback of MPEG-1 layer 3 (MP3) and CD-DA audio
formats and the display of JPEG-encoded pictures.

DoMiNoFX™ VIDEO QUALITY
The DMN-8600MK includes all the technologies represented by the
DoMiNoFX™ brand and logo — industry-leading pre-and post-processing of
video for a visibly superior viewing experience. The LSI Logic TrueView™ Pro
motion-compensated temporal filtering (MCTF) algorithm provides a cleaner
picture through substantial noise reduction. This technique is coupled with the LSI
Logic PerfectView® Pro fifth-generation compression technology for excellent video
quality, even at very low bit rates. The LSI Logic TrueScan™ Pro motion-compen-
sated de-interlacing (MCDI), then recreates clear images on progressive scan

displays through the elimination of video blurring in moving scenes.

COMPATIBILITY
The manufacturing kit supports DVD+RW and DVD+R formats. The
recorded disks can be played in most existing DVD-ROM drives and DVD video
players, addressing consumers’ concerns about compatibility between devices.
