Please find enclosed a copy of the WVSSAC - BB&T West Virginia

Foundation Scholarship Program for the 2009-2010 school term. All applica-
tions must be postmarked by Wednesday, March 16, 2011 to insure they
are received in the WVSSAC office by the deadline on Friday, March 18,
2011. FAXED COPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Remember that only sons and daughters of coaches, bandmasters,

athletic directors, or administrators are eligible for this scholarship. Also,
please remember that only one application can be submitted per school.

WVSSAC - BB&T SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE March 18, 2011

1. Only sons and daughters of coaches, bandmasters, activities directors, athletic directors or
administrators will be eligible for this scholarship.

2. The recipient of this scholarship must be a 12th grade student in a member school of the
WVSSAC.

3. The recipient must have participated in a minimum of two different activities sponsored by the
WVSSAC during the 6th and 7th semester of enrollment in a WVSSAC school. (Second se-
mester junior year and first semester senior year under normal situations).

4. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000. The scholarship is for one year only.

5. One scholarship will be awarded in each of the five administrative districts of the WVSSAC.

6. Candidates for this scholarship will be judged on the following criteria:

a. character d. citizenship
b. leadership e. scholarship
c. participation f. financial need

7. All candidates must have at least a 2.5 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale and a minimum A.C.T. composite
score of 18.

8. All candidates must have a high school transcript of grades attached.

9. Only one application can be submitted per school.

10. Alternates will be chosen in each administrative district in case the recipient is unable to accept
the award.

11. Any student who accepts a full scholarship award will not be eligible for this scholarship.

12. The final decision on awarding the scholarship will be made by the Board of Directors of the
WVSSAC.

13. If the student fails to attend college or an institution of advanced studies the $1,000 must be
returned to the WVSSAC.

14. Checks will be made payable to the student upon receipt of proof that the tuition has been paid.
The amount of this scholarship will be paid in two equal sums at the beginning of each semes-
ter.
