& Skill Development and Plastic Processing
Agro & Food Processing: The agro- climatic conditions of the North East states make it
particularly conducive for agri and horticultural crops. Innumerable varieties of fruits
and vegetable, tuber crops, flowers, spices, plantation crops, medicinal and aromatic
plants are extensively grown in the entire region. Many of the agro horticultural
produces have high demand in the international market.

Tourism: North East for long has been projected as the next big destination for tourism
in India. The region is ideally suited for developing into a 365 days tourist destination.
Its potential lies on availability of various types of tourism concepts like natural,
cultural, religious, ecological and adventure tourism.
Plastic Processing: With the commissioning of the Brahmaputra Gas Cracker Project in
Assam there would be availability of HDPE, LLDPE and PP to produce a variety of
products. The per capita consumption of Plastics in the region is 1.1 kgs compared to a
national average of 5 kgs and global average 30 kgs. This indicates at the tremendous
scope for plastic processing in the region.
Education & Skill Development: North East North East is seen as one of the sunrise
region of the country. To gear up for the changes there is an urgent need for skills
development in the region. While basic literacy is a must, Skills Development of the
youth is important for the holistic growth of the region.
The session would give a better understanding on the investment scenario and
opportunities in the region and also offer a platform to network with major players
from Gujarat and across the globe to explore the possibilities of joint work
