Course Objective
To explore the concepts and techniques relating to BCRM and enable the students to learn
its critical issues. The course essentially aims at understanding concepts of Behavioral
Communication with focus on Relationship Management.

At the end of the course students will be able to:


• Learn basic concepts of behavior & communication
• Understand the concept of effective communication and its impact on behavior.
• Learn various modes of behavioral communication
• Appreciate the importance of Interpersonal Behavior & Relationship
• Learn various techniques of building Interpersonal relationship.
• Understand various types of relationships
• Learn the impact of cultural environment
• Learn various interaction patterns & maintenance of relationships

Session 1: Introduction, course review and sharing of session plan

Session 2: Human behavior, various management skills & roles

Session 3: Communication: skills, process & effective communication

Session 4: Effective speaking

Session 5: Effective Writing

Session 6: Effective listening

Case study / Home assignment


Session 7 : Interpersonal Behavior
Various models for improving Interpersonal relationship

Session 8 : Relationships – various types

Session 9 : Impact of cultural environment on relationship

Session 10 : Various Interaction patterns – TA

Session 11 : Maintenance of relationships

Session 12 : Group Discussions & case presentations

Learning Pedagogy
A series of lectures as per above session plan will impart knowledge and conceptual
Understanding of the subject and will be complemented by interactive tutor-led and
student-led discussions.. The unit has thus been designed to use a variety of teaching
pedagogies including Case Studies, Group Discussions and Home assignments / Projects
that will help students to learn and apply various concepts relating to Behavioral
Communication & Relationship Management.
