1. Objective

To prepare the Business Requirement Document for XYZ Co. regarding the performance analysis of
various funds.

2. Scope

XYZ Co. wants to incorporate an additional screen in current application A that will help in the
performance analysis of funds. At present, the company does not have any functionality system to
analyse the performance of individual funds.

3. Business Requirement

The business requirement of XYZ Co. is to incorporate an additional screen in current application A
regarding the analysis of funds in a portfolio so as to assist the users in observing the behavior of funds
and hence improving the performance of portfolio. The new screen will help in quick analysis of present
and past data for better future prediction of fund behavior and improved planning for the allocation of
funds in a portfolio.

4. Current Business Process

Currently the application A does not have any functionality regarding the analysis of performance of
funds individually. The decisions made regarding the allocation of funds in future lacks in availability of
factual sheets about their performance in past.

5. Requirement Category

XYZ Co. wants to incorporate an additional screen in the current application A, displaying behavior of
individual fund and their effect on portfolios. The new screen added should be able to show the desired
result and proved to be helpful to the organization in analyzing the portfolio performances in funds. It
should be able to show the net inflows and outflows of investor’s capital, as well as the ongoing
performance of investments appropriate for the funds.

6. Cost Benefit Analysis

As per the analysis, the benefits incurred by XYZ Co. is more than the cost incurred on the
implementation of additional screen. Therefore, incorporation of additional screen to existing business
application is favorable.

7. Expected Benefits
The portfolio manager and the other users should be able to make more precise decision regarding the
investments in funds. The manger should be able to get the required data regarding the behavior of funds
which will benefit him in more accurate allocation of funds. The new screen should prove to be
beneficial to the organization in its business results as well as indirectly to the investors whose funds
will be allocated more productively.
