ATTENTION USAF CUSTOMERS: The U.S. Air Force is now a joint user
of the U.S. Army GEN III ECWCS Level VII Extreme Cold Weather Parka
and Trousers. Level VII will be replacing the N3B & F1B parka and
trousers and is available for purchase through approved channels.

ADS is the official supplier of GEN III ECWCS to the U.S. Army.
The only official system is available exclusively through ADS.

• Two-way center-front zipper with protective • Zippered fly opening
wind flap • Nylon reinforced knees
• Nylon reinforced elbows • Full-length side zipper openings

• Ripstop nylon inner lining for suspenders
• Bottom hem with elastic cord for adjustability

SUBJECT: Approval to use Army’s Gen 3 Level 7

1.The Air Force is now a joint user of the Army’s Gen 3 Level 7 Extreme Cold Weather System
parka & trousers. The Army Level 7 will be replacing the N3B & F1B parka & trousers. This
memo provides approval for contracting sections to receive purchasing information & submit
purchasing order(s) for the Level 7 parka & trousers in gray through the approved channels.

2.This action is in support of AF/A4LE approving the Air Force to use the Army Gen 3 Level 7
parka & trouser.
