Course Prerequisite: A grade of C- or better in either Math 2413 or Math 2417 or equivalent.

Course Description: Topics include: Plane and space vectors, the fundamental theorem of calculus,
methods of integration, improper integrals, and applications of integration, parametric equations and polar
coordinates. Sequences, series convergence tests, power series. Three lecture hours and two discussion
hours a week. Credit given for only one of Math 1326 or Math 2414.

Required Textbooks and Materials

• Recommended Textbook: Calculus, Early Transcendentals 6th Edition by


James Stewart
• Solutions manual: The Student Solutions Manual is recommended and
available in the bookstore.
• Calculators: A scientific calculator is recommended. Graphing calculators,
programmable calculators, or calculators with non-numeric displays are NOT
ALLOWED on quizzes or exams.
• MATH HELP CENTER: Located at FO 1.204, 9:00am – 6:00pm (operated by
math TA’s). Provides free walk-in tutoring for students.
• GEMS Center: Located at CN 1.126 (phone: 972-883-6707), M—R: 10:00am –
8:00pm, F and S: 10:00am– 2:00pm. ). Provides free walk-in tutoring for students.

Homework Assignments There will be 11 assignments and the lowest assignment mark will be dropped.
The homework assignments will be published at MuchLearning. MuchLearning is an easy-to-use
educational platform, based on browser-based technology.There will be a deadline for
completion of each assignment. Once the deadline has expired, your grade will be
transferred into eLearning. There will be NO late graded homework scores.
Quizzes: There will be 11 quizzes and the grade zero will be given for every missed quiz. However, for
the final grade, the lowest quiz score will be dropped.
