INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOLAR, WIND AND BIOENERGY

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

Growing energy demand of our world needs proper management of energy on

both global and regional scale. In order to maintain safe energy supply in a healthy
environment all renewable energy sources must be actively utilized in our daily life.

The energy policy as the main driving force of renewable energy industry is to be
harmonized on the regional, national and international level, with special focus on
Southeastern Europe. In the same time the linkage between different sectors dealing with
renewable energy should be enhanced.

Determined by the purpose of playing key role in renewable energy use

promotion, Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Geography in collaboration
with Cholnoky Jenő Geographical Society is organizing ENERGIA
TRANSYLVANIAE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOLAR, WIND AND BIOENERGY to
provide a platform for researchers, engineers, developers as well as industrial
professionals to present and share their research, results and experiences in this area.

The Organizing Committee would like to invite you to attend the CONFERENCE held
on 13-14 May, 2011 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The main objectives of the conference:

• to share knowledge regarding renewable energy researches and implementations
• to highlight the actual state of renewable energy use, good practices, restrictive
factors
• to bring together those who are interested in renewable energy sources from
different sectors (scientific, political, social, private) such as universities, research
institutes, governmental and non-governmental organizations, economic operators
• to induce discussions focusing on renewable energy research and applications
• to call attention to the role of renewable energy industry in the regional
development
• to enhance further collaborations
The main topics concerned of the conference are:
• the role of renewable energy in energy supply system, renewable energy policy
• solar energy
• wind energy
• bioenergy
• the role of non-governmental organizations and environmental
education in renewable energy promotion
• economic operators in renewable energy use
• role of renewable energy in regional development

The session assignment will be announced in the Second Announcement.

Registration fee: 40 EUR including Proceedings Book, coffee and refreshments,

Conference Dinner.

The official language of the conference will be English.

Presentations
Each session will include oral presentations, poster sessions and discussions. Coffee and
light refreshments will be provided for all delegates during the coffee breaks.

Proceedings
All papers presented at the conference will be published in Conference “Proceedings
Book”.

Venue and location

The conference will be hosted by the University of Babeş-Bolyai, Faculty of Geography,
Str. Clinicilor 5-7, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
