1. Area Where Company Products are sold :

2. Basis of Production Planning :

 Market Demand: Demand fluctuates according to seasons.


Demand is usually doubled in summer season than that in winter
season.

 Actual Basis: Production is going on according to order from


distribution channel i.e. agency, wholesaler, retailers etc.

3. Flexibility in Production Planning :


Production is changed according to season like in summer season there
is more production as demand is high and in winter season there is low
production as the demand from market is low.

 Level of Production Details :

o Computerized milk collection

As soon as farmer arrives at the collection center, a sample of milk


poured into a tube.

The sample’s fat content instantly flashes up on a flickering computer


screen. This determines the price of the milk. The can is weighted. A
printed receipt for the farmer

Displays the milk’s fat content, weight and price and he collects his
money.

4. Material Purchase :

Various types of raw material are required i.e. milk, cans, cap sleeves
label and boxes

It is purchased from local farmers in the market. This raw material is


required for production; it is purchased on monthly basis.

5. Maintenance :

Maintenance schedule is there for each machine. If there is any kind of


minor fault in machine, spare parts of the machines are kept in stock.
But in case of non-availability of spare part, it is bought from Mumbai,
where machines are manufactured and sold. Expert technicians also
visit to the factory in case of major problem in the machine.
Maintenance is carried out weekly.

The dust accumulated inside the filters during purification process, is


washed daily by reverse flow of water.

6. Emphasis on Quality :

Quality of the milk being sent for pre-processing is checked


for quality control using a Series of stringent quality control measures.
The best quality milk is then pre-processed by means of special
equipment imported from Germany known as Bactofuges

7. Logistics:

Company gets raw material from local farmers or farmers from outside
market i.e. Pune, Kolhapur etc. The raw material is directly supplied to
factory.

Delivery of the finished boxes of products is done to the network of


agencies of the company by company’s own transport vehicles.
Company owns three transport vehicles.

8. Use of IT:

Computer is mainly used in Office. It is used for recording transactions,


preparing records, i.e. salary sheet and Inventory purpose.

Printing machine is used in production i.e. for print the price, date batch
no. and expiry date on cans.

9. Improvement Area:

1. Fulfilling the Customer order in committed time day by day.

2. Meeting the market demand during seasons in which demand is more


than capacity of factory.
