CONFERENCES @ LABORIE

GENERAL INFORMATION

Laborie Restaurant is situated on the Laborie Wine Estate in Southern Paarl. With it’s
beautifully preserved Cape French manor house it gives visitors a glimpse of life on a historic
wine farm.

The elegant Laborie Restaurant serves gourmet dishes and menus tailor made to suit each
individuals taste. All the menus are designed to create an exquisite dining experience. Dishes
are creative, without being pretentious and the emphasis is put on local, fresh produce. It is
the ideal venue for a seminar or conference. Surrounded by vineyards, our expansive terrace
with views over the magnificent Drakenstein Mountains ensures you an unforgettable
experience.

You can browse through our interactive website, where you can download all the requested
information regarding the restaurant, menu and wine list.

Laborie Restaurant can accommodate 120 guests for banqueting style or conference seating.
The main restaurant is decorated Cape French style with the original yellow wood floors, dark
brown leather chairs and square yellow wood tables. A bar adjoins this fully air-conditioned
room.
A private dining room with a cosy fire place is excellent for smaller parties up to 30 guests.
In front of this beautiful old building, the terrace under old oak trees can also be used in
summer time for functions and receptions.

We have a 24 hour secured and lighted parking area.

For exclusive functions and conferences, the historic manor house and the lawn in front of the
manor house can be requested.

As from the end of 2009, a newly renovated guesthouse with 7 en suite rooms and private
lounge will be available.

The whole estate and vineyards are at your disposition for photographic purposes.

If necessary, our event manager will gladly assist you with the planning and co-ordination of
your private or corporate functions. We have an extensive list of favourite service providers
which we can recommend.

VENUE HIRE

A venue hire fee of R25 pp will be levied in addition to the menu price. All prices are inclusive
of VAT. The minimum venue hire is R750. If you prefer one of our conference packages (see
below) then the venue hire is already included in the package price.

If you require a full day and evening booking, an additional 50% on top of the normal rate will
be charged.

The venue hire includes the following:

• Exclusive use of the venue (main restaurant or private dining room) during the
conference.
• Quality Cutlery, Crockery and Glassware.
• Ice buckets & Ice.
• Setting the tables.
• White Napery and Linen.
• Chairs and Tables (dark leather chairs and square yellow wood tables. Round tables of
8 or 10 seats are also available).
• Clearing afterwards.
• Table numbers (wood with copper numbering).
• A Table Name Stand (cast iron).
• Secure parking with 24-hour security.
• Waiters.
• Bar Service (cash bar – open bar – mixed).
• White screen and cordless microphone.
• Podium.

A 10% service fee will be added only to the food and beverage bill. This service fee is not
included in the venue hire.

CONFERENCE PACKAGES

Breakfast Package (08h00 till 1200) R125 per person

• Coffee or Tea with Scones on arrival.


• Venue hire Private Dining room from 15-30 guests
Main restaurant from 30 – 120 guests
• Classic Pan-cook breakfast with coffee/tea and orange juice
(Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes & potato rosti and
toast)
• Jugs of water with lemon and mint at the conference tables
• Service fee 10% on the food and beverages included.

Late afternoon Package (15h00 till 19h00) R125 per person

• Coffee/Tea or juice on arrival.


• Venue hire Private Dining room from 15-30 guests
Main restaurant from 30-120 guests
• Finger Snacks and bruschetta’s with a glass of wine or cool drink
• Jugs of water with lemon and mint at the conference tables
• Service fee 10% on the food and beverages included.

Full day package (08h00 till 16h00) R230 per person

• Coffee/Tea or Juice with scones on arrival.


• Venue hire Private dining room from 15-30 guests
Main Restaurant form 30-120 guests
• A two course lunch – starter and main or main and dessert.
With a glass of wine or cool drink
• X-tra Coffee/ Tea in the afternoon or morning.
• Jugs of water with lemon and mint at the conference tables
• Service fee 10% on the food and beverages included.

½ Day packages (8h00 till 12h00) (15h00 till 19h00) R 75 per person

• Coffee/Tea or Juice on arrival


• Venue hire plus equipment
• Jugs of water with lemon and mint at the conference tables
• Coffee/Tea or Juice during a break
• Service fee 10% included

CONFIRMATION AND BOOKING

In order to confirm your booking, the venue hire is required as a deposit. Please mention your
name and date when you make a transfer. Laborie Restaurant reserves the right to withhold
the deposit until assessment of damages and extras has been made. The balance will be
repaid within 7 days after the function. The deposit is forfeited if a function is cancelled. We
accept payment by cash or bank transfer. Unfortunately credit cards are not accepted.
Please note: The above quoted rates are valid until 31 December 2010 where after provision
must be made for an increase of +/-10%. Although we will do our utmost to keep menu prices
constant until then, please bare in mind that certain menu items may fluctuate in price from
time to time.

NB. Final numbers and wine orders must be confirmed 10 days prior to the function.
You will be invoiced, seven days in advance. Food and beverages must be paid 5
days prior to the function.
