Life – Journey of Consciousness

On the dumb bosom of this oblivious globe,

Although as unknown beings we seem to meet.
Our lives are not aliens nor as strangers join,
Moved to each other by causeless force!
The soul can recognize its answering soul.
Across dividing Time and, on life’s roads
Absorbed wrapped traveller, turning it recovers
Familiar splendors in an unknown face
And touched by the warning fingers of swift love
It thrills again to an immortal joy!
Wearing a mortal body for delight
There is a power within that knows beyond
Our knowings; we are greater than our thoughts
And sometimes earth unveils that vision here
To live, to love are signs of infinite things
Love is a glory from eternity’s spheres.

Andrew: I am a Buddhist for the past twenty years. Are you a

Buddhist?

Taoshobuddha: A Buddha is not Buddhist!

So too a Christ is not Christian.

To be a Buddha is inner happening – transformation. And to

be a Buddhist is a social event.

Thus begins the dialogue between two inner spaces.

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 6

Life – Journey of Consciousness

Man as such is beggar who demands material things to fill the

empty emotional and intellectual spaces of his being thinking
this is the only way to happiness.

It is rare indeed that you come across a person who has

beyond body-mind realm tasted the nectar of awareness –
bliss – anand. And when you come across such person it is like
two empty spaces dissolving in one. This is synchronicity. Out
of this synchronicity only bliss overflows as creations of many
dimensions.

The association between Dhyan Anand and Taoshobuddha is

such an example of the grace from the unknown and
unknowable that cannot be condensed in words. Still you can
get the taste of this nectar.

Andrew through his works has been creating the aura of this
nectar so that people realize that there is something beyond
the matter the indestructible, eternal existence. This has been
the central theme of has talks and works.

When one dives into the title of the novel ‘Ten Minutes of
Forever’ one can definitely reach the essence or the inner
core of the novel.

When Andrew send me the file the title began to flash its light
of insights. And precisely it was the preposition ‘OF’ that
conveys the unsayable.

When Andrew was deciding upon the title an unknown force

has gripped his consciousness. He seemed to have focused his
attention on this preposition. Many times he thought of

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 7

Life – Journey of Consciousness

changing the word. But that force of the unknown got more
and more intense with each breath and he have been gripped
firmly by that force.

Andrew harnessed the force. Assimilated into his being! And

thus he translated that force into the novel through the
thought contents, dialogue, characters, choice of the words
and their synergistic arrangement. This is why there is so
much appeal.

Only this much for now! Let me take you through the
correspondence.

Hello everyone!

I got this email yesterday with a zillion names on it. It was

sent to me by Anil Sohoni, and even though I don't know Anil
personally, since I have a heart condition, I'm very grateful
that you sent it. Therefore, as a thank you, I am sending a
FREE (PDF) copy of my novel, Ten Minutes of Forever, to
EVERYONE whose name is on this email. There is no
obligation to buy the book... if you want to buy a physical copy,
you can get it directly from my publisher at www.xlibris.com
by emailing them at orders@xlibris.com. But again, there is no
obligation to buy my book. I'm just sending this as a gift
because you all were so thoughtful and sent me this email
detailing heart care. Thank you all so very much!!!

By the way, my novel is being reviewed by 6 major Hollywood

studios even as I write this and my agent tells me that we'll
have a major film deal before the end of the year! WooHoo!!!

Once again, thank you all for the wonderful email.

I hope you enjoy the novel.

Sincerely yours with the warmest regards,Andrew London

Good Morning dear Taoshobuddha,

Thank you once again for your beautiful email. I almost

missed this one as somehow it ended up in my SPAM folder.
I'm glad it didn't get deleted.

Thank you also for enlightening me on the differences

between you and Lars. Now I understand. Very good! It is
wonderful that you are grooming new writers to sow the
seeds of love and compassion. The world needs more authors
of this kind.

Thank you for the links to your magazine. I will visit often! I
am flattered that you would like to see my writing in your
magazine. These days I am writing less and meditating more,
but please, feel free to cut and paste any of my writing that
you think would fit into your magazine. You have the PDF
version of my novel. Simply cut and paste from there. The
version I sent you should be cut and pastable. If it is not, just
let me know, and I can send you the novel in a WORD.doc
format.

When you read through the novel, you'll come upon many
places where the main character goes into heavy soul-
searching. These episodes are taken directly from my talks
that I used to give from between 1989 to 1997. I don't speak
publicly anymore, but during those years I lectured at
anywhere that would have me... ISKCON Temples, Hindu
Ashrams, Buddhist Temples, Yoga Centers, etc.

Right now, I'm working on wrapping up this movie deal and

audio book deal and then I must retire from public life per my
guru's instructions. Ah, as much as I have enjoyed the public
life, I have to admit that I look forward to accepting Sannyasa
(my Dharma name is Dhyanananda) and retiring to my little
hermitage for the remaining years of my life to be spend in
quiet meditation without the hassle of TV, cell phones, PCs, or
the Internet.

Once again, thank you for your kindness and your friendship.
Do stay in touch.
I will pray for your mission's success.

Sincerely yours in the Dharma,

Andrew

Namaste dear Taoshobuddha,

Thank you for the nice email reply. Yes, destiny does seem to
have a way of bringing people together. It is very nice that we
share the same goals with our work of planting the seeds of
compassion and non-violence. I pray that your work is most
successful.

Actually, my public work is winding down and these days I

find myself writing less and meditating more. Currently, Ten
Minutes of Forever is being reviewed by six major Hollywood
studios. Hopefully a film deal will be forthcoming before the
end of this year. I’m also presently in negotiations with a
company in Ireland; they want to turn the novel into an audio
book. With an audio book and a film accompanying the novel,
my message will be out there in the public consciousness and
my public work will be done. Once all of this is complete, my
guru has given me the instructions to retire from the world,
accept Sannyasa, and spend the remainder of my life in quiet
mediation. I joyously look forward to being able to fulfill my
guru’s wish very soon.

Once again, thank you for your friendship and kind words.
Enjoy the rest of the week!
Sincerely yours in the Dharma,
Andrew

Beloved Andrew,

The picture on the cover page is mine. This is just to identify

that the book is connected with me otherwise Lars is
unknown and cannot be marketed as yet. He is being
groomed. In fact I wrote the book. However to create a new
range of writers I have allowed Lars to edit the book and let it
come in his name. All that is in Italics is by Lars. I do write on
behalf of friends once there is an opening.

Writing is an important tool. Writing takes you are to deeper

realms of consciousness. In a way it connects to the unknown
your Buddhahood. Sometimes after writing you are amazed at
your writing.

The editor of our monthly E magazine Meditation Times

Swami Anand Neelamber is one such person. He plans the
entire Times. All I do is write the articles according to the
theme. The august and September issue relates to the Hindu
scripture Ramayana and deals with its characters in their
pristine glory with the insights of a Buddha.

The October issue is intended to deal with the growth of

Naqshbandi Sufi path and masters in India and the Hindu
influence. May be two issues! This will be followed by the
third part of Ramayana dealing with the role of woman in
Ramayana.

I am attaching the links for these two issues. I will be really

happy to have your writing in Meditation Times. This is

Namaste dear Taoshobuddha,

Thank you so much for the chapter of your new book, LIFE -
Mystical Insights, as well as the book, The Secrets of Spiritual
Life. I haven't been able to read all of them, but from what I
have read thus far, they are wonderful! I've always said that
our society, our world, needs a major total global evolution of
consciousness. I even said that in the novel that I sent you.

Your books are much needed in this world. We need more

authors like you in this world. Too many authors and
publishers and movie producers are churning out rubbish. But
your work gives hope! Thanks once again for sending them.

However, I am at a loss. Are YOU Lars Jensens? You said Lars

edited the book, but you also said the book was from your
talks. Sorry for being so confused. As you can see, I'm not a
Buddha yet, for my intellect and wisdom are far from being
perfect... but I am diligently working on it. Thanks for the
kinds words concerning my book. Your book gives a beautiful
aura too!

Blessings,

Andrew London

Andrew – Taoshobuddha 7

Namaste dear Taoshobuddha,

Once again, thank you for your kind and beautiful words
regarding my writing. I am humbled, flattered, and over-joyed.
Just to be able to connect with another human being is like
sweet nectar.

Thus far, the book has been getting good reviews, although
the sales are slow in moving. There is one blogger that has
been attacking me since March. But I guess one bad review
isn't so bad. Maybe this person isn't a person at all, but a
demon? Even the Buddha was attacked by Devadatta... and we
all know what happened to Christ. Sometimes when I am
attacked, it makes me feel that I am on the right track and
doing my job correctly. Even Gandhi was murdered. The evil
in the world is overwhelming at times. Such is life in Samsara.
I have attached two files to this email. One is a WORD.doc and
the other is a PDF file. The text of both is identical. They are
the Dharma talks that I wrote and gave back in the 1990’s,
which I edited and inserted into the novel, Ten Minutes of
Forever. Feel free to use them in your fine magazine if you
think they will work for you. You can use my name, Andrew
London, or you can use my Dharma name, Dhyanananda. It
makes no difference to me, as I have neither pride nor ego. I
do not seek any compensation. These pieces are yours to use
freely as you see fit.

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 18

Life – Journey of Consciousness

Also, if you want to run the novel in your magazine, perhaps a

few pages an issue, again, feel free to do so. As I said before,
my agent and attorney are working on securing the film deal,
so I'm really not worried about sales of the book. The film deal
should net me a large enough paycheck to establish my
hermitage and take care of my humble needs for the
remainder of my life. My main concern right now is planting
the seeds of compassion and non-violence through the novel
itself. So if you want to share my book with your readers,
please, feel free to do so.

If any of them desire to purchase a copy of the book, it can be

bought at www.xlibris.com. And just for the record, I am
donating a large portion of the profits to the International
Society of Cow Protection as well as Sea Shepherd, to help
them protect our oceans.

Namaste dear Taoshobuddha,

All glories to God & Guru!

Please accept my humble obeisance!

How are you on this glorious morning? I hope you are doing
well. I pray this letter finds you in perfect health and even
better spirits. It has been very hot here for the past few
months, but the weather finally broke, and I rose to a very
cool and crisp morning! Jaya!

Dear one, you were so thoughtful in honoring my guru’s

wishes regarding my preparation for accepting Sannyasa and
renouncing the material world, and so I sincerely thank you
for understanding. Because of your thoughtfulness, I am
gifting you some more of my writings. They are attached to
this email. Again, feel free to do with them whatsoever you
wish.

The attachments are as follows:

1. one PDF copy of my essay “A Buddhist Case for

Vegetarianism”
2. one PDF copy of my essay “Buddhism and Meat-eating”
3. one PDF copy of my essay “Vegetarianism, Buddhism, &
the 1st Precept”

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 20

Life – Journey of Consciousness

4. one PDF copy of my booklet “World Peace Through

Meditation”
5. one PDF copy of my booklet “Going to Bed Hungry: A
Dialogue of Compassion”

Concerning the booklets “World Peace Through Meditation”

and “Going to Bed Hungry: A Dialogue of Compassion”, I’ve
also attached the original covers as well as the new PDF
version’s covers. The original books were longer than the PDF
versions. The PDF versions are short condensed booklets
containing only the most vital parts of the original book. Sadly,
the books did not sell well and have been out of print for
many years. However, these short versions will probably lend
themselves better to adaption in your magazine.

Both of these books were originally published years ago under

my Vaishnava name and/or titles. My guru does not belong to
any one religion, and therefore he doesn’t demand that his
disciples follow any one religion. We are free to follow any
religion we choose. All he asks is that we meditate daily.
Therefore, I simply used my Vaishnava name when I
published these books. If you recall, I told you that I have
written under various pen names during the past 15 years. It
was never my intention to confuse anyone; I was just trying to
reach specific audiences therefore I wrote under different
names so as not to confuse the public. I personally follow
Buddhism mainly with a smattering of Vaishnavaism.

“World Peace Through Meditation” was written many years

ago and published with the hope of bringing more peace to
the world. My guru has always said that, “If you change the
intellect of some people automatically the others will change.

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 21

Life – Journey of Consciousness

There are now ten people meditating here. If the minds of a

few change then there will be discussions among the people
here and they will discuss with others. Then the minds of the
other people also will change. That is what will happen.” My
guru is not concerned about the environment. He is concerned
with changing the people. Through meditation he is changing
the minds of the people. This way, when the people’s minds
are changed for the better, then the environment will be
healed and there will be no more wars. This is the reason I
wrote the book.

“Going to Bed Hungry: A Dialogue of Compassion” is a fiction

novella but it contains vital truths. It basically looks at the
Vaishnava idea of vegetarianism.

To this email, I’ve also attached one PDF copy of my beloved

Guru’s biography, as well as his photo, and my lineage in a JPG
file. This should give you a pretty good idea of my background.

My lineage looks more like a bush than a family tree. HA!

Indeed, I’ve been around the block a few times and spent
more than half my life doing my best to follow the Way, but I
am far from being enlightened. I think this is why my Guru has
instructed me to retire to a hermitage as soon as Ten Minutes
of Forever’s film deal is completed.

In my opinion, I feel that you and I crossed paths directly

because of my Guru! He told me, “Meditation is to control
one’s mind. You know this. Through meditation one can get
peace of mind. You know this too. You have written enough
books. Now you must meditate. When you practice
meditation, that is enough. The rest is in my hands. Tapas! I

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 22

Life – Journey of Consciousness

will take care of that. I will take care of you. You have my
blessings.”

So, as you see, he allowed us to meet… it is as you said,

destiny… so, you can take care of giving my writings to the
world and I can retire to meditate. I already meditate daily,
and have been meditating for many years. But now, when I
retire from writing and the material world, I can devote
myself to Tapas… meditating for 12 hours per day. But this is
not for me alone. The power generated through Tapas helps
all beings in the Universe.

But this is how he works. Some of my Guru’s disciples teach

meditation, others initiate people into my Guru’s lineage, still
others write books, run Ashrams, host meditation programs,
perform Bhajans and Kirtans, etc. When he feels one’s public
career has been enough, he instructs the disciple to retire and
meditate. This way, there are two armies working to combat
Maya. One army is working publicly to plant seeds of loving
compassion and non-violence by teaching meditation, while
the other army is silently meditating in Tapas, generating
incredible power that benefits all living beings in all realms of
existence. Even though these Hermit Yogis retire by
themselves and live a solitary life of quiet meditation, they
number in the millions!

Nonetheless, I believe this is why we have met! However it

will probably be some time before the film deal is completed
and I am paid and able to establish my hermitage. Until that
time, I will do whatever I can to help you spread the message
of love to our suffering world.

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 23

Life – Journey of Consciousness

Once again, I am grateful for your kindness, friendship, and

understanding!

Sincerely yours in the Dharma,

Andrew (aka: Dhyanananda)

PS: my photo on the cover of “World Peace Through

Meditation” is VERY old, taken about 10 to 15 years ago,
therefore I’m also attaching a recent picture of myself with my

Beloved Andrew,

The correspondence is still to be finalized and edited.

If you have to allow the pot to overflow what is needed? First

you have to fill it. This cannot be done in one effort. The
instrument or cup used to fill the pot and its capacity will
determine the time it will take. You can change the
instrument with a bigger capacity. You need to change the
capacity of the pot. This is what happens in the process of
spiritual development. If you are aware then with each
circumstance, meeting and situation will take to a different
level. And when the pot is full the overflow begins.

The master initiates a disciple only when he is on the

borderline.

To be meditative one need not renounce the world. All that is

needed is be in the world but do not allow the world in you.
The sense of doer-ship, attachment etc has to vanish.
Meditation means awareness.

Meditation is just to be! Not doing anything!

No action! No thought! No emotions! Just you are! And it is

sheer delight!

Neither the ancient techniques of meditation nor the Modern

scientific biofeedback techniques can ever lead to

meditativeness. Meditation is an understanding, an

experience of oneness – both inner and outer. It springs forth

from the deepest core of your being. An evolution! Just as no

doctor can give you health, so

too no master can give you meditation. Both meditation and

health belong to the fourth dimension. A dimension beyond
the known!

A master can only help you in removing the obstacles so that

meditation happens!

When you are one, suddenly you see this oneness outside. All
barriers vanish. There is no ‘i’, no ‘thou’. There is only god or

truth or samadhi or whatever you may call this. You may even
call this nirvana. Zen calls this sonoma or konomama. This is
pure ishness. Also this is suchness or what buddha calls
thathata.

One simply is. One is not doing anything. No thinking. No one

is feeling anything. This ishness is the ultimate experience of
bliss!

Beyond this there is nothing! This is eternal search. You have

arrived home. This is meditation!

Though meditation begins in the mind, it is not real

meditation. Begin with the mind. One day you will attain
meditation.

When the mind ceases, you are beyond it; Only then real
meditation begins.

Life – Journey of Consciousness

Even to go beyond the mind you have to use the mind itself.
However, use the mind negatively.

You will certainly attain meditation.

Excerpt Meditation the way to self realization - taoshobuddha

The very bounden duty of light is to dispel darkness. If light

fails to do so there will chaos in the world. Life will come to
stand still. This is the nature of light. The light continues to do
its bounden duty selflessly. This is the meditation of light.

So too the nature of a Buddha is awareness. Buddha is

awareness. This is one aspect - the truth and the another is to
bring this aspect or experience into action. If he fails to do so
he will be the cause of unrighteousness or the breakdown of
the cosmic harmony.

The actions of an ignorant one can be pardoned but not that

of the awakened one. His actions are free from doership. He
does nothing. But in his presence things happen. Sun does
nothing to the bloosoming of a flower but its presence act as
catalyst. In the chemical reaction between carbon and
Hydrogen Magnese Di oxide acts as catalyst and the outcome
is water. Thus this selfless activity becomes the meditation.

Meditation is the way to see or experience or realize the

invisible hands or energy at work behind every action,
happening, circumstance or situation. And then live by this
experience each finite and infinte moment. Why this energy is
at work. That is its nature. Krishna confirms this by saying:

Life – Journey of Consciousness

I do not have anything to gain in the three universe. Yet still I

engage in action ceasely because men follow my path.

This is what A Buddha says or does. This is his meditation. For

this he creates many devices.

REALIZATION.

Another book The Secrets of Sufism will be released from

India in Oct 2010.

All my books are vey popular in Europe and worldwide except

USA. These are available at major sites, Amazon, William
Smith, Christomos, Nile in Australia etc. There is no USA site
where these books are available. USA has its own system of
book program. I am looking for a suitable publisher in USA for
a few of the tiles.

Only this much for now.

Yes, I agree that teaching people how to communicate is very

important. It is a good place to start. One thing that I have
noticed is that while many people do enjoy reading books on
spirituality, very few people actually put into daily practice
what they have read. This is the main problem. Unless people
cultivate compassion and loving-kindness through their daily
practice, then reading all the books in the world will do them
no good.

This is why my Guru, Sri Shivabalayogi Maharaja, has always

said that it is better to obtain wisdom through first-hand
experience by meditation rather than getting knowledge
through second-hand experience by reading books. By writing
books, we allow the readers to see our experiences, but it is
still vital that they obtain their own experiences themselves
through their daily practice. Getting people to go from reading
books to actual practice has always been my main goal.

In today’s world so many people miss the point. For example,

the Buddha did not cease meditation after his enlightenment;
my beloved Guru did not cease meditation after his
enlightenment. But today, people hear that we are all
intrinsically Buddhas, and so they think they don’t have to
practice. Similarly, people are attached to so many bad things.
There are Buddhist monks that argue that one doesn’t have to
be a vegetarian to be a Buddhist, even though to eat meat is a
direct violation of the 1st Precept of Buddhism. Yes, there are
so many problems that it is overwhelming at times. This is one
reason I am so glad that our paths have crossed. It lifts my
spirit to know that you are hard at work to help our suffering
world.

It is wonderful that you are grooming so many people and

letting them drink from your font of wisdom!

Again, I must say that I am flattered and honored that you put
together that document of our correspondence on my behalf. I
did notice that one of my emails was posted twice in that
document, and that the order of emails was kind of out of
sequence. That might confuse some people. So you might want
to double-check the editing. Oh, and one more thing, if you
could insert my Guru’s name (Sri Shivabalayogi Maharaja) in
the document, I would be very grateful. Perhaps just put his
name at the first place I mention him, then every time after
that, when I wrote “my Guru” the reader would know who we
are talking about. Other than these few things, everything else
seems quite well and good.

I do hope that by broadcasting these letters to the public we

can really do some good for the world.

Yes, yes, you are right! We must teach what we have learned!
We must point the way to enlightenment so others can attain
the Goal. I agree wholeheartedly. You are certainly on the
right track by soaking your disciples in the essence of the
Truth. I sincerely bow to you again and again!

All those who are connected with me are now being soaked in

I had allowed Anil Sohoni to write the foreword for the work

The contents of the correspondance are in itself a piece of

has a message.

When Buddha was not allowed to contain his enlightenment

Beloved Andrew,
Something more from the Preface Cooking Taoshobuddha
way Vol 1.

BY Prem Sutra

Cooking lovingly! Cooking meditatively! Cooking for Buddhas!

Cooking for the transformation of human consciousness is
‘Cooking Taoshobuddha way or Buddha Way!’

It is indeed cooking for Buddhas. A strange, yet still a

meaningful title for a cook!

Cooking lovingly! Cooking meditatively! Cooking for Buddhas!

Cooking Taoshobuddha way or Buddha way or cooking for
Buddhas means the same thing. It is indeed a strange yet still a
meaningful title for a cook book. It says a lot. And this is the
beauty of it. First let me explain something of the title.
Taoshobuddha is an enlightened master. Very rarely a master
goes into cooking or does something like this. Although each
master remains particular about eating food cooked by each
and every one yet no effort was ever made in the past in this

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 40

Life – Journey of Consciousness

direction. When I asked Taoshobuddha about this, very

pleasantly in his usual manner he said something that reveals
the compassion of a master. Only an enlightened one can say
such a thing. This is what he said:

“Cooking Taoshobuddha means ‘Cooking for Buddha’;

‘Cooking lovingly’; ‘Cooking meditatively’. Only then there can
be total transformation of human consciousness. Only then we
can create a new man who is balanced both inner and outer.

Life is a journey of transcendence. It is a moment to moment

journey of awareness. As such man exists at three planes. In
ordinary human being these planes remain muddled. And
because of this there is no clarity and inward journey gets
impeded.

In case of an enlightened one the planes remain the same.

However these exist in their right perspective. Also these do
not overlap one another in an enlightened one.

These three planes are:

1. The plane of silence the unheard the uncreated one.

This is the plane where the master or the enlightened one
dwells. He prefers to remain there. But from this plane the
transformation cannot happen. Very unlikely you will find
aspirants who are at this plane. However when the aspirant is
within the energy field of the enlightened one he is touched by
this state of awareness at times. Still this state is not
permanent. This is the plane where I dwell. I would not like to
come out of this state. But then I will be failing in my
responsibilities for the birth of a new human being. One who

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 41

Life – Journey of Consciousness

is beyond dualities and conflicts? He is religious beyond the

dimensions of all the religions and narrowness.

2. The second is the plane of intellect. Many are there at

this plane. Or think that from this plane they can understand
the deeper aspects of inwards journey at least intellectually.
Again they are mistaken. At this plane people give their own
meaning to the words and message. Still it is a plane from
where one can communicate to all those who are at this plane
to varying degrees. For these people I have made myself
available through scores of books, and other materials, audio
and video talks internationally. Also I have weekly
meditations in Boston, Sweden, Vancouver, Florida, Miami,
and New York. These I conduct from here.

In addition there are two published books. And there are 18 E-

books and Monthly E magazine ‘MEDITATION TIMES’.
Currently I am doing a book ‘TASAWWRE SHEIKH’ as
reminiscences of my father of his master.

3. And last is the most common plane where you will find
vast majority of humanity even those who are on the second
plane are to certain varying degrees remain mixed up with
this third plane. This is the plane that relates to food sheath.
Food is necessary for the survival of the body. We quote
‘Annm! b&hm!’ But do not understand the essence of this.

The people who are at this plane are the ones who have
suppressed sex. Also they lack the understanding of this
biological energy. There is not only misunderstanding instead
lack of awareness as well. All those who have suppressed sex
get interested in food. India has suppressed sex down the ages

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 42

Life – Journey of Consciousness

for various reasons and the outcome is so many spicy and

pungent dishes. Nowhere else so many dishes have developed
as in India.

West has been slightly different. Sex is not suppressed. But

there is no fulfilment. One can suppress sex that India did, or
what the west did still it lacks fulfilment. Suppression and un-
fulfilment are two sides of the same coin.

This problem has to be addressed. In the past masters have

taken notice of this and abstained eating food from others. But
they have done nothing to offset this problem. Without this
new man cannot take birth out of you. Without this all rituals,
worship etc. remains meaningless.

I have taken to cooking and thus bring my awareness to the

vast majority who are not interested in things at higher rungs.
Whether they are interested in meditation, or discourses they
will definitely be interested in food. How to reach these
persons was on my mind. This life I have chosen to work at all
the planes.

Through my awareness I am fulfilling the missing dimension

in the life of those who are either suppressed or unfulfilled as
far as the sex is concerned. When I looked into the lives of all
those who are interested in food somewhere or the other this
needs to be fulfilled. Direct involvement method cannot be
used. I have to devise system and methods that can be utilized
with effective results. I have devised certain meditations as
well to transform negativities at personal and cosmic levels.
These incorporate breathing at body level, introspection at
mental level and compassion at the level of the being. These

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 43

Life – Journey of Consciousness

are yet to be given the final shape through the cook book
‘COOKING TAOSHOBUDDHA WAY’.

Masters need to do this. Mere rituals, scriptures etc. cannot

transform them. This is the reason I have gone into cooking.
Maybe persons will be benefited to varying degrees. One thing
is certain though:

‘In the barren soils of thy inner sanctumOft do I use the

manure of compassion,Then one day seed of awakening I sow
With the rain of thy infinite blissThe seed shall sprout one
dayAnd then reckoning shall reap the fruitsAt the dawn of
new awakening!’

Taoshobuddha [Reproduced from Letter to Swami

Atmananda]

It implies each act related to cooking be an act of awareness.

When you live a life full of awareness even the small
happening, moments, and events become moments of great
revelation. In the absence of all this even the moments of
benedictions turn out to be meaningless. It is therefore
transform you’re cooking into an event of benediction, joy,
fulfillment, and meditation.

You can eat the most nourishing food unhappy; full of

complaints, frustration, and lack of awareness in that case you
are like a common fly that transforms the nourishment into
putrefied food. And on the contrary if you take the non –
nourishing food full of happiness, joy, celebration, awareness,
and gratitude then even this non – nourishing food becomes
life giving one. It all depends on you, your awareness. In that
case you become like a fruit plant that is nourished with all

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 44

Life – Journey of Consciousness

that is rotten, and irrigated with dirty water the plants

transform all this into life nourishing and healthy final result.
Remember fruit juices are considered healthy and source of
nourishment.

With such an understanding we enter into cooking

meditatively, lovingly and full of awareness.

This is cooking the TAOSHOBUDDHA WAY or the BUDDHA

WAY.

COOKING MEDITATIVELY…COOKING WITH AWARENESS!'

I met Taoshobuddha in 1992 – 1993 upon the insistence of

another aspirant. I had met him on the bus travelling on my
way to the office in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago. He
kept on talking about his master, kept talking about all that he
had learnt from his master.

I was subsequently invited to one of Taoshobuddha talks and I

remember trying to judge which one of the new faces I was
seeing, faces I was seeing for the first time was that of
Taoshobuddha.

Not this one, not that one…and then I saw him, a gentle man…
a beautiful man very relaxed person and I just knew that he
was the one…

It has been a life transforming experience. After this meeting I

could not remain the same. Something transformed or
something new born in me. Maybe I am resurrected. No more
old habits instead a life full of jot and benediction.

Correspondence Andrew London - Taoshobuddha Page 45

Life – Journey of Consciousness

Fast forward to present day. I always had an interest in

cooking, always interested in learning more about cooking
and when I was introduced to east Indian cooking I was
fascinated. I always described East Indian food as ‘Food of the
Gods’. The variety of spices, special blends, the aesthetic look
of dishes, and the taste always enchanted and overwhelmed
me.

So one day I asked Taoshobuddha to show me some

techniques of Indian cooking. This was the beginning of
cooking classes at the temple and I was given the job of
coordinating various activities like menu planning, interacting
with other participants, taking care of the taste demands of
others, and finally compiling the recipes that we created at
these classes.

One thing that I have learned in the company of

Taoshobuddha through these classes that one should not cook
when one is angry, depressed. Subtly such vibrations are
transferred into the food. Cooking is never a burden. Instead it
is an explosion of joy and sharing one’s being with others. One
should cook lovingly as if you are meditating.

Preparing the vegetables, holding the knife in a loving

manner, knowing that one is cooking for the Beloved are
certain guidelines that Taoshobuddha infused into cooking. To
him everything is meditation and cooking is one of the most
significant acts. Whole life is meditation. Only then you can be
transformed.

In the preparation of this work I got tremendous support and

help at each step from many quarters. The foremost support
came from Taoshobuddha who not only introduced me and all

the participants and through this book to all those who seek
transformation, into a unique

meditative way of cooking. And thus making meditation way

of our day to day life!

Swami Anand Neelambar for his expertise in formatting the

entire book into such a unique way and his usual talks!
Dayani, Sandra, Peter, Shiva, Kabir, and all other participants
who day in and day out supported and encouraged in bringing
the work to this stage!

I am thankful to … of New York Institute of Cooking for their

support, review and valuable suggestions that will go a long
way.

Bonne Appetite!
