Business Insights covers both the drug discovery and healthcare markets with its reports. It provides
comprehensive market reports, which are categorised by sub-divisions such as: Biotech and R&D, Cardiovascular,
Oncology, pricing and Strategy. Some reports relate to a specific geographic region, others are global reports.
The database offers a range of options for downloading or viewing the reports, for example tables from reports can
be downloaded to Word or Excel, and reports can be machine-translated into a number of different languages.

Business Source Complete

It includes a number of Industry Profiles on a variety of healthcare and pharmaceutical subjects from publishers
such as Datamonitor, EIU and Icon Group. Market Research Reports on these subject areas include brief reports
from Gartner, some “Black” and “White” Books on different topics from Bernstein Global Wealth Management, and
Pharmawatch from Datamonitor.
Datamonitor Company profiles are available for a large number of companies in these fields. Profiles contain SWOT
analysis, company profile and executives information.

Healthcare & Pharma is one of the four broad sectors covered by this database. It offers Same-day Analysis,
Special Reports, and Geographic Analysis. Also provides access to some statistical data through the Data Insight
Web link, and offers a database of approved drugs, and also an R&D database.

Is a useful source of statistical data, research reports and company profiles on the OTC Healthcare market.

Database of company and industry analyst’s reports. The longer reports often contain useful market information.

ISI Emerging Markets

News, statistics and industry reports for a number of emerging market countries. Please note our subscription
covers only the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China), also Datamonitor Reports are sometimes listed
but these are not included in the subscription and as a premium service must be purchased. Reports may be in
English or local language.

Market reports on some OTC pharmaceuticals such as cold and flu remedies, and analgesics.

Company & Financial Data

AMADEUS (European Private and Public companies), FAME (UK Private and Public companies) and OSIRIS
(Global Public companies), all offer the ability to download accounts data into Excel. Availability for all of these
databases except Capital IQ is global.

Bloomberg
Contains information on international companies and markets. Provides company descriptions, 5 –10 years of
financials, company and industrial news. For financial data use the function FA, for analysts’ coverage and
recommendations use ANR, for M & A data use MA and then choose option 1. N.B. Only printing is available; no
downloading is permitted within our academic licence.

Capital IQ
Coverage: international companies, PE investment.
It includes both public and private companies. It offers a wide range of different data, company profiles, financials,
executives, subsidiaries, news and capital changes, stock data, peer group analysis and industry data.
Company and executive relationships can be explored and projects can be saved.

Datastream
Offers downloadable accounts data as well as equity and bond data. Price data for pharmaceutical and healthcare
sector indices can also be downloaded.

Business Source Complete
In addition to market research reports and industry profiles, it also has many articles on a variety of health and
pharma topics. Journal titles covered in Full Text include Healthcare Management Review, Healthcare Financial
Management, Pharmaceuticals, Policy and Law and PharmacoEconomics.

Emerald
Emerald covers the subject of Healthcare Management which includes journal titles such as Clinical Performance
and Quality Healthcare, Journal of Health Organisation and Management, and Leadership in Health Services.

Factiva
Factiva comprises some 8,000 sources in 22 languages from 118 countries, including a large number of trade
publications and news wires from the healthcare and pharma industries. Use the Intelligent Indexing Select a
Source by Category in order to include all relevant industry sources in your search.

Proquest ABI
Not just a database of management theory, PQD covers a large number of trade press sources which contain vital
commentary on markets and products, including a wide range of healthcare and pharma topics. Use the subject list
to look up the words and phrases used as indexing terms for both industries and concepts.

Science Direct.
Provides access to a huge number of “health sciences” journals. Please note our subscription includes many but not
all of the titles held in the database. Please note it is also possible to search the Medline database (abstracts only)
from within Science Direct.

World Health Organisation

http://www.who.org The World Health Organisation website provides a large amount of data on disease incidence
and treatment around the world. Includes health profiles for all countries that are members of the WHO. The site
