THE CHATLINE

Oct/Nov 2010

Editorial: Alas, summer is drawing to a close, but our Scouting carries

on with plenty to look forward to including the Blakfoot Hike, our Carol sing-a-
long, winter camps, etc. Try and look for something new to experience this
winter . Ever tried ski-ing or snow-boarding? If we get snow, how about building
a proper igloo and sleeping in it (even if we don’t get snow you would have
researched and learnt how to do it.) Or, how about building a small landyacht (go-
kart with sails) ready for the spring winds on Formby beach. Whatever you do,
have fun doing it and have a great autumn and winter season.

DC’s BIT
Warrington West District has had a great summer. Attendance at Chamboree from
out Groups and Units was fantastic. We were easily the biggest District represented
on the event. This included all sections, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and
Network. I hope you all enjoyed the experience and thank you to all the Leaders

This next Scouting year looks to be a full and enjoyable twelve months.

NOVEMBER—the month when we parade on Re-
membrance Sunday. Perhaps more poignant this
year with the recent deaths of our soldiers in Af-
ghanistan, particularly the young lads from Warring-
ton.. So, perhaps, besides showing our respect by
smartening up our walking we can also brush up on
our flag protocol.
