There are 3 ways of knowing a verb from this chapter:

1. If the ‫ ﻋﲔ ﺍﻟﻜﻠﻤﺔ‬is a ‫ﻱ‬

‫ﺠﻲ ُﺀ‬‫ﺎﺀ – ﻳ‬‫ﺟ‬ originally ‫ﻲ َﺀ‬ ‫ﺟ‬ Remember

the rule
(see file #5)
If ‫ ﻭ‬or ‫ ﻱ‬is
‫ﻙ‬‫ﺤﺮ‬
 ‫ﺘ‬‫ﻣ‬ and

2. When the ‫ﻻﻡ ﺍﻟﻜﻠﻤﺔ‬ is a ‫ ﻱ‬with the condition that ‫ ﻋﲔ ﺍﻟﻜﻠﻤﺔ‬is NOT from the letter
before it
bears a ‫ﺔ‬‫ﻓﹶﺘﺤ‬,
‫ﻑ ﺍﳊﹶﻠﻖ‬‫ﺣﺮ‬ (throat letters i.e. ‫ ﻩ‬/‫ﺥ‬/‫ﺡ‬/‫ﻍ‬/‫ﻉ‬/‫) ﺀ‬ the ‫ ﻭ‬or ‫ﻱ‬
is
turned/chan
Heavy on the tongue, so drop the ‫ضمّة‬
َ ged to ‫ﻒ‬‫ﺃﻟ‬

‫ﻲ‬‫ﻳ ﹾﺄﺗ‬ (‫ﻲ‬ ‫ﺗ‬‫ﻳ ﹾﺄ‬) – ‫ﻰ‬‫ﹶﺃﺗ‬ originally ‫ﻲ‬ ‫ـ‬

َ ‫ﺃﹶﺗ‬

Remember the rule (see file #5)

‫( ى‬alif maqsoora/undotted ‫ )ي‬is used instead of ‫( ا‬alif
mamdoodah/elongation alif) due to it being originally a
‫ ي‬before the principle was applied. (both represent ‫)ألف‬

Side benefit:

‫ أتى‬means came.
In Surah an-Nahl:1, Allaah said:

‫ﻩ‬ ‫ﺠﻠﹸﻮ‬
‫ﻌ ﹺ‬ ‫ﺘ‬‫ﺴ‬
 ‫ﺗ‬ ‫ﻪ ﹶﻓﻠﹶﺎ‬ ‫ﺮ ﺍﻟﻠﱠـ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺗﻰٰ ﹶﺃ‬‫ﹶﺃ‬
The Event (the Hour or the punishment of disbelievers and polytheists or the Islamic laws or
commandments), ordained by Allah will come to pass, so seek not to hasten it.

‫ أَ ْم ُر اللَّـ ِه‬- means The Event, another name for The Day of Judgment. Allaah said ‫ﻪ‬ ‫ﺍﻟﻠﱠـ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺗﻰٰ ﹶﺃ‬‫ ﹶﺃ‬using
the past verb ‫ﺃﺗﻰ‬. The question is, has the Day of Judgment come?

This is where Balaghah comes in. Within yourself, which do you believe most, something that HAS
happened or something that WILL happen yet? Of course, we believe without any shadow of doubt
the thing that HAS happened already, with certainty. Because believing in what has happened

\\\\
becomes more certain than the things that still remains to be seen, Allaah used the past verb because
He wants us to believe on the Day of Judgement with a strong and certain belief AS IF it has already
happened.

3. If the ‫ ﻓﺎﺀ ﺍﻟﻜﻠﻤﺔ‬is a ‫ ﻭ‬with the condition that ‫ﻻﻡ ﺍﻟﻜﻠﻤﺔ‬ is not from ‫ﺍﳊﹶﻠﻖ‬ ‫ﻑ‬
 ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﺣ‬

Principle No other vowel suits ‫ و‬except ‫ضمة‬. So, if it falls between its 2 of its enemies i.e. ‫فتحة‬
and ‫ كسرة‬, it is dropped.

Work on this:

‫ ؟؟؟؟‬- ‫ﺐ‬
 ‫ﺟ‬ ‫ﻭ‬

‫ﻌ ﹸﻞ‬ ‫ﺐ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻭﺯﻥ ﹶﻓ‬

 ‫ﺠ‬
‫ﻳ ﹺ‬ --- ‫ﺐ‬
 ‫ﺠ‬
‫ﻳ ﹺ‬ – ‫ﺐ‬
 ‫ﻮ ﹺﺟ‬ ‫ﻳ‬ – ‫ﺐ‬
 ‫ﺟ‬ ‫ﻭ‬
Remember the Principle (see file # 5)

If a letter is dropped from the ‫ موزون‬, it should also Enemies of ‫و‬

be dropped from the ‫وزن‬.
