Philippines Will Challenge Indonesia in AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 semifinals. The Philippines became the
runner-up Group B, after draw against against Myanmar (0-0), Wednesday (08/12/2010).

In another Group B match, Vietnam beat Singapore 1-0 successfully. The victory was making Vietnam
emerge as winners of Group B and will meet Malaysia in the semifinals.

The Philippines does not have a tradition of football. However, now they seem to have started up and
reckoned worthy. Their victory 2-0 over host Vietnam and Singapore 0-0.

Indonesia can not underestimate the Philippines, although in previous meetings always win. Because,
under young coach Simon McMenemey, Philippines appear neat and have high self confidence.

At the last Group A match AFF Suzuki Cup 2010, Indonesia had beaten Thailand through two penalty
goals from Bambang Pamungkas and deliver a 2-1 victory for Indonesia, Tuesday, 12/07/2010. These
results have been passed Malaysia to the semifinals. Thailand was eliminated because Malaysia had
beaten Laos with the scores 5-1.

Indonesia, which fell without a number of major players, including captain Firman Utina to beat Thailand.
This is a revival of the Indonesian National Team after a decline for several years and have never won at
the level of South East Asia.

So far, Indonesia has won 9 times and 20 times less than Thailand in various championships. However,
Thailand is now trained by former famous football player Bryan RobsonBryan Robson from England were
powerless to resist Indonesia.

We just imagine if all of Indonesia's main players down, maybe Thailand will meet the same fate as
Malaysia and Laos, losing by a lot of goals. In the future, Indonesia will become the new giants of football
in South East Asia, Asia and the World.

Over this victory and advanced to the next round, the bonus has been provided by the Football
Association of Indonesia (PSSI) as much as Rp. 500 million for Indonesian National Team. If a champion,

President praises national team`s performance at Asean Cup

Karangasem, Bali (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has praised the national
football team`s performance at the ASEAN Football Championship.

The president made the commendation in remarks at the opening of a shrimp production center in
Bugbug village, Karangasem district, on Monday.

"This is a good start. It proves that Indonesia can be successful in football," the president said.

But he also cautioned the Indonesian football team not remain content with its victory at the ASEAN
championship where it had beaten Malaysia 5-1 and Laos 6-1. The president asked the team members to
make its win a spur to further improve its performance in the days ahead.

The President recalled the moment when he last watched a friendly match between Indonesian and
Uruguay. At the time, Indonesia was beaten 1-7 by the World Cup 2010 finalist.

"I felt sad at the time. But the national team has since continued to develop its capability and we can see
the result now," said Yudhoyono.
