Career History

Vero / Suncorp (Vero Centre Auckland NZ) May 2008 Present


Working on the IS service desk my main role was to provide a high
level of service and 1st line technical support to Vero / Guardian Trust /
Tyndal / Suncorp and Promina end users. This role is varied and
involves supporting both well known and in-house bespoke systems,
AS400 apps, Linux / UNIX, Microsoft applications, Active directory,
Exchange and Lotus notes as well as a full IP telephony network across
multiple branches. I also had responsibility for change management
from a service desk perspective (Reporting changes to the business
and attending the change meetings). My role also involved coaching
and supporting new members of the team. Most aspects of this post
involved taking ownership of logged calls through to a satisfactory
resolution with customer care and satisfaction at the forefront of
everything that I do. Vero has just been classified as a gold winner and
world class organization.

I have held various temp posts while studying part time.

Fujitsu 1st line support) Feb 2006 - Oct 2006

First line technician I worked for Fujitsu UK supporting and


troubleshooting TCP/IP and internet connection problems, as well as
general desktop support issues. I also helped and advised customers
with spyware and virus removal. This position lasted for about 6
months when I was made redundant, 20th Oct 2006. Fully competent
troubleshooting home network issues, WAN, using remote access
technologies where appropriate. My role supported the following
platforms; NT, XP, win 95/2000 and MAC. I can now also troubleshoot
within Vista. I worked for one of the UK's most popular and largest ISP's
with a customer base of at least 50,000.

After finishing my last contract I have been studying part time to gain
some intermediate to advanced IT skills to give myself more of an edge
in the workplace. I am looking for IT based roles within the Auckland
area with a view to Junior to Intermediate level permanent or contract
posts.

My main responsibilities included helping and advising customers on


financial products including Mortgage products, General Insurance,
Banking, Credit, Loans and Life products. Abbey is one of the market
leaders for personal finance in the UK. I learnt the skills of technical
underwriting as I was selling the products.

some experience within the care industry all positions were undertaken

Customer service Advisor (Mortgage Contact Centre) – My role was


based in the post completions customer service department. I was
handling calls from Woolwich and Barclays customers, helping and
advising them with matters such as redemptions, rate changes,
complaints and any other ad hoc task that was required i.e. amending
customer details and direct debit instructions as well as general admin
tasks. I also had experience of Lotus notes, configuring the email client
and also fax to email services. I also had some supervisory experience
in this post looking after and training a team of 15 members. The
Woolwich and Barclays are leaders in the UK finance market. I was
using Lotus Notes throughout this role.

Hobbies and Interests

I am well travelled and have spent time exploring New Zealand and
Canada during 2006 as well as Europe during 2007. Whilst travelling I
have taken the time to become more culturally aware. I also enjoy a
good book, and world cinema. I keep up with current affairs and local
politics and have a wide varied circle of friends. I am also planning to
marry in 2009. I am now going through the process of immigrating to
New Zealand to pursue my long term career aims and take up new
challenges.

Other Information
I arrived in New Zealand on the 1st April and have in my possession a
valid work visa. I am able to undertake permanent and contract work
within IT / Customer Service and Administration type roles, with a view
to a more permanent post leading to a permanent residence.
