Our commitment: To train and disciple Paraguayans to impact their nation for Christ.

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!

yours!
“God, please send us snow so I can make a snowman this year.” –Timmy said that prayer last night
while we were sitting in front of the fan sweating buckets and watching “The Christmas Story”. Even
though there’s no snow on the ground, we’re in the Christmas spirit! Looking back on the year, there
are many words that describe 2010 for our family.

Transition: We left the radio station we’ve been serving since 2002 in capable hands in January.
“What are we going to do now?”, you might be thinking. We’re preparing to launch a leadership
institute called ICCI (Instituto de Capacitacion Cristiana Integral) in March 2011 and this year we’ve
been steadily working toward that goal. In preparation for our leadership school, we began piloting
micro-enterprise endeavors such as our chicken and peanut projects.

Thank you for your prayers and incredible support as we

forge new territory with the leadership training
institute. [Enter shameless plug: We have
a great need of $10,000 to launch ICCI in just three months.
For every dollar you donate til Dec. 31, a donor will match it!
See below for details. End shameless plug.]

Norberto was able to represent CMA (Christian Motorcycle Julie plucking chicken
Association) Paraguay at the international conference and present the new leader. Julie is turning over
her role as Children of Promise director at the end of the month. It’s been a great seven years and the
children’s program will move forward into the capable hands of a young Paraguayan.

Service: We were able to distribute 11 motorcycles this year through CMA, host two wonderful
interns (thanks David and Zach), distribute mosquito nets, tools, seeds, blankets and more through
Missionary Ventures’ Christmas Projects. We loved working again this year with children through the
Explorer’s Club and teaching Sunday School.

Patience: We continue to move forward slowly on the

construction of our home (we started in 2007!) and we not-so
patiently await the completion of our adoption of a
Paraguayan orphan (14 months and counting).

Celebration:
Celebration: We’ve been married 10 years, Timmy
turned five and is growing into a little engineer. He
loves to build and destruct! He will start kindergarten in February. Timmy’s 5th birthday

Protection: Julie was attacked by a burglar who entered into our

home early one morning in October. We thank God that neither
she nor Timmy were hurt.

Pause:
Pause: This year we’ve slowed down some and took more time to
pray and to seek God’s face in the midst of an ever-
changing environment. We want to move in faith and say
that with each passing year we trust God more.

Gratefulness
Gratefulness:
ness: We’re increasingly grateful
for the opportunity to serve in Paraguay, for our health, for family,
for God’s love and abundant grace. We’re so appreciative of your love
& support. We’d like to say the two most powerful, life-transforming,
joy-infused words we know... Thank you. Timmy’s Preschool pic

Merry Christmas and a blessed new year!

Norberto, Julie and Timmy

Matching Grant Challenge Ends December 31st!

Please hurry, friends! Some friends of Paraguay are willing to match any gift given to the
Leadership Training School (ICCI) up to $5,000 that is given before December 31st and we
need your help to reach the full amount of the donation!

That means that when you donate, (Please preference your gift for Paraguay Bible
School) a contribution of equal value comes from an anonymous source and effectively
doubles the impact of your giving. If you give $100, it's matched by another $100 and the
ministry receives a total of $200.

If you are considering a donation to help start this school to train up future Paraguayan
Christian leaders, please don't think too hard! We need your gift! The reality of the
approaching starting date (March 2011) is looming above our heads. While we are not yet
fretting about the lack of funds, we need more people to come on board with the vision
to transform the next generation of Paraguayans with the love of Jesus. We still have a
long list of needs that the funds will be used for.

Now is a great time to give if you haven't done so yet, and a great time to give a little bit
more if you can. We'd really like to raise all $5000 needed to max out our challenge
grant, and every donation helps!

You can make checks payable to:
