And Muslim Adolescents Life Style

STMJ, what is it? You must be thinking that is Susu + Madu + Telor + Jahe.
No, it's not. If you wanna know, let's having a bit of talks about this.

Dear my Muslim brothers and sisters,

STMJ is abbreviation of “Shalat Terus, Maksiat Jalan terus”. This STMJ is a modern life
style that assumed good by mostly adolescents. We can see that in reality, many
adolescents look diligent to come for praying five times to the mosque, but on the other
hand, they do violation (to the God) constantly. Why does it can happen? While, in the
holy Quran Allah SWT said:

‫وحي إليك من الكتاب وأقم الصلة إن الصلة تنهى عن الفحشاء والمنكر ولذكر الله أكبر والله يعلم ما تصنعون‬1‫ ما أ‬1‫اتل‬

“Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer:
for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the
greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do”.
[Al-Ankaboot: 45]

If we do Prayer only to abort our duty as His servant, so our Prayers could not prevent us
from shameful and unjust deeds. It means, our Prayers are not yet true and we are
necessary to improve it. That's why? Because, if our Prayers were true and genuinely
realize the meaning of Prayer, so Insya Allah we can prevent ourselves to do immorality
(to the God). Therefore, to make this behavior (STMJ) disappear from our lifestyle, we
have to increase and improve our Prayer (by doing truly and sincere only to the God).

What should we do when we see immorality actions?

In a hadits of Rasulullah SAW said:

‫ فإن ل يستطع‬، ‫ من رأى منكم منكرا فليغيه بيده‬- ‫ قال سعت رسول ال صلى ال عليه وسلم يقول‬: ‫عن أب سعيد الدري – رضي ال عنه – قال‬
‫ رواه مسلم‬- ‫ فإن ل يستطع فبقلبه و ذلك أضعف اليان‬، ‫فبلسانه‬

On the authority of Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: “I
heard the Messenger of Allah (may the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) says:
“Whosoever of you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not
able to do so, then with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart
and that is the weakest of faith”. [It was related by Muslim no. 49]

However, teen-age is adolescents time to find their spirit (identity). They start to look
for proper life style and according to their personalizing. They also begin to look for an
idol that can be made leader, good in lifestyle livelihood, good in speaks, appearance,
and others. Finally, we can meet them with various attributes only imitate their idols. In
teen-age, idol influence really very strong. Idol or figure will restrain our alive may be
without we shall realize. Best of the best for us to be made model in our life is
Muhammad SAW, the honorable Prophet and the Messenger of God.
