CARBON CALCULATION ZERO…

Mission: To organize ourselves into having a carbon footprint that measures zero.
How? We will do this by calculating our footprint, constructing a plan to reduce our foot print and organizing ourselves to plant the relevant
number of trees required to offset our carbon emissions.

1. C lick here to c alculate your carbon footprint and complete the table below. To calculate your family’s foot print, multiply your
foot print by the number of people in your family. Show your calculations in the spaces provided.

2. Think and Discuss: How many trees should you plant to offset the emissions of your family?

How could you organize to do this? Brainstorm Ideas and then create a plan to show the steps you could take.

it when you need to).
5. Research ways to reduce your footprint.

Gather information from three different sources about ways to reduce your carbon foot print.

Information Source One: Information Source Two: Information Source Three:

6. Identify trends: What were the three most common recommendations?

7. Select: What three recommendations will you try to follow and why?
8. Reflect: What do you think the following groups should do about the carbon foot print problem.
