This form is designed to get you thinking about your project in readiness for writing a full
research proposal. You will be given more guidance later on about how to design your project
but ultimately its design will be dependent on what you want to achieve from it and only you can
decide that.

It is important that you choose a topic that really interests you. Without this interest you will not
have the motivation to do all that is necessary to complete your dissertation satisfactorily.

Remember your dissertation will be a research report not an essay. So you need to set yourself
a question for which you will need to collect data in order to find an answer. You need a topic
title that points you clearly in the direction of an investigation rather than a general area to write
about.

2. What is the particular question you want your investigation to answer – i.e. your topic title?

Ans:To determine ICT adoption barriers in leveraging benefits in developing countries: A Case
Study.
3. Why do you want to do this particular project?
Thinking beyond the aim contained in your title, what do you hope to achieve for yourself as a
result of doing this project? E.g. Help your career; develop your understanding of a particular
management or business process; develop your ability to tackle management or business
problems.

Ans: This topic is of my particular interest as ICT being one of the primary factor increasing gap
(digital divide) between developed and developing countries in this modern(electronic) era. So
thereby this research can help me to improve my knowledge on one of the current trends.

4. Describe briefly the main purpose of your investigation.

E.g. Is it a problem you want to find a solution for? Is there something you have observed that
you want to explain? Is there some behaviour or activity that you want to evaluate?
Ans: Being ICT (e-comeerce) of my interest area I have researched to know why developing
countries like India are not able to cherish the benefits out of modern technologies such as e-
business/e-commerce, as of their counterparts developed countries like USA, UK. I did find
different issues related to the adoption of ICT/ e-commerce but there weren’t any findings that
are in common to the one another. So with my research I would like to gather different issues
related to adoption and how an organisation in a developing country with similar environment
(as that of the study in context) can overcome these barriers. Therefore my research is
expected to serve entrepreneurs in the developing countries to become e-ready for benefiting
through implementation of ICT.

5. In order to answer the question of your title, what information do you think you will need to
obtain?
Consider both your main purpose and factors related to it or likely to be affecting it. This list of
information will be your starting point for deciding your research objectives.
Ans: Information on constraints, inhibitors, environmental...... factors related to the adoption of
ICT/e-commerce.

6. Finally, what sources of data do you think you might draw on to get your information?
E.g. Observation, Newspapers, Journal articles, Trade press Advertisements, People-using
interviews or questionnaires, Government statistics or other Documents.
Ans: Most of the information is expected to gathered through past researches published in
journals, Newspapers and academic books etc.,
