Type of Smoker

There are a few types of smokers based on cigarettes consumed per day. In high school,
our subject Health covered smoking. The standards for classifying smokers based on
consumption are dependent on the society. A standard used in the Philippines is different
from the standard used in Taiwan. There is no exact quantity of cigarette consumption a
“heavy smoker” smokes on a daily basis, only estimates. For a good tip on how to stop
smoking, please read “Tip on How to Stop Smoking: Chew Your Cigarettes” and see if it
will help you curb your addiction to nicotine. Actually, type of smokers can be devided
into some types: chain smoker, heavy smoker, moderate smoker, light smoker, casual
smoker.

The frist Chain smoking is the practice of lighting a new cigarette for personal
consumption immediately after one that is finished, sometimes using the finished
cigarette to light the next one. It is a common form of addiction.

The second Heavy smokers (more than 15 cigarettes per day) can reduce their risk of
lung cancer if they decrease smoking by 50 percent, according to a study in the
September 28 issue of JAMA. Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death
worldwide, and an estimated 90 percent of lung cancer cases are tobacco-related,
according to background information in the article. Despite efforts to prevent people from
beginning smoking and to encourage smoking cessation, the overall prevalence of
cigarette smoking is still high and many smokers are unable or unwilling to completely
quit.

The thirth moderate smoker is The smoke from a cigarette contains carcinogens ,you
would not venture into a room if you knew it contained carbon monoxide, ammonia and
hydrogen cyanide to name a few,yet these chemicals are found in the smoke from a
cigarette.if a food was found to have trace elements of any of the above in them it would
be removed from the food change immediately ,the difference smoking only kills you and
the people who breath in the smoke around you .yes there is always an exception and
some people have smoked all their life into the 80-90 and are still alive. but i have known
through my job the hundred of thousands of people who have died earlier than they
should have through smoking related cancers ,emphysema etc.
so why take the chance.

The fourth light is smokerPeople who smoke just a few cigarettes each day are seriously
damaging their health, doctors have warned. And women may be particularly vulnerable
to the adverse effects of tobacco. A study by doctors in Denmark has found women who
smoke just three cigarettes a day double their chances of having a heart attack and of
dying early. Men run similar risks if they smoke six cigarettes or a cigar each day.
The findings are based on a 22-year study of more than 12,000 people in Copenhagen.Dr
Eva Prescott and colleagues at the city's Ama Hospital analysed the cause of death among
people in this group over the past two decades. A total of 2,305 women and 2,883 men
died from a variety of causes during this time.
Actually, type of smokers can be devided into some types: chain smoker, heavy smoker,
moderate smoker, light smoker, casual smoker. Many disease and health conditions can
be developed by smoking. The most serious is lung cancer.
The Effects of Smoking
Many people often consider that cigarette is a disert. Yhey do not know that cigarrate is
dangerous for their healt. The effects of smoking include a range of adverse health
conditions including lung cancer, heart disease, and respiratory illnesses such as
shortness of breath. Smoking also affects daily lives and relationships in subtle ways.
Some include the bad smell, tainted breath, and nicotine stained teeth distance friends and
family.

The first lower level is infrequent smoking as well as second hand smoke is harmful for
lung health. This research done by the researchers at New-York- Presbyterian Hospital
has been published in American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. The
findings state that even when a person is exposed to low levels of cigarette smoke, he is
at a risk of getting lung diseases such as Chronic Pulmonary Disease and lung cancer.
This is because smoking or inhaling second hand smoke has a direct effect on the
functioning of genes preset in the airways. Function of the genes in the airways changes
due to sensitivity to smoke and this is generally the first signal of a biological disease.

The second reduced rate of lung growth is The most important and primary approach
for lowering your risk of lung cancer is smoking cessation. To do this, if you are a
smoker, you must be committed to stop smoking, and you can use your physician, your
family, supportive counseling, nicotine replacement patches or gum, as well as some of
the prescription medications that can reduce smoking drive. But in addition, can other
steps help as well?In a recent article by Dr. C. Chao and co-workers at Kaiser
Permanente Health Plan in Northern California (The California Men’s Health Study,
Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention Volume 17, page 2696, 2008), the
authors evaluated men 45 to 69 years old who had been in the health plan for at least one
year. Over 84,000 of these men completed questionnaires about their alcohol use, and
were then followed for the development of lung cancer. The authors examined the intake
of red or white wine, as well as beer and liquor. Lung cancers were identified by the use
of the cancer registry at Kaiser Permanente Hospitals. This study evaluated the
development of lung cancer over a period of 3 to 6 years.

The thrith greater risk of heart is The research, published in the European Heart
Journal, involved more than 52 separate studies.Lead author Dr Tuula Paajanen, from the
University of Tampere in Finland, said their review was attempting to resolve years of
conflicting evidence on the link between height and heart disease. We hope that with this
meta-analysis, the association is recognised to be true and in future more effort is targeted
to finding out the possible physiological, environmental and genetic mechanisms behind
the association, she said. When men and women were analysed separately by the
researchers, short men were 37 per cent more likely to die from any cause compared with
tall men, and short women were 55 per cent more likely to die from any cause compared
with their taller counterparts.

Thesis statement 1 : is the first effect is lower level of lung function

Thesis statement 2 : is The second effect of reduced rate of lung growth
Thesis statement 3 : is The thrith greater risk of heart diasease

In conlusion while some of the consequences from smoking may be permanent, a smoker
health greatly improves upon quitting.
