2. (a) Show that it is possible to convert an exponential fourier series into trigonometric one.
(b) Show that an arbitrary function can always be expressed as a sum of an even function and
an odd function.
3. (a) In a network, ϑ(t)=2 Sin t+ Sin 3t and i(t)=Sin 2t+0.5 Sin 4t, find the average power.
(b) Define the average value of non sinusoidal periodic current waveforms.
4. (a) Discuss shifting theorem.
(b) A sinusoidal voltage 25 Sin 10t is applied at time t=0 to a series R-L circuit comprising of
resistor of 5Ω and inductor of IH. By the method of Laplace transformation, find current
i(t). Assume zero current through inductor before application of voltage.
5. (a) State the properties of Huruitz polynomial.
(b) Construct the Routh array for the polynomial P (S) = S 6 + 3S 5 + 3S 4 + 3S 3 + 3S 2 + 3S + 2
and test for its Huruitz nature.
6. Synthesize the network in series and parallel foster forms which are given by the function
(s+1)(s+3)

1. (a) Find the given values of the matrix 3 −4
(b) Determine the state equation for the network shown below using equivalent source method.
3. (a) Find the average power in a resistance R = 10Ω, if the current in fourier series form is
i(t)=10 Sin wt+5 Sin3wt+2 Sin 5wt amperes.
(b) Define the effective value of non-sinusoidal periodic current.
4. (a) Discuss the replacement of the convolution integral by a finite summation.
(b) A voltage pulse of magnitude 6V and duration 3 sec extending from t=3 sec to t=6 sec
is applied to a series RL circuit consisting of R = 6Ω and L=2H. Obtain the current i(t).
Also calculate the voltage across R and L.
5. Does the following polynomial remain positive for all real w ≥ 0 ?
