100 years of scouting This year Uganda joins the rest of the world to celebrate

100 years of scouting. The theme is “Scouting Creating a
better World.” The celebrations will take place in Sironko
District and Kaazi camping site. In Sironko, Sunrise celebrations will
take place on August 1, 2007 at the Scouts Campsite, Sironko town
council. A Centenary camp will also be held in Kaazi from August 17-
21, 2007. Sunrise is the moment when the scouts flag is raised from
the top of a hill or mountain wherever the celebration is taking place.

There will also be a Peace Caravan that


will move from Tanzania to Kenya via
Uganda. This is a term used to describe
the movement of a group of scouts that
will travel through the three countries as
sign of peace which is needed in the
region.Uganda will be represented by one
youth, one female and one leader in the
Peace Caravan. The group will start the
journey from Dar es salam on July 17,
pass through Uganda and finish in Nyeri
