INTRODUCTION

WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR HAND?

.
“And the Lord said unto him (Moses),
what is that in thine hand? And he said,
A rod” Exodus 4:2.

A generation is in bondage, crying and

waiting to be liberated from hard labour and shackles of poverty,

disease and wastage, God needs somebody, a person who has been set
apart for this onerous task and has been fore-loaded with all necessary
ammunition, the generation in question is your race and the individual
to do the job is you, you have all it takes, this nation is waiting for you
to release her from the bondage of poverty and myriad of iniquities,
you are the divinely commissioned change agent and God has placed
the power in your hand, you need to realise your uniqueness and also to

recognise and utilize that potential energy, activate it so you can

actualize the purpose for which you havebeen created and so the result
of all your life’s endeavour can crystalise in success.

Moses had this rod in his hand, which he had been carrying about for
many years, the original Hebrew word for this rod or staff also
translates to a scepter for ruling, a lance for warfare, a walking stick for
support, a rod for correction and bread of life, the man Moses was
carrying all of these around without knowing the supernatural
implication of the natural piece of wood in his hand, he was using it
ordinarily as a shepherd tool without realising its extra-ordinary
applications and this continued for upward of forty years until the
awesome encounter with God which marks the turning point in his life.

I pray for as many souls as are reading this book today that you will
encounter the life transforming, situation changing and yoke breaking
power of God in your life. Amen.

CHAPTER 1

CALL TO REASON

For every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have an everlasting

covenant of all round success with God who is our divine benefactor
but this is based on reasoning, willingness and obedience to the terms
of the covenant on our part. God invites us to the conference table in
the book of Isaiah 1: 18-19
“Come now and let us reason together saith the Lord, though your
sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red
like crimson they shall be as wool, if ye be wiUing and obedient, ye
shall eat the good of the land”.

It is Gods original plan that man should be fruitful, multiply, inhabit

the earth and establish dominion over all circumstances and that man
should know no physical or mental agony but always to eat, sleep go
on sight seeing, fellowship with God, rejoice and enjoy till eternity.
“And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness,
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl
of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in
his own image in the image of God created he him, male and female
created he them.

And God blessed them and God said unto them, Be fruitful and
multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion
over theflSh of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every
living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And God said behold I have given you every herb bearing seed which
is upon the face of all the earth and every tree in the which is the
fruit of a tree yielding seed, to you it shall be for meat.

And to every beast of the earth and to every fowl of the air and to
every thing that creepeth upon the earth where in there is life, I have
given every green herb for meat and it was so. Gen. 1:26-30.

the Lord God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to
dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man saying
of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shall not eat of
it, for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” Gen.
2:15-17.
However, the transgression resulted in the loss of this earthly dominion
to man and the placement of the curse on man which has brought
untold hardship, poverty and sorrow unto man till this day.

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice
of thy wife and hast eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee,
saying thou shalt not eat of it, cursed is the ground for thy sake: in
sorrow shalt thou eat the herb of the field In the sweat of thy face
shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground, for out of it
wast thou taken for dust thou art and unto dust shalt thou return”.
Gen. 3:17-19.

As if this is not enough the eyes of man having been opened physically
is now spiritually blind and the mind corrupted

that man can no longer conceive, perceive and receive in order to enjoy
the good and perfect will of God.

The enabling decree for man to enjoy all things created for the pleasure
of mankind was repealed and in its place the penalty of hard labour
before pleasure was instituted while God took back the control of all
good things but He is still willing to give to a reconciled soul. Our God
being ever so merciful has instituted a way through which restoration is
made possible and was re-established with Abraham and sealed with
the precious blood ofJesus Christ, that if any man will purge himself of
the sandals of sin like Moses did ...

And he said, Draw not nigh hither, put thy shoes from off thy feet for
the place whereon thou standest is holy ground: Exo.3: 5.
“ And such a person had his feet shod with the preparation of the
gospel of peace” Eph 6:15,
that person will begin to operate in the fullness of God, the innate
potentials that God has imputed into him will be recognised and
adequately utilized.

CHAPTER 2

THE KINGDOM IN YOU

G od created man in a unique fashion and each person

is a peculiar being, a separate entity, purposely made to occupy a

niche in the programme of God for this generation. God’s time table of
event will not run as planned if you are alive today and not occupying
your designated position and fulfilling the purpose of God for your
life Take a brief look at your palm, you will locate the marks placed
there by God, if you compare these lines with somebody else’s you will
see that no two palm lines are the same, no wonder each person’s
fingerprint is different from one another, you are very important to this
world and that is why God has created you, He did not make a mistake
and He did not waste His time, the world is waiting for you to function
in your ordained position and through your action a series of reactions
will be generated.
The Lord when asked when the kingdom of God should come replied
in Lk. 17: 21b
“ For, behold the kingdom of God is within you”

Good success is in the will of God for man and the essence of the will
of God is to bring man into His kingdom, the Bible however says that
this kingdom of God is already inside of man and around him, when
you put off the old man and take on the new, allowing the Holy Spirit
to control you from your heart then you shall begin to envision good
things and desire righteously, discover your potentials, recognize
opportunities and claim your blessings.

The apostle Paul in Romans 14:17 has this to say “For

the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness and
peace and joy in the Holy Ghost”

The measure of a man’s success in life is not the matter of his eating
and drinking habit, but his strive towards leading a righteous life, it is
not a measure of his affluence or social status but of a deep seated
peace and joy that passed human understanding; this level of success
does not come by chance, it is a matter of choice and detennination. No
devil can make you poor, sad or troubled unless you cooperate,

with him, even God will not bless you unless you allow him, yours is

the right to chose to either be a success or other wise, the word of God

says in Deuteronomy 30: 19.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that 1 have set
before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life
that, both thou and thy seed may live”,

God made you whole and complete and all you need to be prosperous
in life and create a micro-heaven around you has already been put at
your disposal, God did not tell Moses to go and cut a rod, Moses
already had the rod, all he was asked to do was to remove the shoes of
iniquities, acknowledge and reference the holiness of God for God to
cause a transformation in his life, the supernatural will happen in you
and through you if you allow God to add His super to your natural,
you will also record extra-ordinary feat in life if you allow God to add
extra to your ordinary. God has commissioned you like He did to
Jeremiah, He foreknew you, He predestined you,

He set you apart, you have been appointed, all that is needed of you is
your availability which He is ready to turn to ability for profitability,
your obedience is necessary, the Pharaoh of our time is destroying the
Israelites, you are not to fear, His word will serve as a divine
ammunition and the operation is to dethrone the devil and enthrone
Jesus over the nations, demolish all illegal structures and erect an altar
for God.
Jer. l4:10
Then the word of the Lord came unto me saying, Before l formed
thee in the belly, 1 knew thee and before thou camest forth out of the
womb 1 sanctified thee and 1 ordained thee a prophet unto the
nations.

Then said I, Ah Lord God, behold I cannot speak, 1 am a child But

the Lord said unto me, say not 1 am a child for thou shalt go to all
that I shall send thee and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt
speak. Be not afraid of their faces for I am with thee to deliver thee
saith the Lord

Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the
Lord saith unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth, see I
have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root
out and to pull down and to destroy and to throw down, to build and
to plant”
If you want joy, success, peace and freedom, you already have them,
God has created you with all these attributes, allow them to be
expressed do not allow the devil to recreate you, live true to the
scripture that says
“And 1 wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own
arm brought salvation unto me. Isa. 63:5

God asked Moses, “What is that in your hand”, it was a rod, and all
shepherds have rods, God does not ask us for what we do not have,
He just asks us for what we do have, God then told Moses to throw the
rod on the ground and when he did, it became serpent, then God said,
“Take it by the tail” (Exo.4:4) and it became a rod again, that serpent
was a cobra - the symbol of Egypt, God was telling Moses that He was
going to use what was in His hand to take Egypt and shake it, God used
what was in Moses hand, his rod, to bring and remove the ten plagues
and to open the waters of the red sea. Beloved, there is a kingdom in
you that is waiting to be established and when you recognise these
virtues this generation shall accord you a due recognition.

CHAPTER 3
 PLURIPOTENTIALITY OF MAN

God created man with many attributes, with every intention and
tendency to become whatever he chooses to become, whatever a person
requires to acquire, an admired desire has already been imputed into
him but you need in life to aspire to be great and also perspire greatly
and so afterwards retire into His divine rest wearing a glorious attire.
King Solomon declared in the book of Ecclesiates 3:14-15 that

I know that whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can
be put to it, nor anything taken from it: and God doeth it that men
should fear before him, That which hath been is now and that which
is to be hath already been and God requireth that which is past.

The above is absolutely true as far as the plan of God for mankind is
concerned, Acts 15:18 says:
Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world”,

King Solomon opined and I agree with him that this world is following

after a set order, every individual has been fully and wholly created to

function specifically, there is not going to be a recreation of you either

by way of removal or addition, the ingredients for survival, growth and

prosperity are already in place. If you want to succeed in life, God has

already programmed you for success, every individual, though, has free
and intelligent acts which changes according to their conformity or

nonconformity to God’s eternal plan, the whole gospel programme is

based upon voluntary obedience to the word of God, this brings

salvation and blessings, but if disobedience is rendered, eternal

damnation will be the result.

Apostle Paul assured the Ephesians of the beatitudes of God in Ephe1:3

which read
Blessed be the God and father of our Lord
Jesus Christ who hath blessed us with all
Spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ”

God has already bestowed spiritual blessings on all believers, these

blessings are the pure doctrines of the gospel and the full graces of the
Spirit which are necessary in the work of God among men, the
promises in Christ of which are still for believers today, the
manifestations of which the world is waiting for.
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the
manifestation of the sons of God” Rom 8:19.

To accomplish your heart’s desire within the will of God on earth,

treasures have been put inside of you, God is practical, He uses simple
things we hold in our hands to touch the world, there are things you
have that may seem insignificant but which have the potential to
become life - changing.
In 2 Corinthians 4: 7 we read
“But we have treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the
power may be of God and not of us”.
All men are earthen vessels, jars of clay, moulded and fashioned by
God, everybody is an original, we look similar but are quite distinct
and into every vessel are treasures to bring to fulfillment the plan and
purpose of God, you have been given a head that contains your brain, a
pair or eyes, and legs all made up of tissues and cells that are peculiar

to you, you have your emotion and intellect, all these are precious

treasures that constitute your delicate make up and they are those that

should serve to make you what you choose to become. Whatever a man

will become stems from three main lines of endowment; there is the

talent, the hobby and the gift.

TALENT: This is special or natural ability, it also connotes skill or

cleverness, you can employ your talent to accomplish your goal in life,

and you may be a talented singer, dancer, orator etc and use such to

glorify God. Apostle Paul was a talented tent maker, He used his skill

to fund the gospel and win convert.

“After these things, Paul departed from Athens and came to Corinth.
And found a Jew named Aquila born in Pontus, Lately come from
Italy with his wife Priscilla and because he was of the same craft, he
abode with them and wrought, for by their occupation they were tent
maters.
Acts 18:1-3. “Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business?
He will stand before kings he will not stand before obscure men.
Prov. 22:2a (AMP).

All the above relate to being talented and employing it to make a head

way in life, Moses has the talent for shepherding with his rod, the rod

however remains a natural rod used for menial jobs until his encounter

with God, he must have cast down the rod many times in the past

without it turning to snake until God spoke about it. You also have

talents that can serve you and aid you in serving God.

HOBBY:
This is your favourite activity or something you enjoy doing, you may
not be specially skilled in it but you derive joy from doing it. Whether
you have the skill or not, all true believers enjoy praising or
worshipping God. Saul before he became Apostle Paul had the hobby
of persecuting the believers and enjoys seeing them killed, he was
chasing them allover the nation before he encountered a spiritual arrest.

“Then they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and ran
upon him with one accord. And cast him out of the city and stoned
him, and the witnesses laid down their cloths at a young man’s feet
whose name was Saul. Acts 7:57-58
“And Saul yet breathing out threatening and slaughter against the
disciples of the Lord went unto the high priest. And desired of him
letter to Damascus to the Synagogues that if he found any of this way
whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto
Jerusalem. Acts 9:1-2.

The above scriptures highlighted the facts that Paul enjoys persecuting
the Christians, he took it as a hobby and ironical as this may sound God
met hint and used his zeal for persecution for propagation of the gospel.

“And it came to pass that as I made my journey and was come nigh
unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shown from heaven a
great light round about me. And I fell unto the ground and heard a
voice saying unto me Saul, Saul why persecutest thou me? And I
answered who art thou Lord? And He said unto me, I am Jesus of
Nazareth whom thou persecute. Acts 22 :6-8.
Are you a drug addict, a drunkard? Whatever your hobby is, God can
use you to minister to your peers, He can also turn your hobby to a
means of livelyhood for you and through this, generations will be
liberated and brought into His kingdom.

Moses turned a shepherd after He fled Egypt and was eqioying using

his rod to lead his father inlaw’s sheep, he might not be the best

shepherd of his time but he was working at it, But God has another plan

for him, Moses was to get used to handling ofa rod because he will
need it to lead God’s people out of captivity. Do not wait till you

perfect the aet of praying before you start, you may not be a good

singer but you can sing anyway, if you think all you have in your hand

is not good enough, you try giving it unto God and see what He makes

of it.

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound
the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to
confound the things which are mighty. “ And base things of the
world and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and
things which are not to bring to nought things that are: 1 Cor. 1:27-
28.

GIFT:
This is a supernatural ability available only to genuine

believers, an unbeliever will at best operate and might attain a level of

success with his talent or hobby but a Spirit filled child of God is the
one qualified as being gifted.

UNow there are distinctive varieties and distribution of endowments,

extraordinary power distinguishing certain Christians due to the
power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit and
they vary but the Holy Spirit remains the same” I Cor. 12:4 (AMP)
“But the manifestation of the Holy Spirit is given to every man to
profit withal ICor. 12:7. Wherefore He saith when He ascended up
on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts unto men. Eph. 4:8

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into
all truth. For he shall not speak of himself: but what so ever he shall
hear that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. Jn.
16:13.

When the Holy Spirit inhabits a believer, He endows such with gifts of
the Spirit, the potentials you do not seem to recognise in yourselfbefore
begin, to manifest and God will begin to turn your weakness to
strength, if you have

been talented before, the Spirit of God will now enhance your

performance and you will begin to operate in the realm of the

supernatural. Paul became an apostle of God after the infilling of the

Holy Ghost, a babbler became an orator, a killer became a giver of life,

raised the dead and was ready to get killed in the process. Moses the

stammerer would not need to make a speech before Pharaoh, before the

king’s magicians would acknowledge the “finger of God” at work.

“And the Lord said unto Moses, say unto Aaron, stretch out thy rod
and smite the dust of the land that it may become lice throughout all
the land of Egypt .
And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice
but they could not: so there were lice upon man and beast

Imagine the uneducated, stark illiterate Peter the fisher man, God
would later turn him to a fisher of men. He received the Holy Ghost at
Pentecost and he preached his first eloquent sermon, he took the
listeners into the Jewish

archive of prophecy with impeccable accuracy and three thousand

people gave their lives to the Lord and were baptized.

“And it shall come to pus in the last days, saith God, I will pour out
of my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men
shall dream dreams. Acts 2:17.

“ Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of
you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promise is unto you and to
your children and to all that are far off even as many as the Lord our
God shall calL Acts 2:38-39.

The out pouring of the Holy Ghost that started over two thousand years
ago with impartation of spiritual gifts continues till this day, we are still
in the last days and God is blessing his church like never before there is
mighty manifestation ofthe wonder working power of God like never
before. Get in the flow of the Spirit of God, receive
Jesus Christ into your life today and His Spirit will indwell you, God
will give you a new Spirit to make you new, He will give you a
different spirit like Joshua and Caleb to make you different and
distinguishable, a light in the darkness of the world, a salt in this sour
and bitter world.

God will give you an excellent spirit to make you excel and the fruit of
the Spirit which is love, joy peace, long suffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith, meekness and temperance will be evident in your life,
it is high time you change your spiritual orientation, let this information
cause a reformation of your natural action and attitude, get projected
into the altitude of transfonnation that there might be translation into
the realm of supernatural.

CHAPTER 4

THE GREAT DISCOVERY

The whole life of a man is a voyage of discovery, every stage of

human development is all about finding out the ifs, whats, hows, whys,
where, when of events.
Recognition of potentials is a major key to answering all of man’s
problems and a major step towards solving every puzzling question
concerning God and His plan for man, the scripture says

“The secrete things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things
which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever
that we may do all the words of this law” Deut. 29:29

A computer operator will need the right key or pass word to open up a
programme and this has to be revealed to him otherwise his efforts will
be an exercise in futility, if only man will tarry long in God’s presence
and seek His face, God would lead him into the mystery of success and
the eyes of his mind will become enlightened.

Paul seeing the faith and the zeal of the Ephesian believers offered an
intercessory prayer unto God in Ephesians 1:17-19
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory may give
unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of
him; the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may
know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory
of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness
of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his
mighty power”

God originally created man with all the intrinsic ability to know and to
do, nobody teaches a baby to breath, urinate, defecate, suck milk from
his mother or cry in discomfort, God has programmed all these to be
so, a baby soon learns to move the limbs, crawl and walk all by
discovery but God has planned these too to be so.
As the baby grows however, he begins to think by the exercise of his
mind, he finds out he has a choice and free

will to do or not to do certain things, the devil creeps in by introducing

ideas into his mind and polluting his thought life, lying and stealing
comes naturally and a deadly virus becomes introduced into the perfect
programme of God because the devil has come to kill, steal and destroy
but thanks be to our God who has sent His son Jesus Christ to redeem
and reconcile man back to the realm of perfection and has made His
help available for us in order to discover the lost ground and to recover
the lost hope and glory and restore the order.

King David sang when the Lord delivered him from his enemies and
from the hand of Saul, He said.
“ With your help I can advance against a troop, with my God I can
scale a wall, As for God his ways are perfect, the word of the Lord is
flawless, He is a shield. For au who take refuge in him, in him, for
who is God besides the Lord? and who is the rock except our God? It
is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect, He
makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to stand on the
heights He trains my hands for battle, my arms can bend a bow of
bronze Ps 18:29-34 (NIV)

This no doubt is a song of victory declaring the

indispensability e help of God and His readiness to make it available

for at take refuge in Him and re-route their life’s endeavour 19h him.
Moses and Miriam also
composed a song to the after the final escape from Egypt,
the Israelites seemed doomed until God opened a highway through the
sea.

“They sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord
and spoke saying, I will sin, unto the Lord for he hath triumphed
gloriously, the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
The Lord is my strength and song and he is become my salvation, he
i$ my God and I will prepare him an habitation my father’s God and
1 will exalt him.
Who is like unto thee 0 Lord, among the gods? who is like thee,
glorious in holiness fearful in praises, doing wonders? Exo. 15:1-
2,11.

Moses sang a glorious song because he discovered and beheld the

wonder working power of God at work on several occasions, the power
is still available to you today because the scriptures declared that you
are wonderfully made and so you hould be for wonders.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your

works are wonderful, I know that full well my frame was not hidden
from you when I was woven
the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth
your eyes saw unformed body, All the days O1’iItDned for me were
written in your book before one of them came to me - Ps 139: 14-16.

God the divine programmer has carefully and wonderfully put you
together with all apparatus and appendages you will ever need to lead a
successful and fulfilling life, whatever you do not have is probably
what you do not need to fulfil God’s purpose for taking his precious
time to bring you into existence, the potentials to make each day a
successful one is already part of you and there is a written purpose for
each day that you are privileged to be alive which must not go
unfulfilled.

The rod of exploit had always been part of Moses make up, his daily
apparatus for effective shepherding until the

divine encounter, troubled by the enormity of the task ahead and the
seeming incredibility of his choice by God, he asked a pertinent
question.
“Moses answered, what if they do not believe me or listen to me and
say, The Lord did not appear to you?” Exo. 4:1 (NIV)
we see Moses expressing his inadequacy that bother on low self esteem
and sheer ignorance of the awesomeness of God, the Amplified Bible
puts it this way.

“And Moses answered but behold, they will not believe me or listen to
and obey my voice; for they will say the Lord has not appeared to
you. “

John Henry Jowett said “There need be no “buts” in our relationship

to God’s will, Nothing will take the Lord by surprise. The entire field
had been surveyed and the preparations are complete, when the Lord
says “I will send thee”, every provision has been made for the
appointed task, when he says “I will not fail thee” He who gives the
command will also give the equipment”.
It is not surprising then that God answered Moses with a question
designed to help him examine himself and discover the moribund but
power laden potential in his hand.
“And the Lord said unto him, what is that in thine hand? And he said
a rod” Exo 4:2.

Dear reader, I want to assure you that God has built something in you
that he will want you to discover, as the marks on your palm are
peculiar to you, so is the characteristics and resourcefulness that is part
of you. And the Lord is asking this probing question meant to open
your eyes to behold your uniqueness to enlighten your mind, give you a
vision to enhance your mission, remove the scales from your eyes and
liberate you from spiritual blindness either caused by sin, facilitated by
a Pharaoh in your life or circumstances surrounding your birth, and the
limitative nature of your upbringing. God is going to help you to
discover that which is already in you, God is going to bless it and by it
you will be a blessing to your generation.

There is this story in 2 Kings 4: 1-7

“Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the

sons of the prophets unto Elisha saying thy servant my

husband is dead and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord
and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be
bondmen.
And Elisha said unto her, what shall] do for thee? tell me, what hast
thou in the house? And she said, thine hand-maid hath not anything
in the house, save a pot of oil ”. 2 King 4:1-2.

Is your god father dead? Is your benefactor no more? Are you in debt
and adverse circumstances are closing in on you threatening to devour
you? I say unto you this day that you should relax and re-examine the
situation, it cannot be as bad as situations are making you to feel, it
cannot end before the end and the hour of liberation is here, you do not
have to die before you die, there is a ray of hope, there is a life-line

she went from him and shut the door upon her and upon her sons
who brought the vessels to her and she poured out,
And it came to pass when the vessels were full that she said unto her
son bring me yet a vessel And he said unto her there is not a vessel
more and the oil stayed Then she came and told the man of God, And
he said, go sell the oil and pay thy debt and live thou and thy children

tomorrow. The word of God says “Behold, I will do a new thing”, if
you keep looking back you cannot see the front, you must see the
future in order to step into it, if you keep living in the past you will
soon become part of the past. Whatever you perceive and believe is
what you will receive, your glorious past is incomparable with your
more glorious future, If darkness constitutes your past, this will
disappear even as you approach the source of light,
“The path ofthejust is as the shining light that shineth more and
more unto the perfect day” Prov. 4: 18.

The years gone bye may have smiled on you or the other

way round, I assure you that whatever your situation may be, it will
soon become a past affair and if the coming of the Lord is further put
on hold, your situation will soon give way to a better tomorrow which I
pray will put you on a higher pedestal of success, your past is a
bounced cheque, forget it, the present is a liquid cash, invest it wisely,
the future is a promissory note, go for it.
“That I mav know him and the power of His resurrection and the
fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death,
If by any means I might attain unto the resu”ection of the dead Not
as though I had already attained either were already peifect but I
follow after that I may apprehend that for which also I am
apprehended. PhiL 3:10-12.

Apostle Paul wrote the above sure words of testimony to the Philippian
church and this no doubt forms the basis of his Spiritual conquest. The
apostle was an adventurer ofa sort, he has an insatiable appetite for
discovery, he himself being a product of discovery, a former persecutor
and a
murderer named Saul, born a Jew and a Pharisee of the highest order
with a passion for killing the saints and asking for more blood,
apprehended, arrested and discovered by God on the way to Damascus
in a bid to search out for Christians and imprison them. Alover of
power and he who loves to use power, having been transformed and
made to discover a better way of life and a better source and form of
power gave the above testimony. I want you to take a look at the
underlined statements in the text quoted above, you will discover that
the apostle employed three forms to address our topic: That I may

Moses’ shoes, have you driven your in-law’s herd to a desert, dry and
harsh land with little pasture to sustain the flock?, is the machinery of
your business grinding to a halt, have you taken a loan and the business
has gone bad and you are finding it difficult to pay the interest not to
talk of the capital, are you like Moses leading a borrowed life, I invite
you today unto the mountain of God where all your needs will be met
and God will speak to your situation, God knows you,He is waiting for
you to turn aside from a life of routine and behold the great sight, He
longs to call you by name and have a relationship with you. Moses saw
fire but the bush was not consumed, the fact that you are still alive in
spite of your predicament, in spite of all the hurts means there is hope
for you, you are still alive and can not be dead until you are dead, don’t

lose hope don’t despair, the Bible says in James 4:8

Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you ....

Our God is an ever present help in time of need, if you just remove
your focus from problem and behold solution, if you reject shame to
receive fame if you will forsake your old ways and let God lead you.
Moses took a faithful step on that fateful day and that was the last day
he will lead sheep, he started to lead men, the shepherd rod became a
ruler’s scepter.

The God that transformed and translated Moses and Paul is beckoning
unto you today come unto Him, if you are sick come for healing, if you
are hungry come to dinner, if you are poor, come to the treasury, if you
are tired, come for a retreat. Do not allow your soul to be downcast or
disturbed, your present situation is just to arrest your attention and
make you to STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN, Moses stopped on mount
Horeb, Paul stopped on the road to Damascus so you must ;top right
here and right now and seek God in prayer lest you be
burnt or blind, Moses looked at the burning bush, Paul saw a light from
heaven, my friend you must see something different today, I declare
that you will begin to see opportunity out of every difficulty, put a
salve on your eyes and the light of God shall shine on your path, Moses
listened, Paul listened, they both heard from the Lord, I pray that from
today you will begin to hear good news, tales of woes shall cease and
songs of praise will be sang. God will speak to you and your situation
will not be the same again.
“Let us draw near with a true heart In full assurance of faith having
our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed
with pure water.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering for he is
faithful that promised” Heb.l0:22-23

AND Moses said unto God, who am 1 that 1 should go unto

PluJraoh and that 1 should bring forth the children of Israel out of
Egypt? Exo.3:11.

Moses drew near the great sight, he beheld a celestial manifestation on

the terrestrial plain and became curious and in his moment of wonder
he will still be more amazed

by a voice commissioning him to embark on the unimaginable.

An awesome task has suddenly fallen on his lap and his curiosity gave
way to inquisition, a finding out had to take place, some answers had to
be provided to serious nagging questions. Moses was about to make a
discovery, all detectives know the worth of interrogation, it provides
clues to solving ajig-saw puzzle and this leads us to the third key to a
great discovery.

ASK PROBING QUESTIONS.

Have you ever met a research personnel? They usually draw up a good
questionnaire for themselves and others to provide answers, which they
in turn will collate and hannonize to make a deduction. The aims,
purpose and inference of any scientific research, plus life application is
normally based on a standard line of investigation. They seek to know
why, how, where and when of events. If you must discover then, you
must be inquisitive. Moses discovered himself, his uniqueness and
peculiarities, he

wanted to know what qualities qualify him for the job and how did he
get the right answer? I said to you before that you can only discover
that which God had already programmed for your life, any other
discovery will be to your peril. God answered him “certainly I will be
with thee” ... Exo 3:12 it is only when God is with you that you can be
the best and ‘you must be, before you become” Nicodemus confessed
about Jesus and His miraculous signs in
John 3:2 “The same came to Jesus by night and said unto him,
Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God for no man
can do these miracles that thou doest except GOD BE WITH HIM”,

My dear reader, I want you to ponder a while, ask yourself, is God with
you? Are you with God? If your answer is in the affirmative, then you
must be heading for the discovery of a great success. If not, yours
might be a great discovery of failure, you must be before you do”. The
Philipian jailer in Acts 16:29 •. 33, after seeing the miraculous
intervention of God in the affairs of Paul and Silas asked them “What
must I do to be saved”? To which they answered him to believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ for him and his household to be saved. You must first
be a believer before you can do

the exploits of a believer. Moses did not stop on the matter of who he
was, He asked for more in Exo. 3:13.
“And Moses said unto God if the children of Israel shall say to me,
what is his name? What shall I say unto them?
Moses was not just content with the fact of God being with him alone,
he sought to know what manner of God he is and to know his
nomenclature for which he discovered that there can be no human
standard of identifying God because God is beyond human
understanding and any specific name still limits his awesomeness.
Our God is I AM THAT I AM, the omnipresent and all doing. I
admonish you at this moment to question the all knowing God about
yo~ your distinction, your future and your fortune and He shall furnish
you with answers to the minutest detail. Ask Him about His plan and
purpose for your life. Ask Him prayerfully about the course and the
pursuit. I assure you that your probing will land you with a proof Ask
not a few questions in your quest for information as lack of information
leads to deformation.

MOSES in Exo. 4:1 probed deeper.

“And Moses answered and said. But behold, they will not believe me
nor hearken unto my voice; for they will say the Lord hath not
appeared unto thee”
God then took Moses into the realm of rev elation, God allowed him
insight into the supernatural by making him to know and understand
the extraordinary worth of the ordinary shepherd tool in his hand. The

DEVELOP A PASSION FOR GOD’S PRESENCE King David was

Here is a man declaring and exuding the full confidence in God’s

protective presence and aflirming that with God before him, by his
side, wrapping his protective arms

around him as a guard, he is undaunted in the face of obvious

intimidations in the world. He is unshakable because he has anchored
his life unto the Lord and he knows the Lord is too faithful to abandon
him to suffer and too wonderful to allow him to wander. God our
redeemer is stronger than the mighty and bigger than the mountains he
is the comforter that tBkes you through examination and gives you
promotion. He abides by your side in your trials and gives you triumph,
replaces your test with testimony. The psalmist knows this and rejoices
in whatever situation he finds himself, having the full assurance and
consciousness of God’s presence. Hear the word of the Lord, a sure
promise to give your life a little lift,
“When thou passeth through the waters, I will be with thee, and
throu.gh the rivers, they shall not overflow thee, when thou walketh
through the fire, thou shalt not be burned neither shaH the flame
kindle upon thee”.lsa.4J:2.

‘·And Moses said unto the Lord, see, thou sayest u.nto me, Bring up
this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wi/th send
with me. Yet thou hast said I know thee by name and thou hast also
found grace in my sight.

How therefore I pray thee if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me
now thy way that I may know thee that I may find grace in thy sight
and consider that this nation is thy people.

And He said, my presence shall go with thee and I will give thee rest.
And he said unto him if thy presence go not with me carry us not
hence” Exo. 33:12-15.

Obsessed with cliscovering great and mighty deeds of God. Moses

knows that the secret of every great discovery lies in the presence of
God, Having enjoyed and reveled in the glorious leading and covering
by the cloud of God’s presence, he wants more and more of God, he
knows there are more obstacles and dangers both within and without
the camp on the way to the promised land waiting to be discovered but
he also knows that with God, any discovery of questions is only an
open door to answers, any discovery of problems is to show forth
solutions and that any test will as ever before lead to testimony.

A great prophecy was given in Ezekiel 36:27 God said “ I will put my
spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes and ye shall
keep my judgments and do them”

Mankind, nowadays need more than occasional visitations of the Spirit

and presence of God, the love that God has for you and I made Him to
send His only begotten son Jesus Christ whose name is called
Immanuel meaning God with us, permanently and eternally, our Lord
Jesus Christ came and lived a life full of glorious discovery and at His
ascension He handed over the key to great discoveries to as many as
would receive His Spirit He gave us this promise in John 14:16-17.
“And I will pray the father and he shall give you another comforter
that he may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth whom the
world cannot receive because it seeth him not neither knoweth him
but ye know him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you”

The Psalmist in Ps. 51:11 tasted this delicacy I am introducing to you

today and he exclaimed
“Cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy Holy
Spiritfrom me”,
David knows the worthlessness and the fruitlessness of a life without
the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God, he has
discovered a good thing and will not let go of it”. The Holy Spirit of
God in you signifies His divine presence and His function is that of the
supernatural.

“Howbeit when he, the spirit of tnlth is come he wiU guilk you into
aU tnlth, for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall
hear that he shaU speak and he will shew you things to come.
In.16:13.

Showing you things to come means discovering that which God has in
stock for you. A life without Christ leads to a discovery of crisis. I
invite you today in the name of Jesus to come into the comfort and joy
of the Lord. As you have said bye to yesteryears, say also bye to sin,
sorrow, poverty and death, come away from nothing and become
sometlUn& from crisis to Christ, come just as you are without a plea,
His blood was shed for you, He longs to be present in you and all that
are yours, come today and discover true joy and security in His
presence, come and discover comfort to your distressed soul, come to
Jesus, all other helpers are bound to fail, the darkness deepens but the
help of the helpless and the light of the world longs to abide with you
the lamb of God says come. It is not enough to develop a passion for
God’s presence but we

also need to take a step further as we consider the next key point.

SEEK INSTRUCTION AND DIVINE GUIDANCE

A righteous man’s heart has many plans but the Lord directs his
steps Prov.16: 19. Dear friend, I know that many were your desires in
the last millennium that were not accomplished, you swam laboriously
in the ocean of aspiration but never got to the shore offulfillment, yes I
know you prayed and you added some days of dry fasting to see your
mission accomplished but your plans never came to fruition, you were
caught up in conflagration and the devouring effect of the consuming
fire of affliction, sickness and tonnent made you to cry unto God but it
seems He refused to be your fire brigade in spite of His promise never
to abandon you to the grave, you remembered God in your troubles and
not before so you were not delivered, you called on God to bless your
plans and not to plan your blessings and so you were not blessed.

Today marks the beginning of another year of your life

and you must thank God for giving you a new beginning. A sure
foundation based on divine instruction will get you established among
those men and women of great exploit in Jesus name, Your prayer this
year must change from Lord bless my way and prosper the work of
my hand to Lord show me the way you have blessed, and guide my
hands to the work you have prospered, you have always claimed in
vain that whatever your hands touch will prosper, forgetting that it is It
which is approved of God that can prosper and that is hands are
actually anointed by God. You spent fruitless sking for what you want
from God not minding whether within His will for you instead of
asking God to reveal as concerning you. You wept yourself sick last
year but e that henceforth you will weep no more, the prophet Isaiah
30:19-21
“For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; thou shall weep no
more, he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry, when
he shall hear it he will answer thee.
And then the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of
affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any
more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers.

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee saying this is the way,
walk in it, when ye turn to the right hand and when ye turn to the
left”.

Having stepped into the presence of God and located in Zion, :an only
be joy for you this year and no adversity, your :teacher, your
instructor, even God by His Spirit shall order divine direction, He will
remove you from the crossroad of confusion and show you the glory
land way, submit to Him in all your ways and try righteousness to
receive the blessings of the righteous.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delighteth
in his way” Ps.37:23.

It follows therefore that if your way is pleasing to God, He will in turn

guide you into a great discovery, He will not just order your steps, He
will also order your stops for He will not lead you into temptation but
will deliver you from evil and how He will do this is clearly
highlighted in Ps. 32:8.10 “I WILL INSTRUCT THEE and
teach thee
in the way which thou sholt go, I will guide thee with mine eye, Be ye
not as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding, whose
mouth must be held in with bit and bridle lest they come near unto
thee, many so”ows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the
Lord, mercy shall compass him about”

This year it is an established fact that as many as are reading this piece
and deriving inspiration from it will not suffer negligible perspiration
before tangible acquisition of God’s goodness in the name of Jesus, if
you trust in all the prophetic declaration coming unto you from this
page, mercy shall envelope you and you shall be an object of divine
favour, the impartations you are receiving will amount to increase in
divine portions and bountiful proportions in Jesus name. The Lord will
instruct, teach and guide thee all the days of your life, I also pray that
you will be teachable and full of understanding contrary to the family
equidae (horse or mule) that have to be forced or coerced, you shall
know the truth this year and the truth shall make you free.

Moses had an encounter with God on mount Horeb and the Lord issued
him an instruction to go and confront

Pharaoh and demand the release of the Israelites. After the discovery of
the wonder working rod in the hand of Moses, God said to him

“And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand where with thou shalt do
signs. “ Exo.4:17
Moses received instruction, he obeyed and this resulted unto him as
wisdom, the instruction of God will make you wise this year, Just as
Moses was triumphant, God’s instruction will make you triumph.

I know a man in the Bible who has lost all and became utterly
despondent, David was in great distress because the Amalekites have
raided Ziklag, burnt the city, carted away everything living and non
living, wives and children inclusive, David led his men not to war but
to the land of mourning, they wept until they had no more strength to
weep but God refused to answer to emotion, David’s sorrow became
multiplied when his men turned against him blaming him, threatening
him for all

the woes that have befalling them. This story in 1 Sam. 30:1-6 may be
similar to your present predicament and your crying has only
compounded your crisis, receive respite unto your soul, you are doing
the right thing by reading me today. You couldn’t have been doing any
better thing at this minute, your pain is about to abate and the sorrows
and sighing will flee, Here is the key
1 Sam.30:8 “And David inquired at the Lord saying shall I pursue
after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And He answered him.,
pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them and without fail recover
alII!

A word from the Lord will settle all you are going through in the world,
A go ahead from God means God has already gone ahead to level the
mountain and fill up the valleys, all you need do is to gather the spoil,
the Lord that instructed David to pursue will also instruct you unto
recovery and conquest.
The sweet story climaxed in verse 18 with a testimony that
“And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried
away: and David rescued his two wives” and verse 19 says f’And
there was nothing lacking to them neither small nor great, neither
sons nor daughters, neither spoils

nor anything that they had taken with them, David

recovered all.

At the Lord’s instruction your tonnentors shall be tonnented, At the

Lord’s instruction you will recover all that the enemy has stolen from
you. At the Lord’s instruction you will lack nothing good, At the
Lord’s instruction whatever constitute the Amalekites of your life will
be overtaken and overpowered and yours will be a discovery of victory
in Jesus Name. Apart from seeking instruction and divine guidance, we
still need to take another step further.

FOLLOW THE GUIDE

Discovery is about finding out that which hitherto had been unknown,
for a good discovery you need a good manual, an outline that will
furnish you with a good procedure, the method and the steps to take in
your endeavor .
“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead
them the way: and by night in a pillar of

fire to give them light; to go by day and night” Exo. 13:21.

The Israelites were on the voyage of discovery, the promised land is
situated somewhere ahead, unknown and hard to recognize especially
for a people coming out of a life of servitude spanning four hundred
and thirty years, they have their visage distorted from a despised,
oppressed and afflicted life, they had led a life of sorrow, and spent
years of agony and are not unfamiliar with sufferings. Being led daily
from labour camp to the labour field had been their pastime and they
would prefer to die in this life of grave contentment than to hand over
their future and fortune into the hands of a mortal being, it is no wonder
then that God had to send before them His guiding presence.

Readers, Are you battered and beaten, are you bruised and crushed, is
your soul downcast and your confidence stolen, Has the enemy robbed
you of your motivation and innovation, is your contusion leading to
confusion, are you sad and disconsolate with what fate landed you with
in the years past? Relax!

The Comforter is here, the Holy Ghost from heaven, the

promised leader has manifested in your situation today, the mighty

hand that rescued the Israelites from Egypt, the house of bondage is on
the stretch once again, forsake your labour to shake the saviour, put on
an eye salve that the glory cloud may not render you blind, wash your
face that is clogged with fears that you may recognize the guiding
pillar. Liberate yourself from a life of darkness as you behold the light
of the Lord rising upon your circumstances, get ready for a radiant
transformation as the glory appears over you. Strengthen the feeble
hands and steady the knees that give way, the journey into a better
future has just begun, be strong, do not fear, the . Messiah has come,
He has come unto you today in his fullness and power, He has come
revealed to redeem you and lead you on a highway devoid oflions and
ferocious beasts.

Let His bleeding side be a pleading sight, an eternal memorial

commemorating His going before that you might not go astray, commit
your ways unto Him from today, trust in Him be like a sheep to a
shepherd and with the

good shepherd in the lead you shall no longer be in want, He will lead
you away from the storm of your life and situate you beside still
waters, your troubled soul He will restore and away from the pit of
destruction He will guide you and lead you in the paths of
righteousness. Even if you find yourself treading the valley of the
shadow of death, fear or grief will not overcome you nor will you
be consumed with any feeling of “dejavu”. His rod and staff signifying
His leadership, and Lordship will comfort you and you will not be
devastated by the rampaging fire of wrath and destruction that oozes
out of the nostril of the dragon and the steaming storm of the devils
fury will not overwhelm you, the scripture has said loud and clear that
your redeemer is mighty, your defender is strong, He will take up your
case against the world, and this, not for a while. It is a life long,
comprehensive insurance cover, a confirmed flight ticket into the port
of discoveries Exo. 4:22 says
“He took not away the pillar of the cloud by the day nor the pillar of
fire by night from before the people”.
The Lordship and Leadership of the Lord is not a matter of rotation on
tribal, or ethno religious sentimentalism, it is a permanent and
everlasting one, the royal priesthood over Nigeria and Nigerians is not
a contentious issue, it is

eternally invested in the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ, it has little
bearing with the mortal being occupying the temporal seat of
government. You might think your progress in life is slow as a
Christian, your problem might be that you are not making it like your
unrighteous peers, take my advice today, folly abounds in the way of
the wicked, the blessing of God may not be fast, but it lasts, delay is
not denial, our God is too merciful, He will not lead you into
temptation but will deliver you from evil, my prayer for you is that
when evil is going before you God will slow you down that you might
not catch up with it, He will also gear you into action and give you the
necessary kinetic energy to accelerate you away from the evil behind.
Psalm 37: 7 has this to say

“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him, fret not yourself
because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who
bringeth wicked devices to pass”

Envy not the duper man, do not be enticed by the wealth of the armed
robber whether armed by pen or by gun. A
study of the book of Psalm 73 shows that envious occupation with
fellow men leads to backsliding while a surrendered life and
occupation with God bring forth the goodness of God, it is the blessing
of God that makes one rich without adding any sorrow, the psalmist
was in your kind of mood until the sudden realization of his
backslidden state and he lamented in verse 17-18
“Until I went into the sanctuary of God then understood 1 their end,
surely you didst set them in slippery places, thou castedst them down
into destruction”.

He quickly retraced his steps, confessed and pleaded

“Thou shall guide me with thy counsel and afterward receive me to

glory vs. 24 and in verse 27 he declared “For 10, they that are far
from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a
whoring from thee”

Do you want the glory of God? Stay by His counsel. Do you want to be
blessed? Obey His commandments. Do you loath darkness? Love the
light. Let God lead you by His words, His commands will make you
wiser than your adversaries. If you meditate on the statutes of God you
will have more insight and understandings, if you obey His precepts
your life will be preserved and you will find
delight in His commands. If you want to keep your way pure, live
according to the word of God, in the thickest of this dark world, let the
word of God be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path.

What had been the result of you leading yourself in the past? What
tangible achievement can you paint out? Stop comparing yourselfwith
yourself, stop judging yourself by yourself: aspire not unto the standard
of man, behold the insurmountable height of God’s glory and strive for
more of Him. Allow the Almighty to lead you by His Spirit as you
ascend the pinnacle of success from glory to glory. Have you reached
the roadblock of your ambition? Has your desire terminated in the “cui
de sac” of history? Help is available to you.

Yes my dear reader, help has come your way today, there is a way out
of your present predicament, Jesus Christ is that way, the world had
been lying to you and ripping you off, the word of truth has come your
way today and Jesus Christ is that truth, the suffering, prevalent in the
land is killing and you along with your business seem on the edge

of giving up, today you will receive life for Jesus Christ the life is here
for you. Don’tgive up as your vision from today will no longer lack a
sense of mission, your unction will no longer perish without a function
and hence forth all your action will not suffer for lack of direction, I
remember that song written by S. Baring-Gould which says:

Onward Christian Soldiers

Marching as to war
With the Cross of Jesus
 Going on before
Christ the royal master
Leads against the foe
Forward into battle
See, his banner go.

There is a sure witness in the scriptures, the restorer of your soul will
lead you in the path of righteousness, and that for His name’s sake. The
Bible says at the name ofJesus every knee must bow, so I command
that all the directionless toiling of your life cease now in the name of
Jesus, I pray that every shackle of pride and egotism should break now,
that God will quicken your mortal being and

cause your flesh to be alive and responsive to the prompting of the

Holy Ghost in Jesus name. Life is a battle field with a rugged
mountainous terrain and overflowing behemoth invested and piranha
in-habiting rivers, the low-lands are no places of refuge as they are
heavily invaded by leviathans but possible is still a triumphant march if
only you will focus your attention on the cross before and allow the
Royal master to lead against the foe, He did it for the Israelites by the
leading of the cloud, at a critical period with Pharaoh’s war behind and
the red sea in front He did not forsake them, He led them through on
dry ground but Pharaoh’s warriors were submerged in the sea, I decree
that all your enemies that refuse to back out will perish in the sea and
become food for fish and crocodile. Hear this

“At the commandment of the Lord the childreh of Israel journeyed

and at the commandment of the Lord they pitched, as long as the
cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents, And when
the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the
children of
Israel kept the charge of the Lord and journeyed not- Num.9:18-19

I am introducing to you a commander who knows when to order your

step and your stop, He knows when it is right to move or stop moving
because He has been through this way before, He lived a triumphant
life and has purposed to lead you to triumph but one thing is expedient,
you must be willing to follow Him through, He will not force you but
will leave you to expedite action on your decision, He knows the
terrain, He knows the landmark, he understands the weather, the
climate and the vegetation answer to His call, He is a good business
man un-affected by the fluctuations in the economic index, His
integrity is still at its height so He is worthy to be followed.

The journey to the promised land was temporarily truncated when the
Israelites came upon a formidable enemy in river Jordan, furiously
running with over flowing banks, for three days they remain stationary
unable to progress but yet beholding fortune and future from afar,
believe me nothing can be as fiustrating, so your feeling about what
you are going through is quite understandable but let me share this
message of hope with you in Joshua 3:2-4.

“And it came to pass after three days that the officers went through
the host and they commanded the people saying, when ye see the
ARK of the covenant of the Lord your God and the priests, the levites
bearing it then ye shall remove from your place and GO AFTER IT,
yet there shall be a space between you and it about two thousand
cubits by measure, come not near unto it THAT YE MAY KNOW
THE WAY BY WHICH YE MAY GO, FOR YE HAVE NOT
PASSED TlIIS WAY HERETOFORE

The emphasis here is on going after the Ark for direction, the year
ahead has a lot in stock for you both good and evil, if you follow the
Lord you will be led away from the evil and into the good, the days
ahead in the year are strange, unknown and yet to be experienced, the
journey into the millennium is such as had never been experienced
before so you can only trust the All Knowing God to lead you through,
the months ahead are full of races to be run and victories to be won. Let
danger and even death lie in wait ahead the conqueror

of danger and death will lead you and you will not be touched by the
hot fingers of danger or the cold grip of death.

I wish to remind you that you are witnessing your last millennium on
earth as you can not go through onto 3001 A.D., if by reason of grace
you spend another 100 years on earth I assure you that, that will be the
last century you will conquer, then where is life’s journey leading you
to?, what is your ultimate destination, who has been your leader? And
where is he leading you? And for the most thought provoking of all,
why are you following him in spite of are you what waits for you as a
final prize.

I on my part have a leader who has been beaten that I may not be bitten
by any serpent or sickness and sorrow, so I follow Him, I have a leader
who has chosen to be poor that I may not lack any good thing, so I
follow Him.
I have a leader who hungers that I may be ful~ who thirsts that I may
have to drink, who died that I may live, He was dead but is alive for
evertl10re so I follow Him, He knows where He is going for He said
“He is the way th, truth and the life” So I follow Him, He spoke about
a place in eternity where there will be no sighing or sorrowing, no
hunger, no thirst, no labour but honour, no crying but singing, no hiss
but bliss so I follow Him. He said He is going before to prepare a place
for me after which He will come for me so I am waiting and watching
for I will still follow Him He warned of another place of agony, a place
of torment, a place of sorrow, a place of pain and He revealed it like
this in Rev. 9:2.
And he opened the bottomless pit (Abyss) and there arose a smoke
out of the pit as the smoke of a great furnace and the $un and the air
were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit”
what a dreadful place!
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and
brimstone where the beast and the false prophets are and shall be
tormented day and night for ever and ever. Rev.20:10

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast
into the lake of fire” Rev. 20:15.

Will you remain a blind follower after reading this message,

will you continue to be deceived and will you be passive in your

decision to follow the truth and thus active in racing to hell?

Be you a Guru, Alhaji, Ustas, Chief Imam, Shari a advocate,

Archbishop, Right or Left Reverend, High priest or Chief Prophetess, if
your leader has not confirmed to you where he is leading you and you
are waiting to find out at judgment, you will land in hell and discover
sorrow. It follows therefore that if you do not know where you are
going, you will always end up in the wrong place, there should be no
cold complicity, no attitude of passivity can save you, your religious
activity is vanity, a mere exercise in futility, make a conscious effort to
follow the only one that knows the way even Jesus Christ our Lord.

CHAPTER 6

RECEIVING THE UNCTION

T he Holy Scripture is a divine manual that contains

the promises of God and pathways to good success and prosperity,

God is the sole giver of life and is able to supply man with all his needs
based on a measure of grace and the level of relationship with Him and
also man’s relationship with the world.
Relationship involves interaction and interactions breed information
while information leads to transformation by causing a reorientation
which affects human action and attitude and with proper co-ordination,
results in glorious translation. Elisha made a difficult request from
Elijah and for daring to ask, a condition was set for his request to be
met.
“And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood afar off
and they two stood by Jordan. And Elijah took his mantle and
wrapped it together and smote the water and they were divided hither
and thither so that they two went over on dry ground And it came to
pass when they were gone over that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what
I shall do for thee before I be taken away from thee, And Elisha said,
I pray thee, let a double portion of thy Spirit be upon me. And he said
thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless if thou see me when I am
taken from thee it shall be so unto thee but ifnot it shall not be so 2
King 2:7-10.

Elisha unlike fifty other apprentices under Elijah was close enough to
see Elijah separate the Jordan river with his mantle and so he requested
for such a power and he was instructed to get even closer and more
faithful that the anointing could be apportioned to him. It has been said
that our attitude to God determines our altitude with Him, whatever
you perceive is what you most like1ywill receive and whatever your
mind can conceive you can achieve, Elisha, desired a double portion of
anointing, he perspired by working and walking close with Elijah and
acquired what he admired.
In Mark3:13-15 we read
“And he (Jesus) goeth up into a mountain and calleth unto him
whom he would and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve
that they should be with him and that he might send them to preach.
And to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out devils.
Jesus Christ our Lord chose the disciples first for the purpose of being
with Him, relate with Him and that through their interaction there
might be a reformation of their lives, that the disciples will learn His
ways and afterwards that He might send them to peach that which they
might have been well informed of, their action and orientation having
been changed by the information received and after obtaining a
translation into the realm ofthe supernatural through the impartation of
the power to perform the extraordinary.

God beckoned unto Moses through the flame offire and Moses made
himself available by answering the call and being in His divine
presence where he received instruction, God even asked him to purge
himself for closer and better relationship.
“Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in-law the priest of
Midian and he lem the flock to the backside of the desert and came to
the mountain of God even to Horeb.
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of
the midst of a bush and he looked and behold the bush burned with
fire and the bush was not consumed
And Moses said 1 will now turn aside and see this great sight why the
bush is not burnt
And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto
him out of the midst of the bush and said Moses, Moses, And he said
Here am I. Exo 3: 1-4.

God is calling on you today for a closer and more cordial relationship,
He needs available vessels that will serve as caniers of his power, if
you want wonders in your life you have to relate with the one whose
name is wonderful. Jesus Christ knows the importance of the unction to
function and thus His advice to the disciples to stay for the reception
before the manifestation,
“And behold, 1 send the promise of my father upon you, tarry ye in
the city of Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high”
Luke 24:49.

The disciples obeyed and the power came, the promise is hereby
extended to you today, if you will be in one accord with God l your day
of Pentecost will fully come and you shall receive power and the
wisdom to make the world a better place to live, then you shall be
raised in status and your name shall not be erased from the annals of
this generation.

CHAPTER 7
 PASSING OVER

W e live in a dynamic world where changes are taking

place every micro-second, good or bad, we witness changes

daily. The word of God said in Genesis 8:22
“While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest and cold and heat
and day and night shall not cease”.

And true to divine arrangement, we witness Passover every moment of

life, the whole scripture is all about passing over, in my life and
ministry, I have witnessed multitudes passing over from darkness to
light, sinners have been saved, the sick have been healed, misfortune
changed to fortune, zeroes have been transformed to heroes, people on
the verge of a break down have gotten their breakthrough and all
because Christ our Passover had been sacrificed for us (I Cor. 5: 7).

Are you weary, heavy laden, crowded with a whole lot of troubles?
Don’t panic, here is the Lord’s invitation in the book of Matthew
ll:28-30,

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will
give you rest Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek
and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my
yoke is easy and my burden is light.

This divine invitation is for you, especially you reading me today, the
good Lord knows you, He knows you are sick, He knows your business
is not doing well, He knows you are financially broke and on the verge
of bankruptcy, your own yoke is your way ward wife, your husband is
a drunkard and the children are not doing well at school may be your
marriage is not fruitful or it seems you will never get married, Jesus
Christ, the yoke breaker, the burden bearer says for you to come, He is
the one with all the answers, He wants to take you from your depth of
sorrow to the realm of joy, come and cross with Him the bridge of
shame unto the shore of fame.

You have tried all you can on that side of the divide, there, it is full of
toil, sadness, crowdiness, needs, inability, instability, disability, Jesus
Christ has another plan for you and permit me to share His vision with
you let us read the good news from Mark 4:35:
“And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, let
us PASS OVER unto the other side”

I pray that today you will not read this book in vain, by this book you
are holding there is going to be a yoke breaking impartation on your
life, this same day marks the end of all your palaver, the evening of
sorrow is here, you will weep no more in the name of Jesus Christ, you
will enter into a new dawn and joy will come by the morning. The Lord
says unto you “Let us pass over unto the other side”, if you will come
unto Him today He will lead you from the side of the ridiculous to the
side of the miraculous.
The story continues like this in verse 36:

“And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as
he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships”

Who or what are the multitudes of your life that will not allow you to
see clearly and think reasonably, is it your extended family, old peers
or your working place where you have been ensnared by a life of
corruption or your ill-gotten wealth? the Bible says in Heb.12:1-2
“Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a
could of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin which doth
so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set
before us”

You got yourself into this jam because you had been leading yourself
or at best following a blind guide, your problem is that you have a fire
brigade approach to God, you calIon God to come and bless your plan
and not to plan your blessing, you remember to pray only when you
have problem, you never start your day, your business or project with
God, you only call on Him when things are not working according to
your plan, no wonder your present predicament. If you must have good
success in life you need to start afresh with God, put your delight in the
Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart, let Him carry you
through, invite Jesus into your personal life, your home and all your
life endeavour.

The other little ships that sailed with Christ and the disciples conotes
nothing but a family of believers show me your friends and I will tell
you who you are, the people you move with and your business partners
contribute either to your woes or success in life, like begets likes, iron
sharpens iron, you can get inducted into good or bad by your
association and relationship my advice in this regard is
not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what
fellowship hath righteousness with un- righteousness? And what
communion hath Ught with darkness? And what concord hath Christ
with Belial or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2 Cor. 6:14-15.

It is also said that

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise but a companion of
fools shall be destroyed” Prov. 13:20.
Your life may have been on the path of destruction due to the bad
company you had been keeping, please join today the fellowship of
believers who will encourage you and give you wise counsel. The rest
of the story goes like this
Mark 4:37-40.
“And there arose a great storm of wind and the waves beat into the
ship so that it was now full, And He was in the hinder part of the ship
asleep on a pillow and they awake him and say unto him, master,
carest thou not that we perish? And he arose and rebuked the wind
and said unto the sea PEACE, BE STILL, And the wind ceased and
there was a great calm. And he said unto them why are ye so fearful?
how is it that ye have no faith”?

Having decided to change gear and cross into a new realm and
dimension in life, a new way of doing things, a change in pattern and
perception of life there is bound to be a revolt, when a drug addict
decides to do drugs no more, his body system will protest and unleash
on him deadly pains, when a conupt person decides and says no more
bribery in his office, his cohorts will wage wars and call him names, in
trying to pitch selfish interest against the will of God there will be
oppositions, contrary circumstances and spiritual barriers, whoever has
decided for God is naturally an enemy of satan and devil will definitely
do evil by bringing impediments, winds and storm, but since the
promise of God who is ever faithful says that
“When thou passest through the waters
I will be with thee and through the rivers
they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest
through the f11’e, thou shall not be burned:
neither shall the flame kindle
upon thee” Isaiah 43:2.
I am sure the one that is calling you today is faithful, He is always by
your side and will neither leave nOf forsake you, call upon Him in the
day of trouble and He will deliver you, He cares for you and will
answer when you call, He will arise and scatter your enemies, He will
command any raging storm to be still. Only you should allow this word
of God today to mingle with faith in your heart, forget all and take hold
of Him who has called, promised and who is able to deliver.

A great Passover was going to take place in order to bring the Israelites
out of Egypt across the Red Sea into the goodly heritage that God had
planned and promised to their forefathers but God was going to use that
which was in the hand of Moses to initiate a series of events that
cuhninated in the divine liberation, by virtue of the rod in Moses hand,
Egypt was going to be invaded with plagues, the angel of death was
going to kill the firstborn of all living being in Egypt but passover those
of the Israelites, the Israelites were to passover from slavery and
servitude to sonship and freedom but there had to be a Moses and there
had to be a rod in his hand.
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the
manifestation of the Sons of God Rom 8:19

You are not created for the fun of it and the world is waiting eagerly for
you to manifest truly.

CHAPTER 8

O P P O R T U N I T I E S
T here are times and chances when circumstances are

right and indices are most suitable for doing a tiling, these periods
have been described as opportunities. There is a difference between
doing the right thing and doing same at the right time, a right word
spoken at the wrong time becomes all the same wrong, help is no help
if it does not arrive when needed, potentials are useless when there are
no opportunities to express them.

A good singer can only excel when given the stage, a lawyer can only
advocate when he receives a brief and a judge will not be able to
perform when there are no cases to decide, the best surgeon can only
operate and prove his worth when cases are available, increase in
knowledge might result to increase in sorrow unless there are
opportunities to utilize the additional skill.

There is this story of a mother rebuking her little son and she uttered a
statement as follows “you better wear your uniform now or you will
wear it later” At first the statement sounded to me ordinary but upon
deeper reflection, I caught the hidden admonition and realized the
weight of the statement, obviously the child does not like going to
school because he does not like wearing uniform and the mother is
making him to realize the importance of wearing uniform now as a
student with a lot of dignity and that if this opportunity should pass him
bye, he might end up in life wearing his uniform as a matter of duty
either as an undignified gateman or messenger in an office without any
choice or chance to redress the situation any longer.

The last millennium has gone with all the opportunities it had to offer,
many of such were taken and many were missed while still many were
unrecognized. We are into another millennium with every day of every
year a day full of opportunities, a message of recognition is coming
your way today to help you to recognize these opportunities, seize them
and make them to serve you, there can be no success without
opportunity much has been said about the issue of preparation,
opportunity to utilize the potentials that God has deposited in man is
another bottle neck on the road to success., potentials like ideas are
blind and still born until the light of opportunity shines and such a
chance when properly taken breeds life and viability into projects,
successful men of this world are men that are opportuned to succeed
and only those that recognize such opportunities, miracles nowadays
and in biblical times were received because people were opportuned to
be at the right place at the right time and doing the right thing, the
thought must be right in the right atmosphere and with the right action
you get the right result. While I agree that success can at times be a
chance thing, it is even more and certainly so, a choice affair in order
words opportunity can either come your way or be created by you.

Blind Bartimeus was a man like you, the world reckoned unto him a
blind man, son of Mr. Timaeus who is always sitting by the road side,
the only potential he had was his voice, he can speak and even shout,
so loud to cover the noise of a multitude if need be, his only vocation
was begging and he was good at it, doing it with all diligence of the
trade, he was at his usual location in the heat of this fateful day when
he received an infonnation that will forever change his situation and
give him a message and a testimony.

Let’s consider this story

“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his
disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimeus, the :son of
Timaeus, sat by the high way side begging. And when he heal’d that
it was Jesus of Nazareth , he began to cry out and say Jesus, thou
SOn of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he
should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son
of David have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still and commanded
him to be called and they call the blind man saying unto him, Be of
good comfort, rise: he calleth thee. And he casting away his garment
rose and came to Jesus and Jesus answered and said unto him what
wilt thou that I should do unto thee?, the blind man said unto him
Lord, that I might receive my sight.
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole
and immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way
Mk. l0:46-52.

Yes, this man has not got much going for him, but he was working at it,
he reported for his begging duty On time and did not run away from
work, he was asking for alms with his mouth but his ears were yet alert,
he heard rumblings around him and demanded to know what was
happening, he was told Jesus of Nazareth was passing, he processed
this infonnation in his mind and recognized an opportunity has COme
his way, he knows that by the mercy of God, healing is at hand, he
recognized his need and cried unto Him who is able to deliver, he was
rebuked and scolded but he became more aggressive, he has a vision
with a sense of mission that no human effort can thwart, the Bible
recorded that he shouted all the more, a great deal, he became more
creative in his shouting since this is the much he can do and by this,
help came his way, Jesus stood still to attend to him, the Lord
interrupted His journey to show mercy, our Saviour waived aside the
multitude to meet the need of the individual because it was the right
thing to do and the opportunity was there to glorifY the Father, an
opportunity also created by a cry offaith by the one who has a need to
be healed.

Opportunities come in three categories, the man blind Bartimeus

utilized all and I am going to recommend all to you that as from today
you will never fail again to recognize any and that your full
resources will be harnessed together for maximum profits and optimum
blessings. I pray that as you cry unto the Lord this year, your cry shall
not be in vain, your labour shall not go unrewarded, God Will
silence your adversaries and like He sent the multitudes to call
Bartimeus, Jesus Christ will command your detractors to serve you.

As you go along with me in this book, you will receive information

unto inspiration, just like Bartimaeus received his sight you will receive
illumination, a lamp will be lighted onto your feet and your path will
receive a shine. I decree that heavens will stand still to hear your case
and for all the losses the enemy has inflicted on you in the last
millennium, an opportunity will be given to you to name and claim
your compensation and as the erstwhile blind man started walking with
Jesus you will have a chance to walk with the greats of this world and
an opportunity to reign yonder in Jesus name.

The life of Prophet Nehemiah is another good case of opportunity

recognised and utilized.
And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of
Ataxerxes the King, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine
and gave it unto the King. Now I had not been before time sad in his
presence. Wherefore the King said unto me, why is thy countenance
sad seeing thou an not sick?, this is nothing else but So”OW of heart,
then I was very sore afraid
And said unto the King, Let the King live forever: why should not my
countenance be sad when the city, the place of my father’s
sepulchers lieth waste and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?
Then the King said unto me, for what dost thou make request? So 1
prayed to the God of heaven. Neh. 2:1-4
Beloved, a message has come your way today that will forever change
your life and turn your misfortune to fortune, I have been sent your
way today to decree hope into your hopelessness. I have come to shine
the light divine into the dark, evil recesses of your existence, in place of
your bitterness you will receive betterment, enough of your cries as the
causative crises will give way today and the only tears you will hence
forth shed will be tears of joy in Jesus Name.

The man Nehemiah had never been so overwhelmed with so much

sorrow before in his life, A calamity had suddenly befallen him, the
city of his fathers was in destruction, he just received a bad news that
even the gates were consumed, his heart was heavy and his sorrow so
deep that his demeanor became malformed and his countenance
changed so much that it became noticeable to the king, upon
interrogation, he unburdened his mind unto the king and 10 and behold
a door was opened for him, an opportunity arose for him, the King
permitted Nehemiah to ask what he would, instead of being executed
for a breach of court etiquette, a time and a chance will happen in your
life that will transform and translate you from the depth of sadness to
the pinnacle of joy in Jesus name,

I pray you will not die unsung, you will make your full mark in life and
everything will work together in your favour to accomplish that which
God has purposed for you, when your time to shine comes you will not
fail to recognize it. I decree a stop to your weeping that the tears may
not blindfold you from seeing an opportunity passing. Let not the
shipwreck of your family or the economic mishap in your business give
you a spiritual derailment, stay alert and refuse to be mentally deranged
by the dictates of the national budget, Be focused, be attentive and be
sensitive that you might hear when the question is asked of you to ask
your question and a request is made of you to make your request, the
great provider with His inexhaustible treasure house is abundantly able
to meet your every need and He is willing to do just that.

Take a tip from the prophet, when he was asked to spell out how he
could be assisted, the scripture recorded that U] prayed to the God of
heaven” opportunities will definitely come your way but you need to
pray for them to come and when they come for you to discern and
recognize which is of God as it is only that which comes from God that
will have no sorrow or regret attached, All that glitter is not gold, the
Spirit of God will guide and guard your choices.

There are three ways by which opportunities will be open to you and
I want you to watch and pray concerning these.

(1) God Ordained Opportunities.

In the last two scripture passages I shared with you, I want you to note
God’s hands in the two events, it is an act of God that Jesus Christ was
passing through Jericho at the time blind Bartimaeus was sitted and
begging for alms, instead of putting Nehemiah to death for wearing a
sad look in the presence of the king, God softened the heart of the king
and granted the man favour and mercy with the king so much that all
his requests were granted. Only the Almighty God can design and
package such a breakthrough for man and yours shall not be long in
coming in Jesus name, God will surely intervene in your situation

It is God’s ordained opportunity to be created a man with all your

appendages and special senses that you may use to dominate other
creatures, it does not matter what you think but I know it is a wonderful
opportunity for you to be born a Nigerian, God never makes mistakes,
He knows what He is doing and he knows what is best for you.
Beloved, if you are situated in this country and you are “thinking of
bailing out” I admonish you today to have a rethink, the solution is not
in relocating yourself but it is in renovating yourself, if you are not
where God wants you to be you cannot be what He wants you to be and
therefore cannot be the best. Divine allocation can only be available to
you in your divine location, your help will not come from abroad, it can
only come from above and will only come at the right time.

I know of a situation that was more pathetic than whatever you might
be going through now, in Genesis 26:1 the Bible says

“And there was afamine in the land beside the first famine that was
in the days of Abraham and Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the
Philistines unto Gerah.

Dear reader, you will agree with me that no mortal being can create
famine in the whole earth as it was, this was no doubt a God ordained
opportunity for His elect to excel, I pray that out of the failure of your
life you will rise up and succeed, when the whole world is seeing waste
you will see wealth. In verse 2 of the passage, God appeared to Isaac
not to relocate to Egypt or check out from Gerah, he was assured of
God’s presence and blessings if he obeyed the Lord. Isaac sojourned in
the land in obedience and he received the promises. Gerah to Isaac
signifies a land of opportunities, created by God, put in need that the
chosen one might bring in the supplies and meet the need, it was
written in verse 12 that Isaac sowed in the land and in the same year
he reaped an hundred fold and the Lord blessed him, A situation of
no food was created that the produce ofIsaac might sell, there was even
the necessity of water after food and this is also divine, So Isaac started
water business, digging well after well until he became exceedingly
rich.

Look around you today, in the place where God had located you,
there are opportunities for you to succeed, think about it, if there is no
need for you, He will not create you and place you where you are, Isaac
had to be in Gerah at a period offamine that he might plant, reap and
sell. You will begin to see rubies from rubbles as you look on with your
eyes of opportunities. I hereby charge you like Mordecai to Esther ..
“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall
there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another
place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed; and who
knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as
this?
Esther 4: 14.

There is a big breakthrough coming your way today and it is the only
breakthrough worth relying upon because it is Godmade and when God
makes a thing no devil can unmake it, your chance to excel is at hand
and the power to see and to hear about it will be bestowed upon you by
the Lord and when this happens, you will know and realize what you
should do and when to do same.

There is this story of Isaac in Gerar of the Philistines, this man saw
famine and he realized that the antidote to fiunine is farming so he
planted in the land, he knew that the only way around scarcity is
abundance so he embarked on production, positive steps have to be
taken to overcome any negativity in life, your circumstances as
unpalatable as it might be may just be a way that God will use to bring
out the best in you so I want you to see it as an opportunity to make it
better, thank God for the power of recognition and realization, if things
are not good enough with you, that is a tremendous opportunity to
make things better and I hope you visualize it that way too.

(2) Identification of needs around you

This is the second category of opportunities, the power of recognition
and realization will help you in the identification of low level or
absolute lack of provision and this will stir up a vision in you to
embark on production in order to bring forth a solution. Brother Isaac
in genesis 26 saw the need for people to eat so he made food available
and hereby became very wealthy, he did not stop at this he also saw the
need for people to drink water after food and this is done in hot
competition with livestock not to talk of the need of water for
irrigation because the land is dry and harsh due to scarcity of water so
he embarked on water business by digging wells and because water
in those days was like gold and this stirred up a swell of opposition and
contention but the man kept digging until God made room for him, I
pray that in the midst of adversity God will expand and enlarge your
coast, there is a whole lot of needs out there waiting to be met,
mankind will keep needing one thing or the other in life and these have
to be produced, look around you and you will see furniture out of
timber and generate wealth from waste.
In the tropical weather of Nigeria with the blazing sun and
accompanying heat and high rate of dehydration, it is a common site at
motor parks and along the road during traffic hold ups to see hawkers
of water in sachets and plastic bottles because the people have the need
for “cold pure water” that has to be met and I tell you such is an
opportunity to make a lot offortune no wonder you see pure water in
different brands and designs.
During the Israelites journey in the wilderness a situation arose that
almost caused Moses to be stoned by the Israelites
“And all the congregation of the children
of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of
Sin, after their journeys, according
to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched
in Rephidim: and there was no water lor
the people to drink” Exo. 17:1
These people chided Moses and accused him bitterly because they have
a need. Take a good look around you, consider the town you are living
in and critically examine the country as a whole, there is so much hues
and cries everywhere because people have needs, I even heard some
Lebanese expatriates say of Nigeria that they pick money on the streets,
they are into every facet of our economy because in their dexterity and
shrewdness they see needs in the country and they strive to meet such

Talking about Moses, he took his case to God and this led to the 25th
miracle of the bible - water from the rock

“And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, What shall I do unto this
people? They be almost toeady to stone me, And the Lord said unto
Moses, Go on before the people and take with thee of the elders of
Israel and thy rod where with thou smotest the river, take in thine
hand and go, Behold I will stand before thee there upon the rock in
Horeb,. and thou shall smite the rock and there shall come water out
of it that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the
elders of Israel” Exo. 17:4-6.

Brethren as you cry unto the Lord in prayer, God will show you the
howbeit and the wherewithal that the needs around you and in the
world you live could be met by you. Moses had his potential rod of
exploits in his hand and this has severally worked to meet the needs of
his generation in miraculous ways. God would point his attention to the
rod again that he might use it to smite the rock that water may
come out, that which is inherent in you and had been part of your
physical and structural make up will be brought to bear and will selVe
to make you relevant in your home, community and the nation in
general, the way you will manifest hence forth will make you to be
highly patronized because God will make use of you physically and
spiritually to supply the needs of the people, the gifts of God in you is
to make profit and I pray these gifts will not perish with you in Jesus
name you only need to go to God in prayer to help you in the
recognition of the needs and the potentials at your disposal.

There is also this crave for education in the country, almost everybody
want a paper qualification but not everybody has the opportunity to go
for higher education, some people recognized this need in the life of
Nigerians so they have brought even University education to the grass
root by establishing satellite campuses around major towns, an
opportunity for such people to make money and opportunity for
beneficiaries to have their desires acquired, the only dangerous trend in
tIlls and I make bold to say this with a strong warning is that this
programme is assuming an exploitative dimension with satanic
inclination because lectures are now being held even on Sunday
mornings when people are supposed to be worshipping the Almighty
God in their churches, Christians must be alert and be careful of the
devices of the enemy that you may not be prey unto a demonic trap
orchestrated from the pit of hell.

The story of the woman with the issue of blood is another lesson in
opportunity.
“And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve
years, she had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors
and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew
worse, when she came up behind hi”, in the crowd and touched his
cloak BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT “If I just touch his clothes, I will
be healed” Mk. 5:25-28 (NIV)

Progress in life comes as a function of action based on revelation, the

antenna of any Godly revelation is a mind tuned in the right frequency
for spiritual perception, the mind of man is the gateway into his life, the
mind has a thinking faculty that forms the bedrock for collation of
impulses from both within and without for generation of ideas, ideas
are still-born until put into action so the mind helps not only to initiate
but also to activate as innovation leads on to activation. A change from
potentiality to kineticity is as a result of energy generated by thought,
therefore thought is action in rehearsal.

Reception is an offspring of perception and a grand child of

conception, it follows therefore that whatever the mind of man can
conceive, the hand of man can receive, it has been said that the only
place where your dream dies is in your mind, you can not think trash
and get treasure.

The woman in the passage read above had suffered a great deal, she
had suffered many things because of the reprobate state of her mind
and the inactivity of her thought life, she had been for twelve years a
dumping ground of whatever the world has to offer by way of ideas and
suggestions no wonder she goes about a stinking, derelict soul, an
object of derision, a societal outcast, totally ignorant of the plan and
purpose of God for her life.

The Lord has revealed to me you are suffering because of your

ignorance, you have a malformation of the mind due to a barrage of
disinformation from the world and this has left you in a state of
deformation but I have brought to you today a proclamation of
liberation that will cause a switch of your mind from a state of inanition
to activation and you will hence forth perceive right and receive right.

This sick and debilitating woman heard about Jesus and she was
galvanized into action for she processed the information in her mind
and received inspiration there from and the amazing thing happened
that changed her ridicle to miracle, her inner eyes became open and
her thought life received life for the Bible records “SHE
THOUGHT”, she made use of her mind for the first time in twelve
years, another version of the Bible writes “she said to herself’, she
suggested something to herself aside from the suggestions of the
Doctors and families, mends and relatives. This brings me to the third
category of opportunities.

(3) Creative Imagination

The psychologists and philosophers describe this as auto suggestion or

self encouragement. It can also be called conscientious initiation or self
motivation. It is a product of the exercise of the mind and capacity
utilization of the thought. This is a divine ability though may be subject
to corruption by the flesh or human nature but also capable of
generating and releasing liberative energy depending on the prevalent
impulse. The woman with the issue of blood heard the good news of
Jesus and she acted on it and received healing because she imagined
herself getting healed on impact. She thought of what to do and she did
it. She even surmounted obstacles on her way by pressing through the
crowd, she became undaunted in the face of obvious intimidation
because she was neither cajoled nor coerced as to what to do. She has
started thinking and she wants to stop stinking so she was propelled
beyond wincing and she struggled without flinching.

I know another person who by joining the company of thinkers

received the accolade ofa winner. Please read this before you attempt
that much anticipated suicide due to the seeming hopelessness of your
situation. God is ready to destroy the covering cast over your soul and
the deadly veil that is spread over you.
“And the keeper o/the prison awaking out of His sleep and seeing the
prison doors open, he drew out his sword and would have killed
himself. Supposing that the prisoners have fled But Paul cried with a
loud voice saying do thyself no harm for we are all here. Then he
called for a light and sprang in, and was trembling and fell down
before Paul and Silas. And brought them out and said, Sirs, WHAT
MUST I DO to be saved? Acts 16: 27-29.

I pray that this message will stir and rock you out of your state of
spiritual and physical “somnolence” for a little sleep has made this
poverty you are experiencing to creep upon you. There is no use killing
yourself or packing up with that home or business. Call for the God of
light to shine His light of hope into your situation and do this in total
surrender and absolute penitence then you will receive illumination into
your mind and be able like the Philipian jailer who after observing the
mysterious wonder working power of God in the liberation of Paul and
Silas bowed down and asked WHAT MUST I DO?

The moment you begin to ask of yourself “What”?, you have started
getting creative, innovative and enterprising, you are on the edge of a
big break and about to make a big discovery. Contemplation will give
birth to anticipation and your excitement will be fired up, with a
newfound energy you will rise from the depth of sorrow unto the
glorious height of success.

You can create opportunity for yourself by probing deep into your
being, what can you offer the society. How can you improve the
situation of the world around you? What does the world lack that you
can supply and surely these are many for you are a distinct creation
with a peculiar purpose and the world has a need for your contribu tion
to make it a better place to live in.

Do you want to better your lot and improve your situation? Look
inward, what is it in you that can make that happen? Surely, there is
something. The journey of a thousand kilometer does not start with a
step. It starts with a thought. You first think about it before you embark
on it. Hear this

“And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of

my father have bread enough and to spare and I perish with hunger?
I will arise and go to my father Luke 15 : 17~18.

This is the conviction and resolve of the prodigal son. His condition
after he has flittered away all his inheritance brought him to his senses
and he realized his end if he continued in it. He compared himselfwith
the servants of his father making his final decision to go back home and
plead for the lowest place in the household.

A decision to embrace humility brought exaltation, a decision to

forsake the old created an opportunity for the new to spring up. The
prodigal son was hanging at the bottom of the rope and having looked
around discovered there is nowhere else to go but up. Therefore, he
swallowed his pride and his confession brought an opportunity for
restoration.

Dear reader, I charge you today

“shake thyself from the dust and sit down, o Jerusalem: loose
thyselffrom the hands of thy neck, 0 Captive daughter of Zion. Isaiah
52 : 2.

Your decisions today might make or mar your future, men of exploits
are usually men of witty inventions. Car manufacturers have creative
tendencies to change and adapt models by introducing new gadgets,
changing shapes to suit taste and fashions, clothe designers have to be
more and more trendy in order to remain in business, even weather and
climate dictate style and shape. The fast food operators are also getting
more sophisticated in their preparation, presentation and packaging.
Mansions are springing up in our major cities in the country and it is a
delight to behold all these architectural masterpieces, these are
evidences of creative minds at work. If you generate good ideas you
create opportunities for more patronage and further expansion.

There is a great opportunity created for mankind to receive salvation

and deliverance from sin and sinful habits and this has been perfected
through death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Opportunities
to encounter this saving Grace are being created day after day and I
pray that as many unregenerated souls as are reading me today, all will
receive a touch of the Holy Spirit and come to the knowledge of the
truth.

There is a story in Acts 8 : 26 - 38 where the angel of the Lord directed

Philips to an Ethiopian Eunuch, a man of substance in charge of the
queen’s wealth possessing pieces of treasure but lacking peace and
pleasure for he had been studying without understanding.

“Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near and join thyself to this
chariot Verse 29.

Here is a divine opportunity to meet with a person of different race and

get to know each other in the spirit of fellowship. ferse 30 reads thus ...

“And Philip ran thither to him and heard him read the prophet
Isaiah and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?”.

Here we recognize an opportunity to share the word of God and in

verse 35
“ Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the same scripture and
preached unto him Jesus”.
As one good break will lead to another, teaching and preaching of the
word lead to conviction of the eunuch and this gave rise to a hunger for
the supernatural. The story reads further
“And as they went on their way they came unto a certain water and
the eunuch said, see here is water,’ what doth hinder me to be
baptized? A”d Philip said, if thou believes with all thine heart thou
mayest And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the
son of God
And he commanded the chariot to standstill, and they went down
both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch and he baptized him.

My friend, if rich men know and understand the need for Salvation and
as demonstrated above earnestly seek for it. This is a great opportunity
for you to encounter the Lord today, seek the Lord today while He may
be found, tomorrow may be late. Believe the Lord Jesus today with all
your heart and confess His Lordship with your mouth that you might
receive salvation. Seize this glorious opportunity of our meeting on the
page of paper today to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

“Again He limiteth a certain day saying in David, Today after so long

a time; as it said, today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your
hearts. Hebrew 4 : 7.

And to you out there, please by the mercy of God, see today as a good
opportunity to repent from all your evil ways. Do not die before you
believe.
