Statement of Facts:
Bill 20.012: The goal of Winter Recital is to showcase the musical talents of WSU Vancouver students. The
Orchestra and Performing Arts Club have been conducting solo and ensemble rehearsals since the beginning of
Fall semester for the purpose of the Winter Recital. This event will provide the opportunity for students to join in
on the fun and express their own musical talents. Because of the lack musical courses offered on campus, the
Winter Recital will allow students to engage in an activity center on the musical arts.
*Event advertisement will be featured via fliers, A-frames, Koug Radio, OrgSync and the Vancougar.

Bill 20.013: Kappa Oma Nu (KON), Student Diversity, and the Human Development Club are partnering with
the “I Have a Dream Foundation” to host Dreaming with Cougs. This event is designed to help underrepresented
high school students have an opportunity to experience a day with a WSUV student. This campus experience is
going to encourage underrepresented students to continue with their education despite the adverse challenges they
may be facing. In addition, students will have the ability to pair up with a student/mentor from their field of
interest, attended a morning class, and speak with WSUV faculty. There will be an opportunity for these students
to meet with a Financial Aid representative, Bola Majekobaje, and Admissions Counselors to answer any
questions.

Bill 20.014: The Latino Association has asked eight professors of Latino heritage to share their experiences and
challenges faced with cultural differences while they pursed their education in the US. The purpose of this event
is to give the students an opportunity to learn from the hardships these professors have faced while acquiring their
degrees and relate them to their future endeavors as college students. This discussion will be presented in a panel
format and each professor has been asked to prepare a brief introduction to provide the students background about
themselves. This will be followed by a question and answer session in which participants may ask more detailed
questions. The Latino Association hopes that students attending this event will gain a perspective on how to
overcome challenges they may face or currently be facing by hearing firsthand the professors‟ own experiences.
The Latino Association is requesting funding from the senate for food and drink costs.

Bill 20.015: The External Affairs Committee has organized a campus wide club canned food competition. The
competition will be taking place from November 1st to November 18th. To encourage participation and to
maximize the amount of food raised, there will be a $200 prize for the winning club to put on a pizza party.

Bill 20.016: The Ping Pong tournament will encourage students to improve their self in society, skill and allows
them to connect with other associates through a common activity. It will also allow students to be proactive and
experience a campus event. The club Paddles and Cues have used most club sustainability funds on events and
plan on using the rest in the future. The event is going to be advertised on Facebook, OrgSync, VanCougar, and
A-frames. The event will be open to the campus population and everyone is encouraged to participate. The event
will encourage healthy competition and create an opportunity for students to meet and become more active.

Bill 20.017: The Pool Tournament is an opportunity for students to actively engage in good spirited competition
with other students. Paddles and Cues club has played an active role in providing events on campus and would
