identity for your business you need to create a
Page for that business. It is very important
that you create a Page for your business and
not a Profile. According to Facebook's terms
of service, "Profiles represent individuals and
must be held under an individual name, while
Pages allow an organization, business, celeb-
rity, or brand to maintain a professional pres-
ence on Facebook". If your business profile
gets shut down by Facebook for violating this
rule, your friends list will vanish with it and
you don't want that.
Consider establishing your presence in
the on-line community of Facebook. If you
would like help setting up a Page for your busi-

The law was opposed by real es-
tate attorneys and title insurers because
of the fear such liens can entangle the
subsequent sales of real estate.
There are strict requisites imposed
on the brokers in order to perfect their
liens. What remains to be seen are
the repercussions for brokers or prop-
erty owners in cases where liens are
recorded for disputed commissions.
The law went into effect October 5,
2010.

DTE Energy Recognizes GM Orion Assembly
Plant initiatives result in a 50 percent energy reduction - a $430,000 annual savings
General Motors Orion Assembly was
recently recognized by DTE Energy for a
capital improvement project that resulted
in a 50 percent reduction in energy usage.
As a result of these improvements, Orion

Assembly will save an estimated $430,000
annually.
The plant project involved replacing
2,610 high-intensity discharge 465 watt fix-
tures to a six lamp T8 fluorescent fixture
using 235 watts. Following installation of
the lighting upgrades, DTE Energy pre-
sented the plant with an incentive rebate
of $150,000.
"Our GM and UAW team members
deserve special recognition for their efforts
to reduce waste and conserve energy," said
Alicia Boler-Davis, General Motors Orion
Assembly plant manager. "While install-
ing energy efficient lighting in the plant ben-
efits GM from a cost-savings standpoint,
it has a greater impact on the environment
and builds on the legacy of Orion Assem-
bly being a leader in conservation efforts."
John Ogg, Committeeperson - Gen-
eral Assembly, UAW Local 5960, recog-
nized the efforts of the plant workforce
and the overall benefit to the plant. "UAW
5960 is proud to take part in a project that
saves money, employs our Skilled Trades
and makes a better work place for the mem-
bers of UAW local 5960."
As a result of the lighting upgrades,
the 50% energy reduction is a savings of
5,944 MWh per year. The project is
equivalent to reducing 3,676 Metric Tons
of CO2, which can be compared with the
annual energy use of 324 homes.

Over its 27-year history, Orion team mem-
bers have built more than 4.6 million ve-
hicles for General Motors, while setting an
industry record of continuous operation
without a lost work day (10 million man-
hours, July 2008). The plant also holds the
distinction of becoming the first GM facil-
ity to receive the Clean Corporate Citizen
designation by the State of Michigan.

Love INC: Resources, assistance

for those in need

Love INC of North Oakland County is
a non-profit cooperative effort that links
churches, volunteers, and agencies and
helps them to organize
their efforts by reaching
out to the poor and dis-
advantaged.
We serve as a needs
"clearinghouse" where
people in need contact
us and we in turn get
them connected with lo-
cal churches and agen-

cies that provide them
with assistance.
There are currently 21 area churches
that have joined the Love INC of NOC
Affiliate. The mission of Love INC is to
mobilize the Church to transform lives and
communities In the Name of Christ.
Love INC opened its clearinghouse in
March, 2007. We currently average ap-
proximately 500 phone calls per month
from those seeking assistance with rent,
utilities, transportation, clothing, furniture,
personal needs, among various other types
of requests.
The main ministries which are housed
at area churches are the Clothes Closet,
which is located at St.Mary's in-the-Hills
Episcopal Church (next to Canterbury Vil-
lage), the Personal Needs Ministry, called
"Little Luxuries,” and the Household Min-
istries called "Bed, Blessings, & Beyond,"
which are located at Christ the King
Church in Oxford. Approximately 80 vol-
unteers donate time on a regular basis to
staff these ministries.
It is the hope of Love INC that a much
needed Furniture Ministry be developed in
the near future. A location and sponsor-
ship is needed in order to complete this
mission.
Four area churches are now serving
free meals four nights a week, where indi-
viduals can come for comfort food and con-
versation. These churches are: Lake Orion
United Methodist Church, Immanuel Cong'l
Church, Oxford United Methodist Church
and Christ the King Church. More than
100 volunteers from 10 churches prepare
and cook these meals on a regular basis.

individual donations to provide the funds to
develop and maintain their ministries per

1. Turn off unnecessary lights. A single
60 watt bulb that is left on 2 hours a day, 5
days a week when it could be turned off will
cost you at least $27.50 per year.
Here's why: 60w x 10 hours/week x 52

owner Frank Genovese to produce a

Variety is another big factor. Walk-
ing through the field, one can find
Fraser Fir, the rare Koreana Fir, and a
wide variety of other fir and spruce, up
to 12-feet tall. Trees are priced from
