An abstract
Problem:
In short, the problem for our group is to develop
an intelligent software application whose
purpose is to predict the trend of the
commodities market using Petro-Chemicals.
3
In the age of globalization where the competition
is not local or national but international, it is
imperative to trade goods or raw materials at
the optimum cost. Raw materials are very
important from the overall perspective as the
cost of the raw materials govern the cost of the
Crude oil produced, bought and sold in the
global market place. Hence, even the slightest
changes in the cost of the raw Crude Oil affect
the cost of the product to a great extent. Thus,
the need arises to trade the Crude materials at
the best possible prices.
require these commodities as the input for their
products.
• Fuels
Fuels:
These include light, crude oil, unleaded petrol
( gasoline ), diesel, light petrol, heavy petrol
etc… Undoubtedly, these are the most important
commodities.

Requirement Analysis
Petrol Pump
Operations
Requirement analysis is done for the
convenience of the customer and client dealer,
by undertaking customer interest so as to
understand his needs better. it is understood
that the customer requires a system which can
help him predict the future trend of the
commodities. Based on the current system, we
can only say if the trend will be rising or falling.
The problem with the current system is that a
panel of analysts can present their views on the
5
commodities market by considering parameters
like weather, past inputs, price of related
commodities, etc. this system is therefore not
foolproof.
