pg. 1.
Since we begin in the middle of a thought, we need to get a running start back
in the previous chapter where Jacob and Laban erect a “Witness Heap”
between them. Let’s look at the Hebrew “KEY” words here and then leap
with both feet into this story!
Gen. 31: 51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold
[this] pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee;
Right off the bat, we can see a shadow picture of Israel leaving Egypt where
the bones of their dead lay – except for those of Joseph who are brought out!
Israel becomes a Chaste Virgin upon leaving, the leaven of sin behind! This is
also a shadow picture of our day when the Outcasts of Israel will once again
leave the False Religions – that are full of white (Laban) dead bones and strip
the sin from ourselves as we leave for our Home!
Boundary lines!
A. While we’re here we need to look at Gen. 31: 52: This heap [be] witness,
and [this] pillar [be] witness, that I will not pass over this heap to
thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto
me, for harm.
Gen. 31:34 tells us Rachel, #7354, ewe, it is cognate with #7356, racham,
womb. Rachel sat on the gods to hide them! What is happening is a shadow
picture of Eve in Eden, She opens the WOMB TO THE SERPENTS SEED
AND DIES FOR IT, yet she also births Benjamin, the Son of the Right Hand.
Twins in the womb, just as Cain & Abel! Because of her idolatry, her son
Joseph and his house who represent the OutCasts of Israel, are sold to
bondage again!
II. Now, let’s begin to examine the current Parsha…*Note Gen. 32: 2:
הים׃
ִֽ אֹל
ֱ אֵכי
ֲ מְל
ַ הַלְך ְלַדְרֹּכו ַוִּיְפְּגעּו־ֹבו
ָ עֹקב
ֲ ְוַי
And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.
III. Gen. 32: 3 reveals an oft - overlooked spiritual principle. What happens
in the physical realm is demonstrated in the spiritual realm first.
It is also extremely prophetic the two camps are divided upon meeting
Esau, #6215, ` עשוEsav, (Strong’s has it: hairy), however, lets massage
the Hebrew language to look at the root stem, #6211, `as [ayin-shin] this
word refers to a fragile, yet destructive insect, that could destroy houses
of earth or clay. Metaphorically, in Job, Ps. and Hosea it is used to
describe the destruction of the flesh of men, one’s enemies, and
Ephraim! Adding the vav on the end could infer ‘MY MOTH’ (the
destroying one) who divides the House of Israel!
Gen. 32: 14, 15, gives the details of the number of animals that Jacob –
out of his great fear - sends as gifts to Esau to plead for deliverance. The
total is 550, (Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two
hundred ewes, and twenty rams, Thirty milch camels with their
colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.)
550 is the numerical value of #5404, neser, eagle. It is the Eagle’s wings
with which YHVH delivers Israel out of Egypt, and the eagle who
pictures YHVH hovering over His people to protect them. The Eagle is
seen again delivering Israel in Rev. 12: 14 – 17. Here, the Serpent casts
out of his mouth a flood to destroy the Woman. *NOTE what happens
in Gen. 33: 4.
Incidentally, there are 5 groupings of these ‘gifts’. Ex. 13: 18 says Israel
came out of Egypt harnessed, #2571, chamush, harnessd from, #2570,
chamesh – FIVE! Both camps came out in Battle array against and
enemy! In Hebrew thought, five (5) also represents Torah, Grace &
Favor. Thus, armed with Torah, one can find Grace against his
enemies!
Esau!
Esau ran to meet them. He hugged [Jacob], and throwing himself on his
shoulders, kissed him. They [both] wept.
Vayarats Esav likrato vayechabekehu vayipol al-tsavarav vayishakehu
vayivku.
Above the phrase ‘vayishakehu’, atop of every letter is a dot. The word
‘kissed’, #5401, נשקnashaq, means to kiss, but it is closely related to
5402, weapons, battle, and the above #5404, eagle. The Battle for the
House of Jacob is set into motion and Jacob is delivered on Eagles’
Wings!
IV. Another interesting tidbit to add emphasis to our revelation comes from
Gen. 32: 23, where: And he rose up that night, and took his two
wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and
passed over the ford Jabbok. Let’s look at some hidden Manna!
Indeed, Jacob is Yabboq – emptied, poured out – of the flesh and filled
with the Spirit of Messiah. Gen. 32: 25 tells us later, that Jacob wrestles
with ‘The Angel of YHVH’, personally, I believe it to have been
Yahshua, because the phrase ‘and there wresled’ is אֵבק ָ ַוֵּיthe same word
for Yabboq! An exchanging of Places!
Although the division of the House seems as if it was a curse, in
actuality, it became a way of preserving the Remnant. Thus, this
expanded definition could read:
