4. Altimeters .............. __/__FT ................... P
– Both pilots compare actual QNH with forecast value and set LH, RH and standby altimeters to actual QNH as
applicable at transition level. The change of altimeter setting from 1013.2 hPa to local QNH can be made at the
time a descent clearance is issued to altitude below transition level, provided that after the descent has
commenced, level flight above the transition level is not indicated or anticipated.

– Both pilots cross-check readings of the three altimeters for possible differences by calling out the mb setting
and the indicated altitude.

– If local regulations issue altitude clearance based on meter, set meter altimeter to QNH/QFE.

6. NAVAIDS ............ SET & CHECKED ....... P

– Check that ADF, VOR/DME, ILS are tuned correctly to proper stations for landing RWY and airport. Available
navaids should be used at every approach and landing irrespective of weather conditions, experience and knowledge
of the area and landing airport.
– Check that navaids readings correspond to the expected position in the approach to the runway. This is
necessary in order to maintain proper terrain clearance and to prevent landing on wrong runway or airport.

9. Brake temp & fan .......... __°/SET .........RP
– Brake fan selection should be delayed for a minimum of about 5 minutes or just before stopping at the gate
(whichever occurs first), to allow thermal equalization and stabilization and thus avoid oxidation of brake surface hot
spots. However, when turnaround time is short, or brake temperatures are likely to exceed 500°C, use the brake
fans disregarding possible oxidation phenomenon.
Brake Fan ON; one of these conditions.
-5 mins after landing
-หน้ า gate

-Short connection, short turnaround

-Approaching 500°C

NOTE: The arc displayed on the ECAM WHEEL page, suggesting the selection of brake fans at taxi-out, should be
ignored at taxi-in. The ECAM BRAKE HOT warning after landing should not lead to the immediate selection of
brake fans as long as 500°C is not likely to be reached; wait for 5 minutes after gate arrival.
