Acquisition of Land and ROW Issues
• Standardization of Designs
Standardization of Tower Designs
• Testing of Towers is a time consuming process taking 6-12
months
• Delay have been observed in some of the projects where designs
were in contractors’s scope due to delay in testing of towers
• Design & testing activity can be taken up by utility in advance or
parallely to project approval activities
• Design may be standardized for different wind zones / different
voltages so that repeated activities can be avoided
• Tested design to be given to the contractors after placement of
award. Though quantities shall be on tonnage basis to avoid non-
sequential supply provisions for payment on completed tower
basis should be kept.
Standardization of Designs
• Designs & Drawing may also be standardized to the extent
possible for the following:
–Insulator , Hardware fittings, accessories for Transmission Line
–Substation structures
–Substation equipments like CB, CT, CVT, LA, Insulators etc.
–Control room building, other buildings, colony
