COMPATIBILITY

The XLA (firmware 2.0 and higher) and RTA (firmware 1.6 and higher) H.264 digital video recorders
support the use of a USB mouse for navigating the OSD. Below are the models that have been tested
to work.

INSTALLATION

Simply plug the USB mouse into the front USB port, behind the CD-RW door. If the mouse is
compatible, within 15 seconds a cursor will appear on screen. If no cursor appears, the mouse being
used is not compatible.

NAVIGATION

Preview/Live Navigation

Left-Click: Toggles between single channel view / multi-channel views

Right-Click: Single Channel View – View next channel


Multi-Channel View - View next set of channels

Double Left-Click: Enter Menu (See the Menu section of this manual for details)

Double Right-Click: Move the cursor over the camera you want to view full screen and
double right-click

Scroll Up: Enter Playback/Search

Scroll Down: Enter 24/7 Manual Record Setup

Scroll Button: Enter PTZ Control (See the PTZ section of this manual for details)

Alpha-Numeric Navigation

Left-Click: Selects alpha-numeric field to edit (ex: password field)

Right-Click: Exit

Scroll Up: After selecting a field, moves the alpha-numeric cursor backward

Scroll Down: After selecting a field, moves the alpha-numeric cursor forward

Scroll Button: After selecting a field, Enter Alpha-Numeric Display

Alpha-Numeric Display:

Edit: Deletes character


A: Toggle between number, uppercase, lowercase, symbol

Menu Navigation

Left-Click: Enter/Select

Right-Click: Exit

Scroll Up: After selecting a field, Cycle through options

Scroll Down: After selecting a field, Cycle through options

Scroll Button: After selecting an alpha-numeric field, Enter Alpha-Numeric Display

PTZ Navigation

To enter PTZ Control mode you must be in preview/live view and depress the scroll button

Left-Click: Enter/Select

Right-Click: Exit

Scroll Up: View/Control next camera

Scroll Down: View/Control previous camera

Hint: If using a speed dome, left-click the pan arrow once for slow movement, left-click
again within 1 second for faster speeds. Repeated left-clicks within 1-2 seconds will
change the pan speed on speed domes.

Motion Area/ Privacy Mask Area Navigation

To select a large area, simply use the left mouse button and drag to select the area. Must
drag left to right and up to down.

Left-Click: Set/Unset cell

Right-Click: Exit without saving

Scroll Up: Deselect All

Scroll Down: Select All

Scroll Button: Exit and save settings

Red: Motion Detect Enabled / Privacy Mask Enabled


Blue: Motion Detect Disabled / Privacy Mask Disabled

EXAMPLE
Entering the Menu

1. Ensure the DVR is in preview/live view


2. Double-Click left mouse button
3. Move cursor over the password field and left click
4. Depress the Scroll Button
5. Cursor over and left-click on the numbers for the password (default: 1,2,3,4,5)
6. Cursor over “Confirm” and left-click
