Subject: Comm . meeting today: PR flag painting
Date: Thu , May 23, 2019 9: 16 am
Good morning all. Mariella Alber Lopez, please print this email & bring it to today ' s meeting. I have
to work and cannot make it. I have all ready taken too much time to attended meetings and written
letters to our elected officials about this problem. My time is valuable too and I resent these rouge
types taking up so much of my (and our)precious hours. Your leadership is appreciated and I trust it
will help to end the hard efforts us neighbors have had to endure for so long because of a restaurant,
retail property owner & partners surly behavior. Since La Placifa, (Joey Cancel, the appellant) and
partners had premeditated and randomly painted that unauthorized grandiose oversized politically
induced PR flag (surprising and upsetting us neighbors)overnight on half of a large building on a
major boulevard blasting their music all hours and congesting our street, with mobs of people doing
selfies, (for months) providing minuscule parking with their world wide publicity stunt, exciting
prejudice and aggressive behavior from themselves and their patrons toward us neighbors. I believe
they should jump into their loophole and get over their bully ways. They are indignant and need to
comply to our neighborhood and its historic boards decisions. They all ready have a very large neon
sign made and ready to go if they don ' t manage to get their way. We saw them sneakily holding it up
to the building months ago. Has that sign passed approval before the fact too? With all our efforts as
neighbors and all the fines, police, code enforcement, etc., it seems that nothing much has been
corrected. They still act as though they just don ' t give a damn and somehow deep down are positive
they can get away with anything. I think I' ve made my point. I say comply like all the rest of us have
to do in our growing Upper East Side district. This above the law stuff is really getting old and is
damaging to our dignity and rights to a peaceful existence.
Very Sincerely, D. H. Lasky, a N.E. 68th Street neighbor. ....
