Before giving the solution To Mr. Mit About this problem let’s analyze it first. Mr.

Mit
Parekh Is running CycloMeet since last 4 years which he has founded, and now he is
receiving many queries to join CycloMeet, In the beginning he wanted to create a community
for likeminded people , so he started by coaching his close friends for a challenge and he got
success in this and they enrolled with him. The community has 150 cyclists. He started
getting too many queries for CycloMeet after getting popularity in social sites. He has got
more than 1000 joining application, so now Mr. Mit feels that if he expands CycloMeet
community it’ll lose its original purpose of promoting fitness as a goal, so now let’s find a
solution for it.

So the question is how can he scale up the community (CycloMeet) without compromising
the basic nature of the organization i.e. promote fitness as a goal .To answer this question we
have to look at a few factors which are important for making decision to expand the
organization, As we know that most of the people who want to join the community are day
workers and some of them gym dropouts so Mit has to decide he wants to expand the
community or not, because a lot of people are eager to join Cyclomeet from different
locations.

There is always a possibility of expansion. He can also expand the organization. All he has to
do is make groups based on the location of the cyclists and assign coaches each of these
groups this will help him to expand the organization, but before making the groups he has to
develop a proper selection process for the cyclists. There could be some people who just want
to join the community or organization because they have seen some people on social sites
winning challenges, and they also want to win the competitions he has to select only those
who are eager for fitness because the ultimate goal is to promote fitness as a goal.

Another thing Mr. Mit should do is that there must be some weekly task or assignments for
the cyclists along with competitions and they should be must for every member of the
organization.

One another big issue is drop out, many people join gym and these kind of communities but
drop out few days after joining them. We cannot completely solve this problem but we can
try to some extent by charging some security fee that will be refundable after specific time as
it should not be commercially oriented.

Most of the applicants are day workers so Mr. Mit should develop a schedule for those who
are day workers for evening and morning time and those who are not day workers can
easily participate in the daytime. He has to develop proper management system to meet the
growing demand; he cannot handle it solely. So he has to hire some employees and coaches
as well.

Another question was should he stick to the current size of the organization? Let’s look at the
ultimate goal of the organization i.e. promoting fitness as a goal, so the answer is very simple
no one can promote anything if he stick to the same location and same people, he must go out
of that to meet people and show them what he has to offer, how it can be beneficial to them.
He should definitely expand the organization to meet the ultimate goal. He can also convert
his organization into an NGO, as he is not doing all this for financial advantages he could
have vast reach and could easily achieve the goal.

Mr. Mit should definitely expand, there are a lot of possibilities for his organization. He can
promote fitness as a goal anywhere and anytime, he just have to follow a schedule for day
workers, hire some staff including management team and coaches and should implement a
good selection procedure for the applicants.
