Programme Overview :-
Law is not just about learning what the rules are, but about thinking about what they should be.
This degree offers a truly modern legal education reflecting the needs and concerns of society in
the 21st century. Whether you are planning a career in the legal profession or a career in almost
any other field of expertise, this degree will challenge and inspire you.
Programme Objectives :-
The objectives of the Bachelor of Law degree program are:
1. To equip students with a sound understanding of the foundations of legal knowledge, enabling
them to obtain exemption from the common professional examination.
2. To offer students the opportunity to study law from an extensive catalogue of optional
subjects, covering the entire range of legal knowledge.
3. To develop students' analytical and research skills, equipping them with the generic skills they
will need in their future careers.
4. To expose students to a wide range of disciplinary approaches to legal study, encouraging
them to reflect on the complexity of legal practice and of the variety of ways of understanding
law's role in contemporary society.
Career Prospects :-
Once qualified, a solicitor or barrister may choose to enter into either a private practice or
employment with such entities as the civil service, large companies or local authorities. For those
who do not choose one of the legal professions, a law degree is a particularly valuable
qualification that is highly respected by a range of employers.

12. The Grading Scale :
12.1 The following grading scale will be applicable for evaluating the performance of students,
where the numbers of students are 15 or more:
12.2 The following grading scale will be applicable for accepting the students under credit transfer/
lateral entry for their exempted credits on the basis of evaluation conducted by other
Universities/ Institutions in non-grade pattern OR for evaluating the performance of students,
where the numbers of students are less than 15:
12.3 The University shall follow the same grading scale for accepting the students under credit
transfer/ lateral entry for their exempted credits on the basis of evaluation conducted by other
Universities/ Institutions in grade pattern, if the total numbers of passing grades are 10. If the
total numbers of grades are less than or more than 10, then all such grades will be
proportionally evaluated by the University in accordance with its adopted grading scale for
accepting such credit transfer/ lateral entry.
13. The Programme Credit Distribution :
The Formula for calculating SGPA/ AGPA for credit transfer/ lateral entry for the exempted
credits on the basis of evaluation conducted by other University/ Institution in non-grade mode
:
SGPA : shall be calculated for the corresponding Semester = ∑GP/TS
AGPA : shall be calculated for the corresponding Year = ∑GP/TS
The University shall follow the same SGPA/ AGPA for credit transfer/ lateral entry for the
exempted credits on the basis of evaluation conducted by other Universities/ Institutions in
grade pattern. If the total number of passing grades are less than or more than 10, then all such
SGPA/ AGPA will be proportionately evaluated by the University in accordance with its adopted
grading scale for accepting such credit transfer/ lateral entry.
All the candidates continuing education through credit transfer / lateral entry shall be awarded
equal number of credits as defined by the University at the corresponding level for the
exempted duration only after clearing the qualifying examination.

This paper may have three components of 30 marks each and viva for………..
Moot Court (30 Marks ).Every student may be required to do at least………...moot courts in a year with 10
marks for each. The moot court work will be on assigned problem and it will be evaluated for 5 marks
for…………submission and 5 marks for oral advocacy.
Clearance of Trial in two cases , one Civil and one Criminal (30 Marks). Students may be required to
attend two trials in the course of…………of three years of LL.B. They will maintain a record…….various steps
observed during their attendance on different in court assignment. This scheme will carry 30 marks.
Reviewing techniques and Pre-trial preparations and Internship (30 marks) : Each student will observe
two interviewing sessions of that the Lawyer’s Office / Legal Aid Office and record of
proceedings…….which will carry 15 marks. Each student will further observe preparation of documents
and court papers by the Advocate and the cure for the filling of the suit / petition. This will be recorded in
the……which will carry 15 marks.
Fourth component of this paper will be viva voce examination on…above three aspects. This will carry 10
marks.
Note: The Normal Rule and Regulation pertaining to the Examination and other issues will be applicable
in Faculty of Laws as per Arunachal University of Studies Act 2012, Subsequent Statute and Rules &
Regulations.
