CHAPTER I. INTRODUCTION

Background of the study

Conceptual/Theoretical Framework
Statement of the Problem
This study was designed to answer the following questions:

Statement of Hypothesis
This study tested the null hypothesis through the corresponding statistical tests. (0.05 confidence
limit).

Scope and Delimitation

First paragraph (Scope)
The content of this part are reflected in the specific questions formulated in the
Statement of the Problem. Persons involved, test organism used, variables explored,
research venue date or year covered, time frame and the issues to which the study is
focused are mentioned as the scope of the study.
2nd paragraph(Delimitation)
As to limitation, factors, situations , and circumstances which may affect the
gathering of data beyond the control of the researchers., should be mentioned so as to
justify the weakness that may come from the analysis of the data gathered.
Definition of terms (operational)
CHAPTER II. REVIEW OF LITERATURE
This chapter summarizes the ……………… Summary of findings of reading from books,
published articles relevant to the studies were presented to support this research work.

CHAPTER III. MATERIALS AND METHODS
CHAPTER IV. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter presents the analysis and interpretation of the data gathered in this study. The
course of the analysis and interpretation was guided by the problems presented in Chapter 1.

Table 1 shows the ranking of the most and least recognized terms and concepts of the
respondents. (Presentation)

Table 1. Ranking of terms and concepts

Most recognized Mean % Rank Least recognized Mean Rank

terms/concepts terms/concepts %

OPAC 84 1 Microfiche 10 1

Copyright 81 2.5 Gazetteers 11 2

Revised Edition 81 2.5 Collection Development 12 3

Bibliography 80 4

(Analysis) Identified as the most recognized terms were OPAC (84 percent), copyright (81
percent), revised edition (81 percent), and bibliography (80 percent). Microfiche (10 percent), gazetteers
(11 percent), and collection development (12 percent) were the least recognized terms.

(Interpretation) The extent to which the respondents recognized terms used in the library may
be attributed to the law of exercise which is concerned with the practice of the learning skill. Further,
the more frequently new learning is repeated, the better the learning (Torres, 1994). In library use and
patronage, when students are not exposed to the use of available materials and other services offered
by the library, familiarity with terms is likely to be affected. According to the law of disuse, a skill that is
not practiced and knowledge that is not used are forgotten (Torres, 1994). This observation is very much
evident in the respondents’ low recognition level of some of the terms indicated in Table 1.
CHAPTER V. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

This chapter presents the summary of findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the study.

(Note: recall the objective or the statement of the problem)

I. Findings

The salient findings of the study are enumerated as follows:

II. Conclusions

Based on the salient findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn:

(Note: present the statement/s of conclusion. Then cite the implication of the
paper to theory, research and practice)

III. Recommendations

In the light of the findings and conclusions, the following are offered as recommendations for
possible actions:

(Note: include also recommendations on how to further improve the study

and/or other areas for further study)
