TITLE DEFENSE
_____________________________________________________________________
Most of the time, people are being active when they are doing something. In
school, students want to do something rather than listening because they feel that they
are more engaged when there is an interaction between someone or something.
Learning takes place when they have something to manipulate while learning
especially in Mathematics lessons. Students are finding it hard to acquire and master
the skills when they are just watching how teachers solve a problem or when they were
just asked to answer on the board. There are different leaning approaches that are
arising nowadays and one of these is the Manipulatives.
This research aims to help the teachers on how their day-to-day lessons will be
more productive. I chose this topic because we all know that teachers are investing
most of their salary in buying materials such as chalk, board, marker, or even LCD and
laptop as well as getting an Internet connection to download pictures and videos just to
make their discussion a lively one. This research will give them an idea on how
effective the manipulatives are in enhancing the Mathematics proficiency of the
students. Using materials that is accessible and they don’t have to sacrifice their
budget to buy expensive instructional materials.
Expected Contribution to the Growth of Knowledge in EDUCATION.
This research will contribute greatly on teacher’s planning of daily lessons. Also, they
will be given a chance to show their creativity in using manipulatives as their learning
materials which the students will surely enjoy.
